Love the happy hour till 6:30pm. Nowadays you can't get any deals. But this place has lots. I sit by the bar n love watching Eddie the bartender make the drinks w precision. Love the skull artwork in the back. I had Pastor taco $6 sooo good. Steak taco $5. And I had to have the street corn $6. So good. I would def come back. Great neighborhood place.

My home base!! Casa is truly one of the best authentic Oaxacan Mexican restaurants. This restaurant serves up dishes crafted from homemade recipes that are rich in flavor. Also, the entire staff are so cool and genuine, you'll keep going back just to hang out with them. Favorite dishes - Mole negro, any fish special, & Carne Azada Favorite cocktails - Green razor & Negroni Del Sur Best dessert - Flan !!

Came here for a Birthday meal for my Dad awhile back. Loved the food, aesthetics were a vibe. Service was outstanding. Very cute place. Lots of unique nice art/accents/decor that make for a very photogenic night for those who are into that sort of thing. Onto the most important part - food! The Branzino was the star of the show for me - Really tasty. I'm not sure if it's a regular menu item but it should be :) Fish Tacos were good. Only thing I didn't enjoy were that the drink were too pricey and mostly ice but probably on par for park slope. Overall it's a cool place to check out.

Omg best food and drinks!! I'm a margarita and tequila girl all the way and this place has a bar with so many different tequilas and I was amazed. We had An array of apps, entrees and dessert and everything was amazing. I let the staff know I had back issues and she gladly put me in a comfortable and large booth. Honestly this is the best Mexican food I've had. Everything is point hot and full of flavor, it's so good I wanna gate keep this spot lol

I enjoyed Casa Azul. The decor was really cute and chic. If you like pics for social median you can definitely catch some nice pics in there. It was a Sunday afternoon, and it wasn't crowded. We were seated upon entry. The host was also our table help and she was really sweet. I appreciated that she let me sample Mole before I ordered it. I think I basically made up my own meal and they accomplished it. Lol. It wasn't on the menu but I told them what I felt for and they hooked me up. The Guacamole was good! I can tell it was freshly made. So good! The chips seemed made in house. So that's a plus. The food was tasty and a good experience. Ithijg was bland that's for sure. I loved the black beans (but I love beans. Lol) I would recommend and will be back because the cocktails look great. The day I went, just wasn't a cocktail kinda day for me

Birthday, custom tres leches cake!

I have dined at Casa Azul maybe 20 times with my family and it is hands down our favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. I recommend the whole menu!

I've been here twice, once for brunch and once for a friend's birthday dinner. Both times, the food, drinks, service, and ambiance were excellent. For dinner I ordered the grain salad and it was delicious and filling, especially for a salad. For brunch, we got an array of brunch cocktails, all of which were unique and enjoyable -- but I'd recommend skipping the espresso martini, which was a bit watery. All of their other drinks infuse Mexican flavors and are much better anyway. For food, we got guacamole, the fried fish sandwich, and the pork tacos. The pork tacos were good but the fried fish was excellent. It also came with fries which had a rosemary seasoning and were surprisingly great. The guacamole and chips were a little salty for us, but you could shake enough salt off the chips to solve for it. For dinner, our servers accommodated a large dinner party with no issues and quick/friendly service. For brunch, our server was very helpful with drink recommendations and ensuring our party's food allergy was handled without any issue. The ambiance of the place is festive Mexican and it has nice outdoor seating as it gets nicer out. Would definitely recommend this place for some of the best Mexican food in park slope!

Tlayuda

What a lovely experience. I have been so excited to have Oaxacan cuisine - my mother is from Mexico and I grew up on her Mexico City style cooking + spent much of my childhood in Mexico City, but Oaxaca is one of my absolute favorite places to travel to outside of CDMX and their food is up at the top of my list. So I was pumped to suggest Casa Azul for my friend's birthday this last week. We started with the queso fundido, which was very tasty and came with hot and fresh tortillas on the side. I also ordered the hibiscus cocktail which was so tasty, and we shared guacamole that was very good. For a main, we split the tlayuda which was excellent - the meat inside came absolutely perfect marinated and cooked to a medium rare - I was honestly impressed that they even asked how we wanted the steak cooked. The tlayuda was very tasty, although I was a little confused that it was folded as I'm used it it in Oaxaca being more like a flatbread or a pizza. Regardless, I won't knock points down because it tasted great. The decor is super cute inside, although we sat outside and the seats have heating - it's decent heating but probably wouldn't go if it was a super cold day (good enough heaters for 40+ weather but not lower IMO). The service was super friendly. Great spot to check out for tasty regional Mexican cuisine!

The food was delicious and the classic Margaritas were great also. We did the Jamaica flavor and was excellent. The service was attentive, polite and friendly. The ambience was good, great music. Definitely recommend this place for drinks and food.

Great atmosphere, good food and friendly service. Drinks could have been a little stronger for the price.

I've made it a point to visit every vinyl listening bar that I learn of in town, after enjoying the shared experience of someone curating a select vinyl list in intimate spaces in Tokyo. Few have been able to replicate the experience, but Honeycomb Hi Fi Lounge comes close. That the space is narrow with just a few seats along the bar and a few tables mimics the Japanese experience best, where you can almost have it so the whole room is having one conversation together. The music is the focus. The cocktail menu is rather simple, and my Stormbringer drink, with dark rum and ginger beer was not anything to write home about, but $15 is pretty low for cocktails these days so I'll take it. If they introduced new cocktails to the menu with more interesting ingredients I'd be more inclined to return, but the vibes overall are pretty good and the staff really nice.

When the bar had multiple empty tables?) to asking us multiple times how many drinks we planned to order, then getting clearly frustrated when we sipped on our $25 cocktails slower than he would prefer. To top it all off, he spotted a deck of cards in my open purse and came over to tell us that "this isn't a board game cafe, you need to leave if you want to do that" Very strange attitude for the location and vibes of the neighborhood, save your money and go down 5th a bit further to find cocktail bars that actually want patrons!

We went on a Friday night with a party of 3 and did a walk in. That was a risky move and to our luck, the hostess was so sweet and squeezed us in as the last party of the night! This is a must visit when in downtown Brooklyn. We couldn't try the food since the kitchen closed and we were the last to enter but we were able to try 3 drinks and I recommend them all! 1. Donkey Conga ($22) Bourbon and aged cachaça centrifuged with Banana. Followed by Cynar & sweet vermouth. 2. Manta Ray ($22) Coconut cocktail of apricot, ginger, and mint. London dry gin & Haitian Rhum. 3. Star cycle ($18) Shakened milk washed gin, Jasmine, and grapefruit

We had three and left suitably sloshed for the night with no aftereffects. We didn't have too many bites but the food was very good for a bar. I'm excited to go back and I hope we have just as much luck getting in next time.

It's this almost speak easy vibe behind big dark doors, you enter into a quaint space with small cocktail tables for seating and bar room. The cocktails were simply outrageous. Crafted to perfection with potion bottles used as finishers (yes potion bottles for their perfect witch craft making bartenders!) I think I enjoyed the bartenders work ethics as a concept the most. Sure the place was hitting the nail on the head for any speak easy, specialty cocktail seeking person's dream. But the fact that the bartenders were straight ripping through putting out eclectic drinks, with a smile on their face that was genuine was most impressive. I want to go back not just because I'm in the area. I'll go out of my way for this one. Nice job Sweet Polly!
