A Rexburg hole in the wall. Located on Rexburg Main St, you can miss it even if you are trying to find it. I have never been inside the location, just used the drive through. There normally isn't a line, and if there is, the service is pretty quick. All of the food is good and authentic. They do use more potatoes/fries than normal - but hey! It's Idaho! My favorite thing to get is the Carne Asada fries. Base layer of fries, slices of Carne Asada, sour cream, onions & tomatoes. It is a popular rexburg favorite. I love heat so I add hot sauce when I get home. I'll also throw in a Horchata and a few churros ($1 each). My biggest observations are; 1. The Carne Asada was a bit fatty this last time I went. My husband didn't think it was a problem, so maybe it was just me. 7/10 2. The Horchata was just watered down for my taste. Still tasted amazing! I give it 8/10. 3. CHURROS ARE PERFECT! 10/10 Overall, short a star- it wasn't perfect, but still a favorite, we will be going back soon. read more

Casual Counter Service Restaurant. The restaurant had plenty of tables and looked pretty clean. Honestly, I was not impressed by Casa De Ochoa. We were here on a Monday during a busy lunch rush. Normally, I am understanding of this if the food and service were good, but this was not the case! The service was also awful. The woman working at the counter was so snarky. I asked how big the tacos were to determine if I needed order 2 or 3. She wasn't friendly at all! I get it, there was a line behind me, but I didn't need the attitude. The cherry on top was how the tacos took 20+ minutes to come out and they were cold and unseasoned. Unfortunately, the steak tacos were mid at best, and pretty pricey ($3+ per taco). I was hungry for Mexican food today so I found this place to go satisfy my grumbling tummy. It was around 1:15pm when I went to this establishment, only to find out I was going to have to wait a good minute till I would be able to satisfy my craving, beacuse, I tell you what this line was sooo gosh dang long. I had to wait for forever, but none the less I really felt like Mexican food so I waited. finally I was able to order, all I wanted was just a normal enchilada with green sauce. after paying feeling and feeling like I just got robbed. I received my food went to sit down at one of the only open tables, only to find out this place must employ children because this table looked as if a 3 year old wiped it down. so I went to my car to eat my enchilada, and right as I take my first bite I thought the 3 year old also cooked my food. My family came here for dinner while staying in town to drop off my brother for college. They have a huge menu with lots of options from tacos, burritos, flautas, enchiladas, fajitas, nachos, etc. I ordered the Al pastor tacos and thought they were pretty tasty. I was missing a little slice of pineapple or something to go with it and I wasn't immediately sure that they had any salsas to add to the taco. But for a small college town Mexican restaurant I'll give them four stars because I'm not sure they're are a lot of options in Rexburg like this and they're doing a decent job. My family also ordered carne asada nachos, California burritos and the carne asada chimichanga. Everyone seemed satisfied with their choices. The Al pastor tacos were def a favorite though. Went for dinner here yesterday with family and we enjoyed everything about this little gem. Great food, easy parking, the staff and service was so nice that we even made sure to thank them for being so thoughtful and welcoming. Honestly not authentic or tasty. Meat had no flavor and was super bland. Our chimichanga was wrapped like a folded blanket and gave off deflated air-mattress vibes. No cheese, no salt on anything, smothered in too much bland guac and sour cream. Also pretty expensive ($11.99) for a small serving. El rancho taqueria gives better portions for 3/4 the price and actually know how to take you to flavortown. read more

Decent Mexican food for the Rexburg area. Honestly, not as good and authentic as we get in Arizona. However, for Idaho, it's pretty good. We enjoyed the burritos and salsas. Salsas were a little mild for my taste. That's a personal preference as it's not hot enough for me unless my lips are tingling. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was clean and comfortable. This in my opinion is the best tasting Mexican food in Rexburg and some of the surrounding areas. The portion sizes are good, the prices decent, the aroma is awesome, the meat, salsa, and sauces are flavorful! Only downside is it is generally busy, the parking lot situation is a bit odd and can be hectic when crowded and a little noisy inside and the open seating/setup feels a little strange. Made a trip to Rexburg and decided to have lunch. Found this place and stoped in. Bad choice. First of all, this is not a restaurant but more of s fast food joint wanting to be a restaurant. You walk in, read the menu on the wall, walk back to the counter, order and pay. The place was filthy. It looked like the floor had not be cleaned in several days. They have a big menu but it is just variations on the same thing. My wife ordered the cara Asada torta. I ordered the enchilada plate. Mine came with a giant portion of rice and refried beans. Not even sure what kind of beans they were just very chunky. The rice was very bland. My enchilada were about the size of a very small flaunts and without any flavor. Almost like canned food. Wife was ok with her torta but it was a little sloppy and to much bread to meat ratio. Service is very slow. This is not on my return list. read more

Traveling through Rexburg on Labor Day and found this little treasure open. So glad we opted to try them as the food was quite good. Tasty and authentic are two words which come to mind. Got a love the local flair of Rexburg Idaho. I enjoyed their tacos Al Pastor but not as much as I hoped for. Overall the food was very wet. I am normally not opposed to wet tacos but it's made my one tortilla split down the bottom and I lost all the filling. Just a suggestion for the future. You should put two tortillas for every one taco so that way if there is a taco blow out it will catch the rest of your taco and you can have two tacos for one taco. If you have questions about this Mr. Ochoa please call me at 702-882-6991. Also what's the deal with charging $.25 for two lines? I would like to know. Don't be so stingy with the limes. Hubby got a Al pastor chimichanga. The meat was good but the rest was bland. They were out of spicy salsa. The chips and salsa has no seasoning or flavor. If you're in a hurry don't eat here! We've been twice and both times the wait time is excessive to the point you're considering getting your money back. Also, don't use their website to place an order if you're hoping to avoid the wait time because that doesn't work either. Then you get a text stating you have to call to place your order. I'm not sure why it's so hard to update your website and remove the online order section! If you can get the food its good for a fast food Mexican restaurant. I ordered some nachos and my husband got a burrito here. The nachos when they brought them out didn't have melted cheese all the way, and the cheese they topped it with was just the shredded melted cheese. I kind of expected with nachos to have some queso cheese, but I was okay with the melted cheese. I also thought the nachos would be a good portion size, but they played it on top of a riser so it looked like there was more food than there actually was. I was really disappointed, and sad that the carne asada they had topped it with was also dry and a bit tough, almost as if they had cooked it earlier but left it out for some time. My husbands burrito was pretty good, but he also got carne asada as well and it was the same sad story. Wonderful "hidden" corner of Mexico here in Rexburg! I had the Chicken Chipotle burrito smothered style. It was excellent! Fresh delicious ingredients. Casa De Ochoa is a regular place for me because of one thing, the California Burrito. This burrito was originally recommended to me by an acquaintance who was already hooked on it himself. The California burrito is an explosion of the perfect ingredients that give your tongue a flavor unlike any other! Every bite is like a dream. Don't forget to put the green salsa on top of each bite. In addition to the wonderful food, the atmosphere is nice and simple, with Latino music playing in the background for an overall good feeling. Admittedly this review is from a visit over 3 years ago, that being said, I remember it well because the food was so good! I went in with some friends on Mexican Independence Day and they were offering free ice cream with a purchase of over a certain amount. The ice cream was really good! Though I don't remember what I ordered, I do remember that is was delicious. The one thing is the pricing, it was more expensive than what I would normally pay, which is why I normally go to the Taco Bus, which is a little cheaper and of similar quality.
