    Mofongo con caldo

Disappointed by the food quality! Food: we ordered the chicken mofongo and I was very disappointed. Both The chicken and mofongo were extremely bland and i needed the spicy Mayo sauce to add some flavor. The tostones do not pair well with mofongo because it is literally the same taste profile. The arroz con habichuelas were good but they gave the tiniest portion of habichuelas for a huge plate of rice. The maize sticks were my favorite part of the meal. Ambience: the restaurant is in the middle of a shopping mall. They did have live music and a lot of seating Service: the service was great! Our server was quick with our food and happy to provide us with extra Mayo sauce

We were just in PR to visit our abuelo and went here for dinner with some family. What a spot! Everything we tried was delish and the portions were generous. I had the Milanesa de res - breaded bead steak and it was delicious! I wish I could go back and try more.

I have heard of this jewel for a long time and We finally had the chance to enjoy this place. Its a great place to bring your family, your grandma and even of you dare to bring your mother in law. Its typical Caribbean food at a great price. It was a flash back from when I used to go for lunch at my grandma's house. I had to taste my wife's plate and it was even better than mine ("carne frita"), the "tostones de pana" were perfect. I can't wait to return.

Nice restaurant with good food and friendly staff. They had live music during the weekends. Food was very typical Puerto Rican at reasonable prices. Everything was delicious from the corn fritters for appetizer to the main dishes of rice and beans and steak with onions. Family atmosphere but fun for everyone. Will go back

Visited this restaurant on a Friday night. They had live music which I thought I'd enjoy but it was so loud, I could barely hear my brother who I visited this restaurant with. The restaurant was very full and our waitress a little aloof. I decided on the shrimp in garlic sauce and rice. The food was good but just a bit too cold. It also took a very long time to come out. My brother had the breaded steak which apparently is one of their most popular dishes. I tried it and it was good too! I may visit again on another day to try other dishes but it wasn't the best visit.

It's mostly fried and fatty (sorry) but this place was the opposite! My local guy in Puerto Rico told me I would love it since I told him I wasn't a fan of overly fried foods. So he, my client, and I went there and saw it was super cool and right next to Ft Buchanan Army base! This place was packed with locals, cops, blue collar, business folks.. every kind of person was there and everyone seemed to know each other! They had amazing maduros with chicken, carne, veggies, and rice that was so tasty! We ended up going two days in a row for lunch because it was so fantastic and I cant wait to come back here! Thanks for changing my mind on Puerto Rican food!

I was on line with a bunch of people who knew what they came for: good old Puerto Rican cuisine. I went for the pork stuffed with yuca. In was covered in bacon. What a delight!!! I have never tried this and was ecstatic at the combination of flavors. I had two more carbs as side dishes as if that was not enough. Yuca frita fríes and arroz con longaniza. I was in heaven. I was told by saint Peter that this will be served in the heavenly banquet. I was well beyond full from the serving size but not ashamed of the generosity of their service. No longer could I pretend to have an inspired working dinner. I was a clear recipient of the culinary genius behind this creation. Enjoy!!

We arrived at 11am on a Monday because that's when we thought they opened. They actually opened at 11:30am, so we were 2nd in line at 11am. Once 11:30am rolled around, the line was very long. It's an old house that was transformed into a restaurant. It's pretty big in there and they have an upstairs as well. It really feels like you're eating in a Caribbean home, from the colorful tablecloth to the things on the tables. The menu is on a board, and they have a Spanish and English version. They give you a cup of complimentary plantain soup which was amazing. We also ordered the fried cheese app which came with a delicious guava sauce. For mains, I had the fried pork with tostones and my husband had the mamposteado (corned beef, fried eggs, and rice). My husband cleaned his plate, while I took leftovers back to the hotel (which we actually ate later because it was that good). They were out of tres leches that day, so we had the coconut pudding for dessert. It was my first time trying coconut pudding and it did not disappoint! For drinks, we had the passionfruit sangria. When we left, there was a very long line outside. Despite the line, they did not rush us out. Definitely recommend and would go out of my way to come back next time I'm in PR.
