I had the chicken sazon and it was a sauce that the kids said smelled like Christmas. It was suppose to be enchilada sauce but it had so much nutmeg or cinnamon that it was in edible. Went back a second time and got the chicken chorizo. The chicken patty was tough like it had been defrosted and cooked in the microwave. Cheese dip is delicious. Nacho chips are fresh but no salt. I was having a meal with my husband on Valentine's day. Firstly, they will not serve you a drink without your id. Even if you drink there frequently. secondly, when my husband and I got our meal, he had hair in his rice. The staff isn't keen on keeping fountain drinks filled either. Not to mention this is not authentic Mexican at all. Worse quality than El Toro, generic flavors and nothing seems to be actually "made" in the store. We moved from Texas and this is the closest thing to good Mexican we could find in the area. Salsa is incredible. It could use a bit more cilantro but I realize that's not for everyone. I've not had a dish I don't like. Favorite go to though is the steak fajita quesadilla. read more

$42 for 2 drinks and two orders of fajitas. The steak was a pale color you couldn't tell it from the chicken. Golden Corral or Ponderosa would be embarrassed by this steak. The fajitas were wet, squishy and really bland. Not pleasureable and waaaayy overpriced. Service was abominable. The server actually took our credit card and instead of running it and bringing it back, he just dropped it off at the front desk area and had no intention of returning to the table. The reason for the 5 stars is simply because of the other restaurants in the area, which are really quite bad. In fact, I've never seen so many well known franchises fail to hit the mark as badly as they do in Springfield. That being said, Casa del Sabor takes pride in the quality of their food in everything from the salsa and guacamole, to the entrees and drinks. The prices are fair, and the service is ok. Once again, I probably added an extra star for being one of the only restaurants that gives people what they deserve in a town that should have a lot more options. read more

My husband and I ate at this place a week ago for the first time and it was awesome!! We have traveled extensively out West and Casa del Sabor was as good as any Mexican food we got out West. Will be going back next week. We have lived in the Miami Valley for 30 years and try every new Mexican restaurant that comes around. I'm usually partial to one of the other Mexican restaurants in town, but this place has really captured my taste buds. The food is super tasty--I love the Buenos Nachos--and the portions are HUGE! Bring a friend and split some nachos and you'll be golden. They also have corn cake, which I haven't seen at any other Mexican restaurants in the area. My only "complaint" (if you could call it that) is that the staff isn't as friendly here as the other major Mexican restaurant in town. Definitely recommend! read more
