It was there but did not pack that carnitas flavor. Guacamole was just avocado and MAYBE salt(The lighter the color, the more avocados and less ingredients it has). This is a classic street taco place just like you'd find in L.A. or other big cities. While the funky little bus gives it a bit of an inner-city feel, what keeps bringing people back for more is the authentic street taco taste. The menu is quite simple: tacos, burritos, tostadas, quesadillas, and tortas (Mexican sandwich). Each entree comes with a choice of meats: beef steak (asada), pork roast (carnitas), tender beef (barbacoa), spicy pork (adobada), and grilled chicken. They also have lengua, cabeza, and tripo for those wanting a "deep" mexican experience. I tried the spicy pork burrito and the lengua (tongue) tacos. They were very tasty and reasonably priced ($5.50 total). The burrito was big and stuffed. The tacos were classic: topped with onion, cilantro and served with a lime. A friend also tried the torta, which looked delicious. I will definitely be paying these guys a visit again soon. The place features an eclectic mix of customers: Latinos, college students (mostly R.M.'s), laborers, and business people. I love Mexican food. It's a delight. Being an obese American I was delighted to see this place had a drive through, I'd get delicious Mexican food and not have to move my giant body at all? I hate moving around and so, this was obviously a delight. I ordered a super spicy pork burrito, with their super nachos. I learned, that unlike Superman, putting super in front of something doesn't make it super. In fact, it seems that they used the word super to compensate, much like man in a jacked up truck (we all know what you're hiding). The burrito was no larger than one you'd get anywhere else despite paying extra for the size, and the flavor was bland and dry. The nachos were unauthentic and gross, with dried out steak that didn't really carry any flavor. The best part about the meal was throwing it a way and deciding to eat a salad instead. At least my oversized self isn't going to gain weight, but some poor scavenger at the landfill is probably going to get the runs from that garbage. read more

These are the most authentic Mexican street tacos I've had outside of Mexico or Southern California (where I grew up for over 20 years). The carnitas is the best! Perfectly juicy and pure flavor. Fabulous! I also liked the chicken. The steak was my least favorite, as it was least flavorful and didn't pair as well with the hot sauce. That's the one complaint I have- one sauce to go with everything. Although they do have bottled sauces like Tapatio and Cholula out for use also. The onions and cilantro are fresh, as is the lime you get on the side. Yum! The kids got medium burritos. They are pretty big and only $3! The rice is very flavorful. I wish I could figure out how to make perfectly light, yet flavorful rice at home. Mine is always covered in too much tomato sauce and thus heavy. I live in SLC, but would stop by here next time I drive through. We stopped on the way home from Yellowstone. There is nothing this good at home! Oh yeah, this place is hard to find! Look for signs! Returned missionaries (that served in MEX), Mexicans, and Mexican food aficionados, unite and rejoice, this place is legit! First of all, this joint has Boing drinks, authentic imported Mexican juices!!! That is a huge plus already, I love the mango and guava flavor! Most other places don't have this. There is also sangría. If you deem any type of mexican food as good, be it tex-mex, taco buses, or anything akin to Mexico, this review won't suit you. You are probably better off in Taco Bell or Casa de Ochoa. The difference between Tepitos and other taco buses in Rexburg like El Rancho are abysmal in terms of quality. Tepitos has better tasting tacos by far. El Rancho's tacos are mediocre at best, the only decent thing there is a burro called "Burrito a la Crema". I know a good taco when I taste it. I am from Mexico City and ate tacos like nobody's business while there. I absolutely love them, so believe me when I say most Mexican food in southeastern Idaho is terrible. Since I've moved to the States, and having only lived in Indiana, Utah, and Idaho, it is hard to find good Mexican food and it doesn't help that people's standards and thus reviews are eschewed and of low standards. Tepitos, as their slogan states, is the the best taco place in Rexburg. It is better than most in UT and by far, I repeat, by far in southeastern Idaho. Morenita's in ID Falls isn't bad, their tongue tacos are a delicacy and their other food items are decent. The difference with Tepitos is, again, their tacos' flavors. The cabeza tacos are very close to tasting like the ones at home, they are exquisite. The carnitas tacos are quite good as well, their taste is above that of the other locals here. The barbacoa tacos are very hard to make in the US, at least in ID and UT, but the taste isn't too shabby, unlike most places. I did not taste other tacos nor the quesadillas, but I am sure they are delicious. If the cooks can make good carnitas and cabeza tacos here, they are good at everything else! I don't care too much for the tortas, if you want to feel full, then go ahead and dive in! This is a taco bus place, for all I know tortas aren't even going to be good around here. Cost: 5/5. This place is cheaper than most other places and you get more than your money's worth. Quality: 4.5/5. The best tasting tacos in southeastern ID, these are also better than most joints in Salt Lake. The salsas in the tacos are great tasting and not spicy. The tortillas are not as greasy and the flavor of then are above the rest, they are also bigger tortillas than most other tortillas in the US. Restaurant: 3.5/5. It is a bus and there are scribbles on the counters, but it is clean and there is hand sanitizer. One of the bad things is the location, it is hidden behind McDonalds, close to Wal-Mart. IF YOU WONDER WHY OTHER MEXICAN PLACES IN IDAHO HAVE MORE RATINGS, IT IS BECAUSE OTHER PLACES ARE RELATIVELY CLOSER TO CAMPUS AND APARTMENT COMPLEXES, BUT DON'T BE FOOLED, THIS PLACE IS GOOD, UNLIKE THE OTHERS. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THE LOCATION. If you do not like salsa, ask the cooks to leave the salsa out since they are used to serving them. I grew up in California eating as much of the real deal as I can get. This place is the closest to what I grew up enjoying in Rexburg, and the ones I have eaten at in the surrounding area. Also it is inexpensive. If you get their buy 5 get 1 free burrito card, and you use it ever time you get a burrito,$5 a burrito, 6 burritos for $25 = $4.16 a burrito.
