Beautiful spring green Walla Walla onions, hard to find, were available at Paradise Produce and delicious. They also had resh Oregon berries, the delicate gems were just on the cusp of being past edible given how fragile they are once picked. But at last Paradise had them when others didn't. With so many good produce alternatives in Bend, this isn't one I think of often, but AOK for what it is. Thumbs up for the fact that they are finally wheelchair accessible at front here, old location was step up. Small paved lot at back also has accessible parking.

I've always thought that maybe she was having a bad day and always try to approach her in a friendly manner.I work in customer service and know that it is difficult to continually answer questions and handle people that are difficult. But it doesn't matter, she's always salty and a couple of weeks ago she was the worst. Admittedly, they do have a few people that are always helpful. But with their issues with the app lately, im going to try to find other places to go as often as I can.

They decided to trade in the corporate grind for their life's passion...owning a farm, land and taking great care of all of their animals. We stayed at the beautiful Pronghorn Resort and requested from the concierge a day of horseback riding. They scheduled us with a real treat by booking us a two hour riding excursion at Slice Ranch (located less than 15 min away from the resort). We SOO enjoyed our few hours with Todd and Nate who warmly greeted us from the start. They promptly gave us a tour of the grounds, had us fill out minimal but required paperwork, and then introduced us to all of their animals (horses, fainting goats, donkeys, hens, dogs, etc.). Next we went thru a brief but detailed horse instruction lesson (lasted 25-30 min total). Following that, we were off for a nice easy trail ride with them along a couple miles loop. The scenary, horses and their company was just awesome! We REALLY can't say enough about these guys and the relaxed, beautiful experience we had there. We HIGHLY recommend Slice Ranch! Do yourself a favor, go unwind and do something different and truly see and enjoy Bend (A.K.A. God's country). Todd and Nate will make sure you do. Oh, and don't forget to buy some of their hens' farm fresh eggs!!! We WILL be back...and plan to even stay in the guest apartment they are almost finished building on their land.

I Just love to visit other towns Farmers Markets when I have the opportunity. Since we were…read morespending a week in Bend, Oregon I was happy that I would get to attend their weekly market. Their market runs from May - October and is located in downtown Bend in Brooks Alley. It was not as big as I had hoped but there was still an ample amount of fruits, veggies, meats, baked goods, flowers, pies, and other vendors showing their products. What I was so excited about was how fresh the produce was. Being a desert dweller, so much of our produce has to travel in from other places and it tends to get so dry. The strawberries here were just so juicy! The red peppers were gorgeous. After we walked around for a bit, It was close to lunch to I ordered a wood fired pizza. Fresh out of the oven, it was just what we needed. There are tables where you can eat or you can walk down to Drake Park and enjoy a great view of the Deschutes River while you dine. All the vendors were friendly and helpful and when I return I will attend again.

Well if you're ever in Bend, Oregon (and are wondering the same thing) we'd recommend giving their Farmer's Market in the Northwest Crossing neighborhood a try. If I were to overly simplify the local vibe I'd describe it as laidback. Not like the SoCal surfer mindset where most things are deemphasized in importance ("Dude, you should just chill!), but more like the quality of life mindset where living and appreciating each moment carries great value ("Man, isn't it great to be HERE right now?"). Clearly participating in the proverbial "rat race" holds little value in this place. Hosted every Saturday (June-September, 10:00-2:00) you'll find a wide array of unique booths to stroll by. You might expect the fresh produce, but may be surprised by the honey, gourmet mushrooms, grass fed beef, pies, hummus, and soaps. The emphasis here is on the local products that they proudly produce. We heard about the Farmer's Market from several of the locals and they suggested that spending 2 hours is pretty typical. While we wondered if that might be more than we needed, we found ourselves losing track of time because we became immersed in meandering about just soaking up the atmosphere and chatting with the locals (both the attendees and the vendors). They told me it was my problem as I didn't check their confirmation email, which only says they are getting them ready to ship. I assumed that meant staging for December.
