I happened to be holed up in a hotel across the street with a sprained foo awaiting a temporary passport from the Canadian consulate across Plaça Catalunya, so this gave me an opportunity to try out Casa Agusti. And I must say, I was quite happy with my experience. I started off with a fresh glass of red wine Sangria, and it was on point.
The menu is quite extensive, including both seafood, rice, and meat dishes. The also ha d section of seasonal dishes, but since they were printed onto the same menu, I suspect they do not change often. I started off with the pa amb tomàquet. I would have preferred a bit more tomato on it, but it was tasty and went down well with olives at the table. Bread service alone was €2, so I was happy to order this dish with some tomato and olive oil on it instead for an extra €0.50.
For my main course I decided to go for the Sea Bream. I had a never heard of the fish before, but I was able to look it up using their free Wi-Fi and saw that it was considered to be a tastier and better textured fish than the sea bass that was on the menu for 2/3 the price. It was served in some sort of creamy butter sauce with some delicately sliced potatoes. It was a bony fish, so you had to be careful with your bite sizes, but it definitely went down nice.
For dessert, I opted for the Chocolat Coulant. This again was very good, and a good way to end the meal. We actually had a pretty decent selection of desserts that I would've been happy with many of them.
I am hoping to make it here at least once more before I have to leave this wonderful city. I posted pictures of my dishes. read more
