The rooms were quite spacious and had a lovely balcony looking out to the surrounding neighborhood. During our stay, they left us a beautiful hand-written thank you note with a small gift on Christmas day, which was really thoughtful and blew us away. Not to mention the delicious daily breakfast selection of fresh breads, meats and cheeses, pastries, and frittatas. The common areas were also very nice and homely place to drink and eat. The pool also looked amazing but, unfortuntately, we were not able to use it as the weather was not suitable. The location is perfect as well as you are close to very highly-rated, popular restaurants and local trains. Based on the location, amenities, and overall hospitality, I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a holiday stay in Lisbon.

This means at certain times of the day, the lobby or the breakfast area is an absolute zoo and pure chaos. They are a 5 stars level with a 4 to 4.5 stars experience depending on time of day. Their elevator is modernized, pre-scan with room card, and assigned an elevator. Some visitors simply take a longer time to understand how it works. One can get stuck behind a group and wait forever for an elevator. Other than that, we had a genuinely excellent stay. The room is comfortably sized and set up well. We were on the 17th floor with a skyline view. Pockets of the hotel are particularly pretty. My favorite is the back garden area. There are places to get a drink or simply visit. Breakfast can be chaotic when a tour group(s) is also there, but they manage well. The food choices are abundant; the cut fruits such as papaya were ripe and delicious. Coffee and drinks are delivered to the table. The location is good but not great. It is near a train station and a grocery store. Several restaurants are within easy walking distance, though not many. More options are a 20 minutes' walk away. Taking an uber is easier.

Here are the pros and cons: Pros: - We met our guide, Daniel, in the Principe Real section of Lisbon and walked a couple miles toward the Baixa and Chiado neighborhoods. He was more knowledgeable than an encyclopedia...as personable as an entertainer and tied lots of historical loose ends together. - Daniel included many of his own personal views which, depending on your outlook, could add or subtract from the experience. For us, it cut both ways. - All in all, a comprehensive and, at times, intense yet enjoyable 3 1/2 hour walking tour with insight into the Jewish past of Lisbon and Europe at large. - Price seemed reasonable.....100 Euros per person. Cons: - As noted above, Daniel included many of his own personal views which, depending on your outlook, could add or subtract from the experience. For us, it cut both ways. - There was quite a bit of walking up and down hills on cobblestone streets, but it's Lisbon, of course...so that's something to keep in mind. We'd recommend this tour, but first see if the primary guide, Paulo, is available.

This is a perfect location to enjoy a lot of restaurants and entertainment. It was very clean and I would return.

The rooms were very large, comfortable, and many provided great views of the city. The price was very reasonable and overall the room was a great value. One recommendation: if you are driving in you should reconsider the suggestions of the staff on the nearest parking lot. We were directed to the parking lot straight ahead by the statue and given no estimate of price, just told that was the best spot for parking. This would ultimately cost over 40E a day and we were told by the parking attendant that no hotel should ever recommend people to part there. Outside of this, we really enjoyed our stay.

There is always someone to open the door for you on your arrival and you're greeted with a gorgeous spacious entrance into the hotel. Service is great -- especially the cleaners for the room. They would visit my room twice a day to endure I had water, that my slippers with ready for me beside my bed, a little chocolate each night before bed... their attention to detail made me think they should train other teams in the world. The grounds are beautiful complete with a pool with a gorgeous water view, a highly rated fancy restaurant that won't break the bank, a good breakfast buffet, a state of the art gym, a spa, and very spacious rooms and bathrooms. This hotel was great for a work conference and they handled hundreds of people with ease. This is a great example of how a top tier hotel should be ran. Outstanding!

For an extra charge, the hotel was able to provide us transportation from the airport; they even arranged private transportation to drop us off at our airbnb when we had to check out the next day. The transportation service was great and very informative, we wound up using them to take us to the Sintra one day during our trip. We unfortunately only stayed one night and I wish we stayed longer, my husband constantly talk about coming back here. Cascais is an absolute gem of a town and I highly suggest spending a night here if you are ever in the area.

So first things first: taxis can't stop right outside the hotel - it's on a corner on part of Main Street - they must go across the road; it's no big deal unless you've heavy cases, like us, but also if you've a trip arranged with a hotel pick up. The check-in reception area is compact and in our case we were lodged up one floor but once there had to go down a few stairs to reach room 107. This was inconvenient but the staff brought our cases to/from the room. And here's one of my two main criticisms: staff should recognise customers of advanced age and make life a tad easier. We would have preferred a room where we could simply roll our cases out of the lift along to a room. We had a mini fridge, a view out into the street which didn't bother us - in fact it was great to watch the great unwashed of which we are a happy perspiring part. We had a similar experience in Rome with an apartment overlooking the Trevi Fountain. Our room was adequate in size but that's to be expected as we were right in the heart of this truly beautiful wonderful vibrant city. The air con was great and the shower was a great size and real powerful. Towels are a good size. Bed and pillows comfy and a decent sized tv that we ignored. There was an in-room coffee machine but no way of boiling water for tea and don't suggest to use the coffee machine as tea needs water that is just boiled. Given the vibrancy of the city it was quiet in the dead of night. I really enjoyed the breakfasts but and here's the other criticism the machine delivered breakfast coffee produced possibly the worst coffee I've ever tasted. It was rank. Coffee apart breakfast was great. All staff we encountered were delightful and I hadn't realised there was a decent discount on night time dining in their restaurant but we saw some of the grub and it looked pretty good. We would stay here again and be happy about it apart from the coffee.

It's central to everthing Lisbon has to offer and close to all of the amenities and some great restaurants and food places and the yellow bus. The hotel staff are unbelievable and a great resource for information on what to do where to go and what to eat. I want to especially give Christina a shout out. Christina is an incredible human being and a great ambassador for this hotel. She has been wonderful from the very beginning.. I think Christina works mostly at night, but she's such a breath of fresh air. The day we got here the elevator was broken, and she single-handedly insisted on taking four of our cases upstairs to the third-floor. Needless to say, we really didn't want her to, but she insisted, and that for me is service that goes beyond just a broken elevator. She was so considerate that she didn't want us to climb three flights of stairs, which we were perfectly capable of doing, and she took us through. This secret elevator also known as the service elevator. I think the hotel could do with some updating, which is why I didn't give this five stars. The rooms are tiny the carpets really really need either replacing or serious cleaning, but the people make up for what us Americans would consider some shortcomings in the actual hotel like the carpet in the hallways. Incidentally, the bedrooms does not have carpets. I love that. This place has an incredible sense of humor and they have cute little sayings all over the place. My favorite saying is right at the front door which happens to be double glass doors and they have a sticker on the door that says" hello. My name is Glass. ". Needless to say they put that there, because so many people wanted to make close friends with the glass doors . Love this place and the people that work here please visit them.
