My esthetician stepped out of the room for a while while my mask was on instead of giving me a scalp massage (as I expected). There also wasn't as much explanation about the products being applied or the steps of the treatment, which would have enhanced the experience. The facial itself was fine-I can't really complain but the overall experience could have been more attentive and aligned with what I expected. Also note this spa isn't one where you go and wait in a nice room. You change right in the room you are having your treatment in. I was offered some tea but in a small paper cup but no time to really drink it because off I went into the room. Mind you, I did show up exactly at my facial appointment time.

I received a text confirmation AND email confirmation as well as a form to fill out prior to the appointment as well as a note that cancellations less than 24 hours prior to appt would result in being charged for the cost of the appt. I have no issue with this. Today on March 3, less than one hour before my confirmed appointment I got a call from Gee Beauty explaining they needed to cancel the appointment, with no reason, couldn't offer a new rescheduled appointment, didn't offer an alternative time, or day and when I questioned why and how they can do this but charge their customers when they cancel- the person hung up on me. I called back twice and my calls went straight to voicemail. I left a voicemail- no reply, I then called later the same day and Sarah picked up, I explained the situation and asked about the poor service and she hung up on me. So AVOID GEE BEAUTY - a once amazing, customer centric family run business is now being run by a bunch of ignorant, deplorable, rude and entitled kids that hang up on clients. Take your $300 and spend it anywhere else for a facial. NO one deserves to be treated like that.

The package was left unattended, and although a delivery photo was provided, I did not sign for or receive the parcel. When I contacted the company, they declined to reship or refund the order because the carrier marked it as delivered. My request to escalate the matter went unanswered. It's disappointing that a longtime customer was left to absorb the loss without any meaningful resolution. I made an appointment after work, and I arrived on time. First impression, it was clean and well kept. I had to wait about 15 minutes while the hairdresser (I think Gary) was finishing up with another client. It was fine, I was not in a rush. When it was my turn, Gary greeted me and he was a ball of energy. He mentioned it was a really busy day and he made himself an espresso (offered me one too) and began washing my hair. It seemed like he was in a rush and washed quite quickly. He consulted me on how I wanted to get it cut, and I explained, and showed him a couple quick examples. I just wanted some layers. He said that will be easy and started cutting my hair. He was quite speedy, which was concerning at first, but I was chatting with him the whole time and became distracted. Gary is a great conversationalist! After the cut, he round-brushed my hair and it had some curls. It looks nice and I was satisfied. He quickly cashed me out and went off to his next client. My entire appointment lasted about 40 minutes from washing to cashing out. So why the three stars? Today I straightened my hair and I think it looks ridiculous! Left side, top layers appear to be significantly shorter than the bottom layer; whereas the right side is blended pretty well. I am not happy with this. The experience at the salon was a solid 5 stars, but the cut... 1. I might still go back to them for a quick blow-out, but I am a little skeptical about getting my hair cut. In fact... I will have to be careful about rushed appointments in general. I want to recommend this salon, but I am torn. Please make sure you talk to them carefully about how you want your hair cut, and inspect it carefully after.

Didn't burn my eyes at all, smells amazing, and my hair a month later looks AWESOME!! Gerti is excellent! He's incredibly thorough and thoughtful. Took care to comb the treatment meticulously through my frizzy damaged hair, root-to-tip, then took the time to blowdry then straighten with an iron. He was very knowledgeable and professional and really seemed to care about my hair, unlike many stylists who rush through the process.

The thing is that they carry quite a few items with synthetic fragrances that are not marked as synthetic and are passed off as green when they are anything but. I have asked several times to at least mark such products because reading the labels and ingredient list on the website does not tell you anything and who wants to research everything they buy on the items home website as well? We pay a premium at the detox market for them to do the vetting for us, but they are not doing the vetting on fragranced items and they don't care to. Who would do a detox using petroleum, derived synthetic fragrances? Nobody who knows what they're doing. I don't care if a synthetic fragrance is pthalate-free, I care that it's in the product at all because it will make me very ill. For example, most of the LOHN candles have synthetic scents in them. I had to go through a four hour transaction to find out why the candles my girlfriend bought me were making me ill when they came from the detox market. This is a very major concern because synthetic fragrance made from petroleum is not green or clean. Also, whenever I have received teas from the detox market, they don't say they come from organic herbs, and I'm quite sure some of the triangle teabags had micro plastics in them again you have to be vigilant and ask they are not doing the work for you; you are just paying them too. Otherwise, I have found the customer service very helpful and some great brands available. In my mind, there's too much plastic and packaging for some of those products so I need to be mindful of that when purchasing. Please read all the ingredients because there is a spectrum of "Eco" products available here. Mara, Agent Nature, Innersense, Living Libations and some goop products are good. Living Libations is as clean as you can get as well as being Canadian! Kjaer Weis is the cleanest make up with the least packaging and the most sustainable packaging.
