Absolutely incredible authentic Mexican food! This cute bus turned restaurant serves up some fire cooking. The service is excellent but the food is even more fantastic! I got a carnitas quesadilla and it was to die for. I can't wait to stop by next time I'm in town. read more

This was a fave for a while, years back. Then out of the blue I started to get sick every time I'd eat here. Then my kids and husband too. Started to hear about others as well. So I stopped eating here! Gave it a good few months break & tried it again.. made me sick again! So we are done with this place. Yes, it's inexpensive and authentic Mexican food. The flavor would be a hit and miss when we'd go (even before getting sick here), But it's not worth stomach pains and vomiting that came after. Service is ok. They're plainly dull when speaking and attending their customers too. At the end - eat at your own risk. I'd say this is the authentic Mexican version of Taco Bell when it comes to eating cheap and feeling sick to your stomach after read more

Had used the drive through many times and it was good enough to keep coming back. Met my sisters there for dinner and made the mistake of going inside. It was filthy. That visit also managed to disappoint with cold food. Gone downhill. read more

Yummy food. Yummy yummy indeed. Service bueno. Ambiance good. Yummy food. Yummy yummy indeed. Service bueno. Ambiance good.

I will never be able to say enough good things about this place. Service is quick and the staff is always nice. Food is always amazing too. And I can afford it Everytime my husband goes out of town for work I eat here like the whole week also I will never have a picture because I always eat my food way too fast. So good Edit: I got their nachos and wasn't too impressed. Chips weren't that great and their guacamole is like store bought so we scraped it all off lol. I'm not going to take away any stars though because their other food is good enough to make up for a few not so great things read more

A real Mexican knows the difference between good and bad Mexican food...This one is bad. I had a burro de Carnitas. I give the carnitas a 4/10 on flavor. It was there but did not pack that carnitas flavor. Guacamole was just avocado and MAYBE salt(The lighter the color, the more avocados and less ingredients it has). The tortilla wasn't cooked all the way, it looked like they pulled it out of the tortilla bag and threw it in a microwave for 30 sec. Esposa got the tacos de asada. Meat had a different flavor which I wasn't expecting. It wasn't bad but it wasn't super good, just ok. Wouldn't go back read more

such a fire place. def recommend the steak quesadilla. fast service chill employees. everything fyeeeeeeee

The best Mexican restaurant in Rexburg! The tacos and super quesadillas with green sauce are amazing! Clean and great service!

Known by many as "the taco bus across from McDonalds," someday McDonalds may become "the burger place across from Taco Tepitos." This is a classic street taco place just like you'd find in L.A. or other big cities. While the funky little bus gives it a bit of an inner-city feel, what keeps bringing people back for more is the authentic street taco taste. The menu is quite simple: tacos, burritos, tostadas, quesadillas, and tortas (Mexican sandwich). Each entree comes with a choice of meats: beef steak (asada), pork roast (carnitas), tender beef (barbacoa), spicy pork (adobada), and grilled chicken. They also have lengua, cabeza, and tripo for those wanting a "deep" mexican experience. I tried the spicy pork burrito and the lengua (tongue) tacos. They were very tasty and reasonably priced ($5.50 total). The burrito was big and stuffed. The tacos were classic: topped with onion, cilantro and served with a lime. A friend also tried the torta, which looked delicious. I will definitely be paying these guys a visit again soon. The place features an eclectic mix of customers: Latinos, college students (mostly R.M.'s), laborers, and business people. It is like Rexburg's own little multi-cultural melting pot of tasty goodness. Heads up to all gringos out there who might be afraid to try the lengua (tongue)--set aside your cultural inhibitions and just try it! There's a good reason why it's a big part of Mexican cuisine. It tastes like the juiciest, most tender pot roast you've ever had. read more

this is the best mexican food in Rexburg. everytime I come here the service is so fast and the food is deliciou!!

really cheap, but the food was not very good. The burrito was not flavorful and the meat was very cheap and bad, but bonus points because they have a cool bus. read more

I love Mexican food. It's a delight. Being an obese American I was delighted to see this place had a drive through, I'd get delicious Mexican food and not have to move my giant body at all? I hate moving around and so, this was obviously a delight. I ordered a super spicy pork burrito, with their super nachos. I learned, that unlike Superman, putting super in front of something doesn't make it super. In fact, it seems that they used the word super to compensate, much like man in a jacked up truck (we all know what you're hiding). The burrito was no larger than one you'd get anywhere else despite paying extra for the size, and the flavor was bland and dry. The nachos were unauthentic and gross, with dried out steak that didn't really carry any flavor. The best part about the meal was throwing it a way and deciding to eat a salad instead. At least my oversized self isn't going to gain weight, but some poor scavenger at the landfill is probably going to get the runs from that garbage. read more

These are the most authentic Mexican street tacos I've had outside of Mexico or Southern California (where I grew up for over 20 years). The carnitas is the best! Perfectly juicy and pure flavor. Fabulous! I also liked the chicken. The steak was my least favorite, as it was least flavorful and didn't pair as well with the hot sauce. That's the one complaint I have- one sauce to go with everything. Although they do have bottled sauces like Tapatio and Cholula out for use also. The onions and cilantro are fresh, as is the lime you get on the side. Yum! The kids got medium burritos. They are pretty big and only $3! The rice is very flavorful. I wish I could figure out how to make perfectly light, yet flavorful rice at home. Mine is always covered in too much tomato sauce and thus heavy. I live in SLC, but would stop by here next time I drive through. We stopped on the way home from Yellowstone. There is nothing this good at home! Oh yeah, this place is hard to find! Look for signs! We found it closer to 4th North- in fact we turned on that road from 2nd East and it was on the right. read more

These were pretty good. The location is just horrible. Stuck with two carnitas burritos. Flavorful read more

Their steak nachos are literally my favorite food in town. You get lots of food for the price, and they are always friendly.

The taco bus has the best tacos in Rexburg! This things are delicious! There other food is good to. Portions and prices are great. You gotta try this place! read more

Great spot for a quick bit. The food is good street food style. I have been happy with all the food I have gotten there. I like both of their sauces neither of which is too hot but they both have very distinct flavoring. Worth your time if you're looking for something quick that is filling and taste pretty good. read more

Returned missionaries (that served in MEX), Mexicans, and Mexican food aficionados, unite and rejoice, this place is legit! First of all, this joint has Boing drinks, authentic imported Mexican juices!!! That is a huge plus already, I love the mango and guava flavor! Most other places don't have this. There is also sangría. If you deem any type of mexican food as good, be it tex-mex, taco buses, or anything akin to Mexico, this review won't suit you. You are probably better off in Taco Bell or Casa de Ochoa. The difference between Tepitos and other taco buses in Rexburg like El Rancho are abysmal in terms of quality. Tepitos has better tasting tacos by far. El Rancho's tacos are mediocre at best, the only decent thing there is a burro called "Burrito a la Crema". I know a good taco when I taste it. I am from Mexico City and ate tacos like nobody's business while there. I absolutely love them, so believe me when I say most Mexican food in southeastern Idaho is terrible. Since I've moved to the States, and having only lived in Indiana, Utah, and Idaho, it is hard to find good Mexican food and it doesn't help that people's standards and thus reviews are eschewed and of low standards. Tepitos, as their slogan states, is the the best taco place in Rexburg. It is better than most in UT and by far, I repeat, by far in southeastern Idaho. Morenita's in ID Falls isn't bad, their tongue tacos are a delicacy and their other food items are decent. The difference with Tepitos is, again, their tacos' flavors. The cabeza tacos are very close to tasting like the ones at home, they are exquisite. The carnitas tacos are quite good as well, their taste is above that of the other locals here. The barbacoa tacos are very hard to make in the US, at least in ID and UT, but the taste isn't too shabby, unlike most places. I did not taste other tacos nor the quesadillas, but I am sure they are delicious. If the cooks can make good carnitas and cabeza tacos here, they are good at everything else! I don't care too much for the tortas, if you want to feel full, then go ahead and dive in! This is a taco bus place, for all I know tortas aren't even going to be good around here. Cost: 5/5. This place is cheaper than most other places and you get more than your money's worth. Quality: 4.5/5. The best tasting tacos in southeastern ID, these are also better than most joints in Salt Lake. The salsas in the tacos are great tasting and not spicy. The tortillas are not as greasy and the flavor of then are above the rest, they are also bigger tortillas than most other tortillas in the US. Restaurant: 3.5/5. It is a bus and there are scribbles on the counters, but it is clean and there is hand sanitizer. One of the bad things is the location, it is hidden behind McDonalds, close to Wal-Mart. IF YOU WONDER WHY OTHER MEXICAN PLACES IN IDAHO HAVE MORE RATINGS, IT IS BECAUSE OTHER PLACES ARE RELATIVELY CLOSER TO CAMPUS AND APARTMENT COMPLEXES, BUT DON'T BE FOOLED, THIS PLACE IS GOOD, UNLIKE THE OTHERS. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THE LOCATION. If you do not like salsa, ask the cooks to leave the salsa out since they are used to serving them. I would give this place a 20/10 if I could because El Rancho has similar ratings to Tepito, as well as Casa de Ochoa's. As mentioned earlier, many people have low standards here. These places are 2/5 or 3/5 at best they suck! Tepitos taste so good, but don't take my word for it, see and savor for yourself! read more

This is my favorite place to go for tacos, burritos, and their milanesa torta. Great bite for the price and I'll always keep sending people over there. Their food is amazing! read more

I had a hard time figuring out where the drive-thru was. Tried two tacos, pork and steak - but the pork was loaded with fat and grissle. And I just was not very fond of the sauce / flavor. I typically love authentic Mex, but sadly, Tepito's was a 1-timer for me. Gave 2 stars 'cuz they were super speedy, and my cashier (a young guy with a high voice) was super kind and friendly. read more

Wow, passing thru to Yellowstone, yelp helped us stumble over delicioso, scrumptious , authentic Mexican food, in of all places, a converted school bus. Very tasty! Quick service! Great prices! I got the carnitas tacos and my dad got the torta. The tacos were yummy, my dad was very impressed with the torta but there was so much food there he could only eat about half!! If I lived in the area I probably would eat here almost every day! read more

This here is the real taco bus of Rexburg. The burritos are great, and the way they should be, and that doesn't really mean smothered. Their nachos are also great and very inexpensive. You definitely get some bang for your buck here. I recommend this place to anyone. read more

Being from the East Coast, I looked all over for decent food in Rexburg and seemed I was going to have to cook myself. Then I found this little gem. When I first ate there, I ate came back for a week straight! Now, it's the first place I hit when I come back to school after the break. read more

Absolutely love their Lengua Tacos, and their Carnita Burritos. So dang good. Wish we could eat here all the time! One place in Rexburg I hope never leaves! So goood! read more

This place is the worst Mexican food I have ever tasted and that's saying a lot. I lived in Mexico for a few years and never was I served such trash. I would rather eat the leftover food they give to chickens than this crap. I had the super steak burrito and the only super thing about it was my super disappointment of this so called Mexican food. It's disrespectful to Mexican food to call this place "authentic". If you want to have a dry crusty overpriced burrito than this place still wouldn't be good enough for you. I would rather pour hot sauce and limes in my eyes than eat here again. So, if you want to regret living, eat here. read more

The food here is really cheap and pretty darn good. My only gripe is that there aren't a lot of options on the menu. The food is also very different than the mexican food people are typically familiar with, but give it a chance, you won't regret it. read more

I LOVE THE TACO BUS !!! There are 2, both are amazing. If I absolutely had to pick, I'd pick this one. The food is great, pretty big portions. And they have Horchata. For $1. AMAZING !!!!!!! If you don't know what Horchata is, try it !! The guy is funny. If anyone is afraid of health reasons for the taco buses, they really shouldn't. They use gloves, I've seen them every time. No negatives. Price is another huge bonus. It's just great. read more

I read the reviews and they looked good in general so my family and I decided to try it. The people were so nice. But the food wasn't very good. I have had much better Mexican food in Rexburg. The rice was pretty bland and the salsa was gross. Again, the people were nice, but there are way better places around. read more

Love it. Cheap and delicious. My 3 year old loves the tacos with cilantro and onion. I like the burritos. The super quesadillas are so cheesy. Too much for me to handle, but the hubby loves it. Their cilantro is always really flavorful and fresh, and I love that they give you a ridiculous amount of lime wedges for everything. I use them all. I've never been in the bus, I just get my food to go. They're usually faster than I expect. read more

I grew up in California eating as much of the real deal as I can get. This place is the closest to what I grew up enjoying in Rexburg, and the ones I have eaten at in the surrounding area. Also it is inexpensive. If you get their buy 5 get 1 free burrito card, and you use it ever time you get a burrito,$5 a burrito, 6 burritos for $25 = $4.16 a burrito. That is a good deal for the amount of food you get. read more

Good it has good taste for the most part I am not a fan of their tacos I do not like their taste as much as the ones at El Rancho. But the food is still good they have good meats the price is not to high over all not bad read more

I lived in Mexico City for two years and I am from Los Angeles. Mexican food is my favorite kind of food, so my standards are very high. Believe me when I say that the tacos and burritos from Tacos Tepito exceed my expectations and are some of the best I have ever had! The quality and amount of food they serve is amazing! I recommend the nachos! You will not be disappointed! They are huge and only $4.50! Their meat is so tender and full of flavor! I've ordered food from the other taco bus and it was chewy with no flavor. read more

This place is great! While attending school I always saw their bus parked all over town - always in different places because it is a mobile restaurant that moves around depending on the month, I suppose. I eventually tried the food with a group of friends and the food did not disappoint. I don't remember exactly what I got but we were all surprised how good it tasted - especially since it was served from a bus. read more
