The old "bait and switch"... Came here to buy a vehicle after doing quite a bit of research. I had a sales person get me to make an appointment and had them calling and texting me multiple times during the day to confirm that I was coming in and able to keep my appointment. Once I was there the vehicle that I had originally come to see was a pile of junk, however they got me to test drive a similar vehicle. Everything was going well however once I told them I wanted to sleep on it, they brought in their "closer". Still ok at this point and they ran my credit, told me they could finance me for the vehicle, with a good rate and payment schedule. So far so good. As soon as they got done having me fill out paperwork, they come back and tell me that the vehicle that I just test drove and was about to buy was already sold, and had been sold a week ago. The guy who bought it actually came to pick it up while I was in their office doing the financing paperwork. Their excuse was that they didn't know until just then that it had been sold, saying "could we interest you in a different vehicle?" One that would just happen to cost several thousand dollars more. Had I known that vehicle was not for sale, I wouldn't have spent three hours testing it,talking with the salesperson about it, and getting my credit run in order to finance it. I find it very hard to believe that this dealership doesn't know which of their own vehicles are available, especially when the one that they told me was available had been sold a week prior. Found a car on their website, no price listed. There's an option to ask for an e-price, so I did. I received a reply back to tell me the car was still available & to come down. That's not what I was inquiring about. I replied to their email, again asking about the price. It's been two days and still no reply. So, yesterday I called. When someone finally answered the phone, all I was able to get out was "I have a question about such-and-such car" before I was put on hold for 5 minutes so he could see if the car was available. I wanted to know the price, that way I don't waste my time and gas to go to the dealership only to find out the car was more than I can afford. After 5 minutes on hold, and still no response to my question, via phone or email, I hung up. To me, this is bad customer service. I don't want my time wasted, as I'm sure most people don't. I would like to not give Carzone a star at all, but that's not an option. I'll look elsewhere for a car. read more

let me just get right to the point, TAKE YOUR BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE. They sell over priced lemons and know nothing about being salesmen. They are ALL rude and I'm surprised they haven't gotten sued yet (yet, cause I've called my attorney). they sold us a 2015 Hyundai Elantra that misfired the 3rd day we drove it off the lot. took it back they said their mechanic drove it for about 30 minutes and it drove fine so they said nothing was wrong with the car. ( they didnt even bother reading it and had it for 3 days just to say nothing was wrong) So that day I went and got it scanned myself and there was a code which read that there was something misfiring in the engine so we took it back to them and had to get a SECOND loaner. And instead of being apologetic that they sold us a piece of junk, they said we can't get the car until we've given them proof of residency (which we have, but just goes to show how poorly managed this place is). and we've been paying our payments on time, even early. So just take these reviews serious and take your business somewhere else. Not worth your money unless your looking for a lemon. read more

Being from Vegas, it's hard to find a reliable used car, especially a car that has a clean carfax. I was looking for Hummer. After searching Las Vegas and LA, I came out empty handed. I was able to see the Carzone had one, so before I made the trip, I wanted to make sure it was clean. I contacted Rich and was great! Very responsive and extremely attentive to my needs. My biggest concern was the car being at a great value. It had a clean carfax, but as we know those can be deceiving. After getting to Reno, I asked a mechanic to check out the car and it was exactly what the carfax said. It was clean, reliable, very well maintained and was ready to be driven off the lot... so I did!! I was helped by this employee named Francisco and he was so friendly and knowledgeable! He knew everything he was talking about and was very persuasive. But there was never any pressure from him to buy a car. I told him what I was looking for a car and he managed to find a car that surpassed all of those requirements. This review is going to be a little lengthy as it will have my full HORRIBLE experience. I purchased a car from CarZone 4/2017. I fell in love with the Lincoln Navigator they had, we needed something with a lot of room for our kids, dogs and business equipment. Not even 5 days after getting my car the check engine light came on, I immediately called them and expressed my concern. I was told by Beau the manager to bring it in and they would fix it no problem. I took it in and was told they were going to take it and run the codes (I already knew what they were in case they tried to yank my chain, Catalytic Converter) they came back and said the light went off. I called them out on clearing the codes and they said "NO we would never do that, that is not how we do business) I clearly expressed my concern and demanded to know what they found. All they said was they would keep my car for a day or two and drive it about 40 miles to make sure it didn't come back on. They had my car for a week, I called every single day to get answers and would get nothing. They did give me a loaner which was a mess, it was a small Mazda and was hard to fit my family in let alone go shopping. I didn't feel safe in it as the splash guard under kept partially falling and hitting the wheels as I was driving. I would have to stop on the HIGHWAY with my kids and put it back up just to get to where I was going. Once I got my car back (1st time) I drove it NOT EVEN 60 miles and the light came back on. I called and laid into Beau the Manager; he decided to have me bring the car in ONLY because I threatened to contact the BBB (should have done that before and cheeked reviews) and the ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE to conduct an investigation at their lots. I told him loud and clear they better do something this time and not jerk me around, they insisted they would. I called again every day to check on my car and was told they replaced the CATALYTIC CONVERTER and would need to keep it and drive it about 40 miles. When I called a day later they told me this was basically out of their mechanics league and sent it to All About Cars. 3 days later I demanded answers on my car and they said they drove it 40+ miles and the light didn't come on. It was fixed and I could go get it. They must have thought I was stupid because I took a picture of my mileage before I handed them the keys.... They drove it not even 10 miles after LYING and telling me they drove it 40+ miles!!! I had a loaner car longer than I have had my car in a month. They said they sent me the papers in the mail to register it (the temp tag expired when they had it) but I never got anything then they tried to tell me that information comes from the finance company. Please check reviews, look up the BBB and listen to what others have to say, this place doesn't care about anything other than money in their pockets. Screw the hard working people who come up with a down and want to enjoy a new to them vehicle. This is supposed to be a HAPPY time in people's lives but mine was FAR from that. I have several people looking to buy a car and after hearing what I went through they will not step foot on this lot. They should not be in business, their mechanics are not even certified (per the DMV they are to be) and this company doesn't care. So I am from Scottsdale and I have an aunt and uncle in Reno. When I was visiting for a few weeks, I let them know I was looking for a car. They said that they did not know a lot of car dealerships in the area but they have heard of a place called CarZone. They did not know much about but I thought it was worth looking up. I did as much research as one should do before I got tired of looking at my computer screen so I decided to just go in. The worst they could do is try to sell me a car right? That is exactly what they did and I could not have been more excited for it. I met with a guy named Phil who was my car sales guy and I told him what I was looking for. I wanted a nice, reliable, and safe compact car. They had a few options but there was only one that stood out to me. It was this race red Ford Focus. Man oh man did I love to see that car. The moment I looked at it, I imagined myself drag racing in it. It was so sweet. Phil let me take a peek inside and what not. It only had like 23,000 miles on it and it look brand new. I took my time thought and checked out the whole car. I did not want to buy something that was going to break down on me. Everything checked out great and Phil was super patient with me. He did not push me too hard either. Pushy car sales men make me want to punch myself. Phil was great to me the entire time. Once I had decided I wanted that one, I told them I did not want to buy it today. Phil was a bit confused because I was so excited about it but I wanted to go home and talk about it with my aunt. After talking about it later that night I had made the decision that I wanted it. When I came back the next day, it was still there. No one made a grab for it. I told Phil I wanted that dang thing and then we began the process. I have to say that the fun did not end there. When I went to get all the finances done for this thing Beau really went out of his way to help make this deal good for me. This part has been the most stressful for me most of the time because I feel so awkward asking money things. But Beau was not awkward about it, he allowed me to talk with him and he helped me understand all of that finance junk. When the day was done, I left super excited to drive this puppy off the lot. I was lucky I did not get pulled over in my little focus. I was so pumped. What made it better was the sweet experience I had with CarZone. I took my car with me back to Scottsdale and it was a smooth ride the whole way home. I never thought I would buy a car out of state but there is a first time for everything. But really, thank you CarZone for making this car purchase awesome and worth it. You are all amazing and I really appreciate the patience and care you had for me! I tried Carmax and compared with Carzone and theirs was cleaner and one thousand less. The interest rate they got me was a quarter point less than Carmax which wasn't much, but why not. Initially the experience was quite good I picked out a car, an 03 Lincoln Navigator I was told the motor was serviced and that it passed smog and was in great condition overall. I did most of my pre-qualifying and down payment arrangements over the phone. When I arrive the car was not in the condition as explained or in the photos. Nevertheless I took it home proud of my purchase I ended up financing with in-house. Less than 30 days into ownership the radiator blew up causing irreparable damage to the motor block which was not repaired. They reluctantly agreed to fix with some arm-twisting. Then the roof began to leak when it went through a carwash period then one month later the radiator blew again. They're repair of the radiator the first time they used water instead of coolant. $500 later on II repair. In the last month or two it has begun misfiring repeatedly. Most recently had to replace all 4 catalytic converters muffler shop said there's no way this car could have passed smog, he also stated that this car was rigged to pass smog. $1,400 later the car most recently was in the shop for a misfire again. The misfire was attributed to from the evaluation of the Master Tech due to the initial first blowing out the radiator which cause irreparable damage to the block this car was already a time bomb. They owe me a replace my car or return of my payments and down payment. A lot of deception clearly read more

Two days later I call them and ask for an update on my credit application , they never started it. An hour later I told them I'll put $2,000 down and want to pay a maximum of $350 a month on a $14,000 car ... I was told I'll be contacted within an hour. 3 days later nothing. They obviously don't want money because they are not working for it ... They lost me as a customer . 4 years ago I bought a Dodge ram from them paid $12,500 in cash for it. Why want I called yesterday so that I didn't have to drive 3 hours for no reason. Wouldn't recommend any of my customers or friends or family to go to this dealership.... Cars are cheap there for a reason..... Let my wife get a car there while I was at work was a big mistake! Got a 2006 Lexus hybrid and the car smelled like straight cigs and trash. Spent my Sunday only day off detailing it myself. Then noticed the back seat head rests are missing, DVD players in the head rest don't even turn on. Tires are junk and it needs shocks in the rear. (They replaced the tires and rear shocks for us) but the front differential case is leaking and making noise (lots of metal in the pitch black fluid) and the radiator is leaking and needs to be replaced. The back seat behind the passenger side doesn't roll down. It's a joke! Went to the place and cussed them out this is not acceptable at all they should clean and inspect the cars before putting them on the lot. Put 5426.00 down payment for junk! I am in the automotive business deal with over 600 customers a month and this is not a way to conduct business at all....... read more

We told him what we were looking for and that my credit wasn't the greatest. He was very rude and condescending about my credit, I gave him no reason to be this way. I had already been approved for a loan somewhere else and decided to still shop around. Semper Fi. Currently waiting in hotel for vehicle that I returned for repairs (Due Bill) because the shop did not have parts in stock when I purchased. I booked hotel for a night because I live 4 hours from carzone. When this service appointment was booked, I was assured the parts were here to fix. Although I showed up 15 minutes late because of summer road construction, there was only one person working (Filipino Phil). He was able to recruit someone to shuttle to a local hotel, although I was told they would offer me a car when I purchased. Aside from work to be completed (I will report how they do), I've had a good experience with everyone's attitude although getting paperwork (title) was slightly delayed. Bo (Mr Montana), Brittany & Sheila helped track this down. Even though I was delayed a week I was able to make my appointments in time. I cannot comment on service department because it is not located on-site. Reading some reviews from BBB & Yelp this seems to be an issue. I will post follow-up after results of service. This dealership is by far different from the rest. As many lots as I've walked on with lame sales tactics, this one by far made me feel the most comfortable. I was literally leaving the lot, and the salesmen said have a nice day. At that point I turned around feeling like there was no pressure with no pushy salesmen. Seem to have a good selection. We found a car we liked then came financing. BTW the big sign on their lot says your job is your credit. Sounds easy right? No not easy took forever waiting and waiting then I leave to get lunch. Now mind you the car was priced at $11,999.00. I was offering $2500.00 down. My credit is not horrible. I have worked for the State of Nevada for 8 years! So 2 hrs later they call me and say I need more down? More then 21% down? Why would I need more then 20%. Well if you use KBB and look at the car they have it over priced and will not negotiate at all. So a bank wont loan more money then a car is worth. Overall Bad service not honest people. Unfortunately, I can't give Car Zone (lot #1) a '0.' I purchased a 2003 Ford Lariat with low mileage for $20K, Trailer Brake and it was loaded. I guess I should have known it was too good to be true. Obviously, the owner of the lot did not thoroughly inspect the vehicle. It had low mileage, but I had to replace the Turbo, gaskets and valves a little after a year. He never returned my calls or emails. I finally got fed up with the truck and purchased a 2018 Ram 2500. Don't purchase anything from this lot. You will be incredibly disappointed in the vehicle and you will never hear from this guy. He only wants to make a sale, doesn't do his due diligence, and will never return a call. Bought two cars recently from Carzone, had to replace tires on both vehicles right away. One of the vehicles within a week of purchase had a flat tire. The other vehicle brake light came on and found that the brakes were at only 5% - and per the safety inspection law they should have not sold the vehicle in that condition. When we went back to the dealership to report the "mis-haps", we were very understanding and noted that it was probably the company that they hired to do the safety inspections and requested that we get compensation back for the brakes and rotors that had to be replaced, not the tires. They gave us nothing but the run around. We are filing a complaint with the BBB and the Department of Motor Vehicles. As we have come to find out they are obligated to do a standard safety test which would have uncovered these problems and avoided potentially a horrific accident(s). read more

Vehicle I bought needed a part. Which happens. They told me it would be ready a certain day, due to only having one mechanic that worked on AC systems. Had to end up waiting two weeks for vehicle. Purchased a Lincoln Aviator with 70,000 miles on it. Paid cash and traded in my sedan. Within 24 hours the shifter was getting stuck in park. Brought the car back and left it overnight- was told they found the problem and replaced the shifter. Within 3 days same issue would occasionally happen. Decided we would look into getting it fixed by a mechanic we trusted. Less than 3 months and only 4,000 miles later- I'm visiting family in California alone with just my 5 month old son. Crossing a bridge when my transmission light comes on and my car no longer maintains a safe freeway speed. Had to have my car towed ($200) to a shop where it was found to have metal shavings throughout the faulty transmission! I had to have THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION REPLACED for $3800. When I called the car lot I was basically told "oh well" because I didn't finance an overpriced warranty through them. They sold us an unsafe car and offered us nothing. For the safety of your families I would not recommend purchasing from this lot. Let alone all the money you can be out for mechanical problems. read more
