This is one of my goto late-night spots for solid, no-frills Mexican food at a reasonable price. I've probably been here over a dozen times and tried a wide range of items from traditional tacos to breakfast plates, even a random T-bone steak (meh)... Some dishes I wouldn't order again, others are pretty decent, but overall, it gets the job done. The decor is more of a hole-in-the-wall, diner vibe. It's never overly crowded or trying to be anything more than what it is. The meat quality can be hit or miss at times (most times actually lol), but you'll always get your money's worth with generous portions.. Most plates comes with rice and beans, and not to mention the chips and salsa is a great complement as an appetizer pairing for a good Mexican beer. All in all, it's a Spring Branch staple that's been around for years.. I know what this place is and what it's not. Nothing fancy, the service is simple and straightforward, and you pay at the counter when you're done. Just reliable comfort food when you need it. 3.5/5

Great for a late night taco run. Really any time of the day but even better that they're open in the late night creep hours. Say you're out at a friend's house you know have no business being at and you guys get hungry after a little session of rekindling old habits that you know you should've let go...This is the perfect place to go! Get in there, eat good, duck off without being spotted by anyone you know. Unless of course you run into someone else creeping on the low, but they'll already know the deal. Either way the tacos and quesadillas are worth getting caught for, and the green sauce goes great on EVERYTHING! I'm going to tell a secret. I went twice in one night it was so good and convenient.

Food was very good as well as the drinks. We had a house margarita, Queso nothing special but it was ok. Guacamole was very good with some lime added. We ordered three beef Taco's flour tortillas beef fajita was really good. My wife got chimichanga with chicken she said it was very good. I ordered the enchilada dinner with two cheese and two beef enchiladas the sauce made it stand out it was very savory and the right amount of cheese as well. The Service was really good will definitely return to try different dishes here.

Great hidden gem in Houston!! Went with my family and we had the sweetest server who was so patient and helpful. The portions are amazing and the food was absolutely delicious, even the chicken inside the enchiladas was seasoned (which most places don't do!). The beef fajita is such good quality meat, and I really have no complaints about any of the food. The only thing is I wish there was more rice on the enchiladas plate but other than that, it was an amazing meal at a great place!

Great food great service great local mexican restaurant. Clearly they have been at this location for a while and they have the regulars as well. The food and the service was excellent. Again it is local sopot so don't expect big restaurant feel. I recommend and will visit again.

I love this place. It is very authentic. My favorite thing to get is their tacos al pastor.

Food wasn't great the nachos I think they put in the microwave and it makes the chips stale because they were very stale . The guisado was cold and a bit hard to chew the rest of the food enchiladas, rice and beans were good but I thought it would be a bit more fresh all the food . The service was ok ambiance dry calm with Mexican music that makes me want to drink in the background that was the best part . Your experience may be different feel free to try it's been there for years .

Taco Tuesdays give me the joy of finding places in this city to try their tacos. After being here a few times, they deserve their props for having some amazing tacos at a very favorable price. The barbacoa, pastor, carne guisada, and fajitas are my order. All tasty and perfect texture of juicy and succulence. And the tortillas held up nicely to support the proteins and toppings. It's the authentic Latino/latina way to do it. The menu has other Mexican cuisine that looks appetizing so I may check that out for the future. They also serve breakfast too which is a killer since Texans love their breakfast. Considered a "hole in the wall", it looks that way. But looks are deceiving as we all know too well. That's why we YELP about it right!?

Someone recommended this place and said they are known for their barbacoa and carne guisada. That got my attention. Tonight, I decided to check them out. They did not disappoint. This place is great! We had a delicious meal here. Barbacoa tacos, green salsa with a nice slow burn, crispy beef tacos, chicken torta, rice, and refried beans were all excellent. Can't wait to go back and try the carne guisada. Their desserts looked tempting as well. You should try them. There's a reason they've been around for a few decades.

Hole in a wall Mexican restaurant. No thrills here. I found the salsa to be extremely hot even the mild green sauce tasted like straight habanero. I ordered guisada, pastor and a chicken tacos. They tasted a little bland in my opinion. Cheap meal but there's better out there for tacos.

Worst mixed fajita, chicken, shrimp. Food tasted old and lukewarm.

Worst mixed fajita, chicken, shrimp. Food tasted old and lukewarm. It was supposed to be sizzling hot. Casa DeLeon used to be a good spot back in the late 90s. Shame how bad it is now. Same menu from the 90s as well as the decor. Service was okay, but food was garbage. Never again

A place I grew up in as a little girl in Beaumont but never have I've visit this "original" location. Stepping in to this spot felt like a restaurant in the country of Mexico. I ordered the El Henry. I absolutely loved my dish, only thing I would've chance was the cheese enchilada definitely would've swap for a chicken or beef one, or maybe even a flaunta. I really like the Mexican rice, it had little potatoes and carrots in it. Some of the best Mexican yellow rice I've had. They offer a cinco de mayo drink special. The only thing that seem to make it special was the drinks apparently were limited edition menu items. Nothing was special about the prices. The regular menu drinks were a dollar(s) less. The margarita I ordered first was peach coconut. I didn't taste the coconut at all. I swap for the peach strawberry ($14 or 15) which was great, sweet& strong. One did me just right. You get to select up to two flavors for additional $2 (for both verse each, that's a plus. Not worded on menu). If you select a third flavor an additional $2 would be added ($4 in total) I appreciate separate tickets provided after confirmation and no additional gratuity automatically added, which he got tip equally the same or more. When asked about the "empty" patio that was available, he informed us that the entire deck was reserved. Upon departing I noticed from the parking lot individual tables, of separate parties were occupying only 3 tables. It was 8 of us sitting at 2 tables. Which the table was pushed up against the wall, and one side was inaccessible, which took away spacing. Service was lovely space was really tight. Good thing some of the ladies didn't order full meals. Definitely wouldn't have been able to fit every plate.

Ambiance: upon walking in, it was chaos and sooooo many people standing up and sitting down. Walking around with drinks. I felt like I was in a club. A server made her way to me to take my Togo order. While waiting, I grabbed a drink at the bar and just made the happy hour cut off. Service was great as I was able to get my order and it was a large order. Everything was correct. The house margarita was ok, I wish I had gotten the hibiscus flavor. Order; Crab Tostadas Mixed Fajitas Snapper Mole Enchilada Ninfa 2 Tacos Margarita Mix The only thing I would order again is the crab tostadas and the beef fajitas. The chicken had no flavor at all. The charros beans and rice were not anything special. I was not a fan of either. Overall, we are not planning to order from here again. It just wasn't what Mark Weins made it seem like on his review. Also, whoever the driver was practically could not wait for me to turn around. Sorry, I had to take a pic. Very rude.

For drinks, my husband and our friends tried some of the margaritas from their large and unique margaritas menu, as well as their hibiscus agua fresca. All of the drinks were very pretty and it seemed like everyone enjoyed them, too! We started with their chips and salsa trio, which we all really liked. The chips were on the thicker side, but were crispy and not stale or chewy at all. Each of the salsas were quite different, and two were served warm, which we really liked! For the price, I'd consider getting the chips and salsa as a non-negotiable, honestly. For entrees, we tried the enchilada rojas, chilaquiles verde w/ chicken and beef, birria barbacoa ramen, and huaraches. My husband felt like his ramen could have included more meat, but aside from that everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. The highlight was probably the desserts, though! We got a quatro leches and two ordered of their giant and amazing churros. Both were incredibly tasty and reason enough to return for another visit in the future!

It definitely is enough for 2. The meat melts in your mouth. EVERYTHING is better quality than here. Teo charged $1.50 for perhaps 4 or 5 slices of lime to make the happy hour margaritas made with a gross mix drinkable. That's outrageous. It reminds me that I had stopped going long ago when they charged extra for onions on enchiladas. Come on. You don't charge extra for chopped onions! I ended up just removing the strawberries and eating the cake, which was moist and flavorful. The only downside for me was the drinks. They looked larger than they actually were because of the glassware, and they tasted a little watered down. I had two, and they just weren't very strong or super flavorful. I prefer traditional homemade Mexican food but here we are. (Oh I googled and suggested this place lol) Went in for a team lunch on a Friday. Coworker's birthday lunch and she wanted Mexican. Party of 9 and we were seated promptly. They have a lunch menu and a happy hour as well as a full menu and full bar. The interior was nicely decorated. And open. There is bar seating and patio seating as well. Our waitress was Aisha and she was amazing. Friendly, helpful and patient. And able handle our large group and a few more tables with a smile. There were a variety of options. Salads, fajitas, nachos, enchiladas, etc. Also complimentary chips and salsa. My Order: chicken tortilla soup, lunch fajitas combo - chicken and beef. Chicken tortilla soup (3.5/5) - it was a bit salty for me but I am not a salt person so most things are salty to me; everyone else said it was tasty, there were tons of shredded chicken, avocado pieces, tortilla strips Fajitas - combo (4/5) - chicken was seasoned well and the beef (medium rare) was perfection and so tender and juicy, mexican rice was fluffy, and normally I would pass on the beans and get extra rice but my coworker suggested the charro beans and wow, that was a win - the seasoning was great, there were chunks of meat and the texture was nice, the only thing that could have been done better is the flour tortillas - they over-charred them making them too crispy and left them with a burnt taste. A couple of people got the elote salad and raved about it. So that will be a next time try. Def will be back. Everyone enjoyed their meals and some even ordered food to go. Would recommend.
