This is the restaurant at the Cancun Plaza, and is not reflective of my experience at the condo so far. Suffice it to say, this is not the place to go. It was overpriced and just OK food, if I am being kind.Beans tasted burnt, portions were small. Chips were stale, guacamole was expensive and sucked because they used unripened avacados. Best thing was the grilled onions and peppers that came with the fajitas. That says a lot about the food quality.
Service was friendly, but not competent. Food came out at different times, couldn't even be bothered to provide plates.
$20O for 5 small entrees and 8 drinks. I did ask for a receipt after the confusing bill paying process, which made me feel like I was being conned (I wasn't, it's just a rip off).
The clincher happened The next day at the pool, when I asked for 2 straws. The young bartender gave them to me. After a while, they disintegrated. I asked for some more and this time the "head bartender " very rudely told me no. I asked again, he said no. I then offered to pay for 2 straws, and again was rudely told no.
I did come back later and told him I spent $200 in there last night and that it was ridiculous to deny me a straw. I tried to say in Spanish and said dos mil, and he mocked me and said "you spent $2000 dollars." Total jerk.
What a shame, I probably would have spent a few hundred more dollars on drinks and maybe even tried a hamburger or torta.
But not now, nobody in my party of 6 will spend another dime in that place.
What a shame. This place and this bartender, older man with a mustache, are reflecting poorly on this property. I encourage management to rethink their lease with this operator-I am sure there are plenty of restaurant operators who would reflect better on the Cancun Plaza and provide better food and more courteous service.
