Authentic Mexican food in the Hispanic area of Long Point in Houston serving large portions at reasonable prices in a family friendly environment. Casa de Leon is not Tex-Mex. I had the enchiladas which were very good. My friend enjoyed her tacos. We split some freshly made guacamole (nice). The same chef/owner has been at Casa de Leon for a long time. The waitresses are very attentive. The drink sizes are big. The ice tea is good. They keep their beer on ice. I like the coffee here as well. Nothing fancy at Casa de Leon simply very good authentic Mexican food worth trying. read more

I found the service and the food to be exceptional. Everyone was very personable and friendly. I really loved the two items I have tried there so far which were Caldo de res, and Menudo. Both were A+ excellent! I appreciated the small locally owned flavor of the place and I will be a regular. Can't wait to try the tacos. read more

Been going to here for years up till recently. Food is inconsistency and the beef being used is not even graded meat. Fajita tacos are terrible everytime I've had it recently. I use to be excited introducing it to people but after seeing rats roam around during dining hours and how the quality of food has gone down the gutter I take no pride to say that if this restaurant continues to operate like this people will get sick. I hope they get there act together or close your doors. It's one thing to provide bad service but to provide bad food that you pay for..... I rest my case. read more

It's fine when you get what you order but when you get a chimichanga with no cheese it's a pretty big disappointment.

They really need to update this place. Entire place looks dirty. The food wasn't that great and I saw Ima few roaches crawling around the ceiling . Not going back. read more

Quality has really gone down. So sad, it used to be one of my favorite hole in the wall places. You can still grab decent food if you're willing to walk in. read more

My favorite place to eat real mexican food friendly staff always hot and fast always parking

Had tacos to go. (Very convenient while getting my tires worked on next door.) The service was so fast! The tacos were huge: two full-size corn tortillas stuffed with meat. The fajita was OK... nothing spectacular for what you can find in this neighborhood. The pastor was well seasoned. My favorite was the green salsa!! read more

This place has been here since I was a kid and it never fails! Casa De Leon is a family staple. I introduce all of my friends to it and they have become regulars. Margaritas aren't what we come for. But the food, on point!! Service is always good! Burrito Express, Enchiladas, Juevos Rancheros(breakfast), Aquas Frescas are what you wanna get!!! Keep on keeping on Casa De Leon!!! read more

El servicio está 10/10 ! Y te train la comida bien rápido. Todos son bien amables y la comida bien rica. Súper recomendado .

Very delicious food and friendly wait staff. Brush up on your Spanish before you come, this is Texas, after all. Open late which is a plus. A hole in the wall worth your while. read more

We came here on a whim on a Sunday, I was tired and didn't feel like cooking. I wanted some beef soup but at 8:30ish they were out for the day. So I settled for 3 beef tacos and my husband got a burrito and taco. The green sauce is very good, flavorful but it's got the kick you need, don't forget to squeeze some lime on there to give your mouth a little break. We'll come back for sure. Total bill was $18 for the two of us. With sodas. read more

Place is ass. We ordered frozen margs, they gave us lemonade. I ordered tacos al cabin. They gave me some pics armed up frozen chorizos I can get at heb. Idk. I will get the Mexicano marinade from heb and cook it myself before I come back here read more

Great service and food! Enjoyed the topping off of coffee each time with our server checking if we needed anything. Definitely going back!

Second time eating there. First time was pretty good. Second time, got fajitas mixed (chicken and beef). The last half of the beef was literally rotten. I almost puked at the table. I spit it into a napkin. I sampled another piece--same thing. I eat a lot of beef, and I cook a lot of beef. I know beef pretty well. It was spoiled when it was cooked. At the end of the meal, the waiter asked me how everything was--I politely explained the beef situation. I still got the bill for the full amount. I only spit the beef out after remembering that time 8 years ago that I had a raw oyster in my mouth I could tell was rotten from a different restaurant. I chose to eat it (considering the company at the table) rather than spit it out. I got food poisoning that time. Fever, puking, 10 hours out-of-service, the whole nine yards. Anyway, one shouldn't be considering the odds of food poisoning (based on rotten taste) while paying for food. The guacamole was top-notch for sure. But I'll never go back. My table was dirty when I sat down and I thought about leaving. I normally get up (once a year) if I sit down at a dirty, sticky table (crumbs stuck to my arm and there were weird sticky wet spots). Should have known better. It was absolutely fucking disgusting, the beef was. The rest (other than the cleanliness) was ok. read more

Casa is, and will always be, one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the Houston area. The place is the favorite after workout destination for the climbers at the Texas Rock Gym located a few blocks away. If it's your first time, and you came with a hearty appetite, I would whole heartily suggest the Burrito (or as I like to call it - the Baby - as it's the size of a small child). The Burrito comes lathered in their tomato sauce and a generous portion of cheese. It contains the meat of your choice (my favorite is the shredded chicken), along with guac, lettuce, and numerous delicious other things. read more

This is a good, inexpensive, hole in the wall for Mexican food in Spring Branch, my wife and I ran into this place accidentally, we were driving through Spring Branch but could not decide where to stop, we almost missed it but caught it from the corner of our eyes. The staff and owners are very friendly, you will often see the owners serving you and making sure you are being tended to adequately. The owners are from Jalisco, my wife's home state, the food is not necessarily traditional from there, its more of a Houston Mexican style, but its good. As far as the decor of the place it is just a hole in the wall, you will know when you see it. Two things I really like about the place are the Emiliano Zapata painting on the wall, and the currency taped to the wall behind the cashier. Our favorite plates here are the green chilaquiles for breakfast and huaraches for lunch or dinner; but my personal favorite on a Saturday or Sunday morning is the menudo. This is how I order it: Large menudo no hominy, coffee, and a barbacoa taco on the side, flour tortillas all the way. The tripe is cooked just at the right tenderness and it is quite plentiful. The broth is just right, not too overwhelming on any one ingredient, but I must emphasize, a real menudo lover does not, i repeat, DOES NOT put hominy in their menudo, that's just a scheme to put less tripe in your plate, more cost efficient. read more

The best definition of a hole in the wall which is true Mexican food and none of that Chuy's tex-mex garbage! The prices are inexpensive and the food is authentic and savory. I ordered the mole chicken plate and some juicy lengua tacos which were out of this world. It is in a shady strip mall. read more

Consistently excellent service and great food. Beans and rice are always on point - as is the salsa. Fountain drinks are good too. Fresh tortillas every time. I keep finding myself here for breakfast, but their dinners are good too. Carne guisada is always tender. read more

I grew up in the border and I can tell you this little restaurant made me feel like home, I was surprised to see them having authentic Mexican dishes. Most Mexican restaurants don't offer them. Yummy hole in the wall, we got there at about 9pm on a Thursday night. There were still a good amount of people in there. The bf ordered a #8, and I did the 1 enchilada(beef tongue), 1 taco(barbacoa) combo plate. We were satisfied with the food, a little too spicy for the bf but I was supper happy with the food ! Love their green sauce ! Good value for the money ! Will definitely be back again ! read more

I've never been so disappointed . I love me some cheese enchiladas!!! But here at this restaurant don't waste your time . The sauce on the tortilla tasted like the dip it in some tomatoe sauce. And my cheese wasn't all the way melted in the middle of my enchilada . I ordered there Aqua de melon and it was nasty . Nothing natural about it . Straight tasted like it came out of a kook aid packet that says melon on it . Not feeling this joint at all . Won't be back . read more

This is great hot plate Mexican food. The chips and salsa are great, service is fantastic, and the food is cooked well. This will be a regular spot for my family. Highly recommend! (We had the huaraches with beef, beef barbacoa taco, and a burrito express with chopped fajita beef - all delicious!) read more

Cheap Mexican at it's best!!! If you spent over $10 per person, you did something wrong. The Horchata is ginormous and delicious. There is this really amazing green sauce that is super duper spicy in the squeeze bottle on the table. I would recommend tortas and burritos here. I go here after rock climbing at texas rock gym. And, the service is really awesome! Super easy to split a bill. If you're confused, you pay up front at the register as you leave. Not super healthy, but yummy!! read more

Just ate their enchiladas. I really don't make online reviews at all but it was so disgusting that it motivated to make a review. Their enchiladas literally, and I emphasize "LITERALLY" like an old storage room. They taste as if they were already pre made and stored for weeks. Will never come here again read more

Been here once. The food was good, and we will probably go again. The wait staff was friendly, but not all speak English. The restaurant is in a run down strip mall. The inside of the restaurant is also a bit dated/run down. But it was clean. Food was full of good, well blended flavors. read more

First and last time I will be visiting! Although the food was edible, overall greasy and bland, not close to authentic Mexican. But that is not the worst part - never in my my life have I ordered alambres, which are typically char or pan grilled and received deep fried meat on a stick!!!! We asked the server who confirmed to us that yes, the alambre is prepared by first deep frying then it is put on the grill. What was supposed to be "authentic" Mexican food, tuned out to be closer to drive thru fare. When we brought this up to the cashier/manager/owner(?) she insisted that this is the typical way alambres are prepared and that we should not have been surprised. Well if you don't believe me, a Mexican born Texas raised foodie, below is the description straight from Wikipedia. Truly disappointing after reading and believing the good reviews below. Still searching to an authentic Mexican place in my neighborhood! Alambre a'lambre is a popular Mexican dish consisting of grilled beef topped with chopped bacon, bell peppers, onions, cheese, salsa and avocado.[1][2] http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alambre read more

One of the best kept secrets in Spring Branch. They raised their prices a bit but well worth every penny.

Great prices and quick service. We had high hopes but left feeling underwhelmed. Refried beans and the extra hot salsa were delicious, but the mild salsa and enchilada sauce tasted like straight tomato sauce. Thought the guacamole lacked flavor and was probably overripe, even though I saw lots of comments here that it's en pointe. With all of the Mexican food options in the area, this one was just, "meh." read more

It's my first time here. The food was delicious! We ordered the chilaquiles, barbacoa tacos, and menudo. The tacos were on corn tortillas, delicious. I ordered 2 more egg and bacon tacos on flour tortilla to go. My kids devoured them! It's a hidden gem for sure! The prices for breakfast are low. Service was a 5 star, prompt and attentive! We will be back!! read more

If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would!!! I have only been coming here for about 4 years now but it has been here decades! From the first time, I could see that the food was authentic and amazing every time and it was one of the few legit places to get amazing fresh barbacoa, not reheated... The service turnover is good and I have seen the same faces for 4 years and that makes me happy and its nice to be recognized as a regular:) I also met the love of my life here and we celebrate every year by having lunch here on our anniversaries just like we did the day we met:) read more

Saw this place recently and wanted to try it. I had to have a tire replaced at Discount Tire right next door so even though I wasn't that hungry, I took the opportunity to walk in. They do have margaritas on the rocks so I ordered one--can't recommend! But when I said I didn't like it (clearly a mix) and ordered a beer instead, they removed it from my tab which I appreciate. I ordered nachos with beef fajita meat and asked for guacamole on top. The plate was far larger than I expected and the flavor was really good. Guacamole was very fresh. Chips were somewhat soggy but the great taste overcame that for me, plus the chip basket was handy with crispy ones. Love the green salsa--nice bite, great flavor. My entire bill was $12.99-can't wait to try breakfast here! read more

Casa De Leon - Beef fajita nachos with guacamole (extra) - Mexican Near Me - Houston, Texas

I've only been here for breakfast and it is dirt cheap with very fast service . I come hear for the chilaquiles with the spicier green sauce. It's mixed with white melting cheese topped with an egg and with a side of beans for only $4. There is nothing really special about the food (average) but they are very friendly and take care of you well. Another whole in the wall place in spring branch were you can leave satisfied. It is also not authentic Mexican when they offer hard shell tacos.. read more

Great flautas and delicious salsa verde. Their service is awesome, too. It does get very busy on weekends

Service is excellent here, the ladies are attentive and always anticipate needs. The only downfall is that their fajita plate combo is served with all meats mixed together. I prefer the chicken, beef, and shrimp separated as some of our party to not like all 3 meats. The beef that we added into the queso was so flavorful, if they can thicken their queso just a bit, it'll be perfect. read more
