I visited for a facial and overall it was good. The space itself was lovely -- the room and table were comfortable. The blankets were soft, warm and I felt relaxed right away. That said, when comparing my experience to my companion's, I realized there were some differences. My esthetician stepped out of the room for a while while my mask was on instead of giving me a scalp massage (as I expected). Usually that's what happens during a treatment while waiting for a treatment to work. There also wasn't as much explanation about the products being applied or the steps of the treatment, which would have enhanced the experience. The facial itself was fine-I can't really complain but the overall experience could have been more attentive and aligned with what I expected. Also note this spa isn't one where you go and wait in a nice room. You change right in the room you are having your treatment in. I was offered some tea but in a small paper cup but no time to really drink it because off I went into the room. Mind you, I did show up exactly at my facial appointment time. read more

I honestly really like the facials I've received here and the treatments... What I don't agree with is their business practices. I booked a $99 facial online and selected their soonest available appointment. It wasn't until after my treatment while paying that they let me know that this deal was expired and I now had to pay $135. What's worse is that they had a new facial deal going for $99 that was never offered to me instead. Essentially, I was never given the opportunity to switch facials or notified that my $99 facial that I booked I couldn't receive. This felt extremely deceptive and a bad business practice. Very disappointing experience at Pure + Simple King St W location. It was my first time here and I had Aga? as my esthetician who supposedly had been here for 15 years. The consultation at the beginning felt very judgmental as I talked about my skin concerns and routine. She criticized areas of my skin and immediately suggested that I need the sea salt or aquadermabrasion treatment which I declined. The actual procedure (Revitalizing Pear Facial) was nothing special and extractions were carelessly done. The scalp and décolleté massage was not good at all. However, the worst part was after the facial when she was recommending products to me. As she was going around the store getting samples, she said you can get these products "when you make more money." I was taken aback at this rude comment and her assumption that this would be my situation just because I wasn't interested in purchasing their products. I also kept getting lectured on how these "preventative measures" are key and I would have to spend much more on procedures in the future if I didn't follow them. Overall, this was not a relaxing environment or experience and I left feeling much worse than when I had walked in. My skin felt dehydrated within 2 hours. Please train your staff on how to have good customer service and create a positive experience. I will never be back. read more

I scheduled an appointment for a detox facial for 5:00 p.m. on Thursday July 20th. For some reason during my booked I was told that I should book the super hydrating facial. I explained I wanted a deep clean or detox facial. I was booked for 5:00 p.m. and ensured that was sufficient time for my appointment. I arrived a few minutes before 5:00 p.m. for my appointment. I was told by the Esthetician there was no time for my treatment and I would have to have a simple facial or hydrating facial. this was told to me while I was already laying on the Esthetician table and having my face worked on. This was extremely disappointing. I insisted again to the Esthetician I wanted a detox facial or something geared towards my recently problematic skin. During the entire facial I was lectured about diet and skin care regime (among other musings), both which I have a formal education on and adhere to already. There was absolutely no relaxation, only hearing chatter the whole time. There was only very rushed, quick extractions and I felt extremely rushed through the entire process. Samples were provided, although they were pre packaged already. No customized skin care was provided nor was the facial customized. It was just the Pure and Simple facial, but in actuality it was the express facial. I was told there was no time for the masks involved in the detox facial. I could do without the scalp massage. I came for a facial to solve a skin issue. I left $95.00 in the hole, and my skin looks worse than it did before I came in. I would stick to my old Esthetician, Janina who is a bit farther out but would likely spend way more time and care with my face. Even smaller, lesser known salons/spas would use produced based on customization not just a limited package such as Studio Two at College Park. At Studio Two they apply a range of products based on what your skin needs. Not confined by a pre packaged price. I cannot believe I did not listen to the negative reviews of this spa chain. I show up on time and get a different, lesser treatment than what I tried to book at no fault of my own. read more

I went to Pure+Simple to do IPL body hair removal (laser). I was very well received and explained in detail the procedure, that considering that I have thick black hair on fair skin, the results would be great and I would be looking at 4 sessions + 1 extra maintenance session one year later. I agreed on a medium sized area plus a small area and paid full price in advance. On my first session, the therapist told me they don't use any type of topical anaesthetic because "she needs to know when it's too much". That left me a little bit suspicious - I thought an experienced laser therapist would KNOW exactly how much intensity they can use in order to avoid burns, instead of relying on the customer for that. It was the very first red flag. She proceeded to do the medium area - it was TERRIBLY PAINFUL - and *forgot* about the small area. I told her there was still more lasering to do and was told "I must remind her about it". On every single subsequent session, she forgot about the small area again. After four sessions, I still had hair growing back and came back for the 5th to make sure I wasn't missing something. Not surprisingly, the hair grew back. After three months of the last treatment, it looked like I never had done laser before. So, in short, I paid thousands of dollars upfront for a service that caused me pain and didn't work at all. When I called them about the problem, I was told I could schedule more sessions with a 10% discount - which I obviously didn't, I'm not paying a thousands minus 10% to get zero results again. Don't EVER go there. They have no idea of what they're doing. read more

I came to Pure + Simple for an IPL treatment for my rosacea. I've had a number of IPL treatments in the past and they've been very helpful, but I'm new to the city so I needed to find a new clinic. I booked an IPL treatment with Pure + Simple because the reviews were good and the price was reasonable. But unlike the previous clinic I used to go to, this treatment simply didn't work. I suspect that the IPL machine wasn't turned up high enough -- it hurt less than what I've experienced in the past, and there wasn't any bruising/swelling, which I've also experienced in the past. In other words, this seemed like a "gentle" IPL treatment -- not harmful, but also not helpful. There was more of a spa-like atmosphere in the clinic, as opposed to medical/dermatological. They probably do spa treatments well. Everyone was pleasant and the atmosphere was nice enough. But I definitely don't recommend using it for rosacea or other dermatology-type things. I feel a little guilty giving it one star, given that the service was good, but the rating was chosen based on the benefit it gave me. Considering that I have had excellent results from IPL before, this was a disappointment and a waste of money. read more

This review is coming from someone who has had maybe 500 facials in her life...at the age of 11 or 12 started to get really bad acne so started going for facials every month sometimes twice a month, bad skin continued to my late 20's and no one had been able to calm my skin down till I started seeing Tamila at Pure and Simple King street. This women works magic I tell you, it is by far the best facial I have ever had in my life and at a very reasonable price. Have gone to some of the best spa's in the city one being Stillwater and had paid over $150 and was never satisfied with the services. @ Pure and Simple this is what I love: 1. quiet, small intimate space 2. They use all natural or Organic products...their own line is pretty spectacular....there's nothing worse then getting a facial and then putting crap on your face by this I mean products loaded with chemicals...I also buy their makeup and my skin has never reacted to it as in breaking out 3. Great price - you get what you pay for, most places when they put a facial mask on you the aesthetician always leaves the room for like 20 mins, here you get a arm massage, shoulder massage or scalp depending on the treatment you are getting. 4. Love the staff - I've never ever had a problem with any of the staff and have been coming to pure and simple for over 3 years now both the king and yonge locations...always super nice to me and offering me either water or tea when I come in, they also give me samples of the new products that I want to test out 5. WOW! I'll preface my review by stating that I am not a spa person - not because I don't like spas, but because I have found them in the past to be an unnecessary luxury. After 1 visit to Pure + Simple though, I'm HOOKED. I'm a person with generally very good skin - I don't have major breakouts, and the worst my face will get is a zit or two MAYBE once a month. A 3 week trip to Iceland + Italy changed my skin for the worst! In the last 4 days of trip, my face BROKE OUT, like never before. I had breakouts on my forehead, between my brows, my cheeks, my chin, my upper lip, LITERALLY EVERY WHERE. Needless to say, I was quite traumatized!! On my way home, I desperately googled Spas + Facials, and I really stumbled upon Pure + Simple. I decided to give them a try because of their philosophy of natural products + their unbeatable price point for their basic facial. Once I landed at Pearson - I was on the call with Pure + Simple and luckily they had an opening that same day! When I arrived, I was given a short questionnaire to fill out and was introduced to my esthetician, Shadi. Shadi was incredibly sweet, understanding, and sympathetic to my trauma. She was reassuring throughout the entire facial and made me feel a lot better about my situation. I will 100% book with her again. The treatment itself was unlike anything I've ever had! Now granted, I've only had 1 other facial (8 years ago!), but still, I could tell that pure + simple were the REAL FACIAL GURUS. They had a really cool steam machine that Shadi moved over my face, and the steam gentle opened up my pores while she massaged my face with essential oils - and whatever else magical ingredients she had. I felt at once relaxed. The extractions - while never pleasant, were as painless as possible. Once the facial was done - I looked in the mirror and my face was GLOWING! Of course, I still had the bumps + acne on my face, but she managed to pop the most prominent ones and reduce the appearance of the acne greatly on my cheeks and my chin. She also offered me some great samples that I LOVE, and even went back a few days later to purchase. (black mud cream + aloe face wash). I ended up picking up some more things as well. I've already recommended this spa to several friends and I am REALLY looking forward to my next booking! read more

CHEMICAL BURNS. I know it's all natural, but that doesn't make it safe. I went for my first facial here, having never had one before. I have great skin, a lot of people even encouraged me not to mess around with my normal routine bc I didn't need it... Really just wanted to treat myself to something different. The experience was great, the people were nice and helpful. I even bought a mini facial kit to take the experience home to my boyfriend. A day later I broke out. It lasted for over a month. I have never seen my skin so bad. But I'll take some acne over what my boyfriend got... After treating my bf to the 5 step facial, he noticed some burning to his face. Within a few hours it looked like a savage sunburn had slapped his cheeks HARD. This peeling, rosacea burn to his face lasted 3-4weeks. It got to the point where we thought it was going to be permanent as it was showing zero signs of relenting and plateaued at horrible. We were a few days and several peeled layers of skin away from going to a doctor. This is a man who hasn't had any allergic reactions in his 30yrs of life. I would not recommend the products. Stick with what you know, or try Dermalogica. read more

Pure + Simple spas have buzz, and it's no hype. After reading Kristen Ma's book, Beauty: Pure + Simple, and hearing from a number of my friend's about this spa, I decided to try a facial. Wow! It's a soothing experience and so reassuring to know that the ingredients used are natural, and that the spa is concerned with how skin reacts to chemicals and non-organic ingredients. The aesthetician can assess your body/skin type and use different products accordingly, and will treat particular problems with your skin. After Christmas, I went to buy the facial cleansing products branded Pure + Simple (made in Toronto from natural ingredients Yay!). I got cleanser, toner, exfoliant and moisturizer. My skin feels healthy and moist, even though its dismal January when my face is often dry from the weather. The aesthetician didn't push products on me, and they have a number of different lines in the spa, not just the P+S branded products. read more

It was my first time at Pure + Simple and I had the Aquabrasion Deluxe facial (special right now for $149). The receptionist told me it was 1hour and 15min, but the whole treatment only lasted 1hour. It was a packed one-hour experience: 15 min of cleansing/exfoliating, 15 min of aquabrasion treatment, and 30 min of mask/relaxation massage. The aquabrasion facial is unlike anything I have had. It is basically a mini pressure washer for your face. Cold puffs of mists will be applied to your lymph nodes and your entire face. I have to say it is not your typical "relaxing" facial experience. The machine is loud, the mists are cold, and I had to hold my breath a few times when it comes close to my nose. BUT...none of that mattered, because my face was supple, soft and super duper clean after the facial - and there were no red patches from irritation! My skin is very sensitive. I have never had a facial this clean and effective, without silly blotches for the next 48 hours. I will be back. read more

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I'm not much of a spa girl. I've had three massages in my life, never had a manicure, and just had my first pedicure about a month ago. Pure and Simple is the kind of spa that would turn me into a spa girl. Two of the three facials I've had in my life have been here, and I've been really impressed. The facility on King St is small for sure, but the staff is so friendly, and it's such a relaxing space that the size doesn't matter. I love that everything is natural, and they believe in working with your skin rather than using harsh chemicals. I found the staff to be really helpful as well - both the receptionist and the technician who did my facial. The facial itself was lovely, and I was really impressed with the technician. I had booked one type of facial, but after analyzing my skin, she suggested that another type would be better for me. That alone gave me confidence in her abilities and knowledge, that she could know which would be best and wasn't going to just blindly do what I (with no knowledge on the subject) had chosen. The fact that they give you a massage while the mask sits is amazing. It was just what I needed, and really made me feel totally pampered. And my skin looked fantastic afterwards! I was trying to see if I can give it a half star because that's how horrible their facial mask was. I've never been to their location but I was given a facial mask in a gift bag. I just tried it today and I was a bit hesitant as I heard of a case where a friend's friend had a chemical burn from their mask. Sure enough my face started burning up and my entire face was red for a few hrs. Thank goodness it wasn't as bad as what happened to that friend but a facial mask should never do that to you. It didn't even leave my skin moist. My skin ended up being very dry. I highly do NOT recommend their products. If your skin is sensitive do NOT risk it. It's not worth it. read more

Pure + Simple staff is very knowledgeable about their products and general skincare needs. I went in when I was in the process of switching from medicated products to natural products and was breaking out like crazy. I was almost ready to go back on the medicated face wash but the staff encouraged me to stick it out as it was just a phase, and suggested some products that were very helpful. Michelle took the time to help address my skincare/make up needs when my skin was going through a transition and I wasn't sure where to start. I was given a lot of samples, and she insisted I try everything out before buying anything. I was doing a lot of research over the internet at the time, so it was nice to have someone to talk to in person. I've also had a few facials there and they have been great; relaxing, thorough with extractions, and always make my skin look and feel better. I love that they use and carry all organic products; it's great for sensitive skin like mine. The Pure and Simple line of products is really nice. They have monthly sales and a bottle-recycling program for this line. My favourite product from this line is the lactic acid; it is the best exfoliator I've ever used. Disappointed. This was my second visit, I was very excited to re book after the first visit but the second experience was different from the first. Firstly we stated about 5 minutes late due to the esthetician, so my experience was a little shortened. Second my massages on face/neck area and scalp were shorter and not as nice at all. The face massage was done with rubber gloves on and it was borderline painful and irritating and not a heeling feel at all. It was like having a rubber face massage - not a relaxing feeling at all, my skin still hurts a little bit from it. The scalp massage was so short as well, whereas the first time I visited the scalp massage was spectacular. I left the first time feeling so much better and the second time feeling worse. I am not sure I will rebook. The esthetician on the second visit was perfectly nice of a person, but overall it was a very different experience from my first visit. Given such inconsistency I don't know if I will come back and try again. read more

Just wanted to post an update here. My skin has not yet fully recovered, but I'm on the mend with the help of some new products that I discovered online. Turns out that the moisture barrier was broken on my face, so in order to fix the problem I had to replenish it with specific products. The team at P&S has been very communicative with me about this, and I really do appreciate that. They did give me a complimentary treatment to help with the healing, along with a nice massage. The jury is still out on whether or not I'll be back again but it was nice of them to take my problem so seriously. So I guess YMMV with the aqua dermabrasion, It must work for some people, since they offer it on special so often and it's such a popular place. Just be sure to be clear about your skin sensitivity with them beforehand and be careful not to put any harsh products on your face for a few days afterward. Another update on August 3rd - my face is still not back to normal. I'm still red and peeling in some places, so I definitely have to recommend against this treatment if you have very fair or sensitive skin. I really wish I just hadn't done it in the first place. read more

Very Impressed! This was my first time @ Pure + Simple and I've already booked my next facial :) I had the classic European Pure + Simple facial (only $74!!) and enjoyed the whole process. My esthetician examined my skin and asked me questions (what products I use, how it feels,etc) and came to the conclusion that I had dry skin -- which was a surprise to me, as I always considered my skin oily. The esthetician explained everything she was doing & which products she was using on my face. At the end of the facial, she suggested which products I should purchase for use at home. I did end up buying the Black Mud Facial Lotion (100ml for $50 - very well priced imo) I have been using it for about a week now but not entirely sure how I feel about it yet... plus, a week is still too early to tell. In the last week following my facial, I have noticed a few small breakouts. I'm not sure if this is due to the extractions? Or from cleaning out my skin (I'm fairly new to facials) or from the Black Mud lotion? I will monitor for a while longer. Next time, I will be sure to ask for samples before committing to a product as they have a NO RETURN / REFUND policy (unless your skin has an allergic reaction) Highlights: *organic products *friendly & knowledgeable staff *neck/shoulder/scalp massage ...and all at a great price! read more

I was pretty lucky to have Sharri as my aesthetician for my first facial back in August 2013. Very knowledgable, not just with the brand, but with holistic health in general. She really taught me a lot about taking care of my skin and my body. But, she has actually left Pure and Simple to teach instead. But, so far, I went back for two facials after my first one and each time I go back, it leads to a disappointment. The last facial I had before New Years was probably the one facial that gets me debating whether or not to return. The aesthetician was not knowledgable of the products she was using on me and the massage was very gentle. Had super dry skin before my facial and left with red, blotchy skin. Not gentle with extractions and extracted a few acnes that were not ready to come out - ended up with a bigger acne the next few days. Pure and Simple need more aestheticians like Sharri - really got me into the brand and really showed improvements in my skin after the facial along with the after-care she taught me. read more

With facials it's all about the details and Shadi paid attention to detail - super relaxing. And great smelling products which is always a treat. No pressure to buy and I left with samples. I've been going there for years now, and I must say I'm quite satisfied. The staff are super friendly, always willing to help and give advice about your skins condition. I had a bit of a scare, and a bit of a harsh extraction, but the management team managed to contact me right away and see if there was anything they would be able to do to assist me. I thought that was really great. After coming back for a complimentary oil rejuvenating face massage I got the advice I needed to heal, and recommendations on what I should do to keep my face nice and clear for the summer. I had a service at Pure and Simple a couple weeks ago. From the get go things were a bit strange and I am very unhappy with the experience. Firstly when booking online it didn't give me an option to choose an aesthetician. I found this strange since I can book who my service is with at pretty much every salon/spa/health clinic around. It was okay for me since I hadn't been to pure and simple before so I didn't have a preference but if I was planning to return this would be an essential feature to online booking for me. The aesthetician I ended up having was really disappointing. She gave me a really inappropriate massage going way too far down my chest than would ever be appropriate for a facial head/neck massage as part of a facial. She tugged at my hair during the head massage and without asking extracted my calcium spots with a needle during the treatment. She also used an exfoliation machine which was not part of the description of the facial and hurt quite a bit. At the end I felt uncomfortable from the massage and had oil nearly down to my belly button. To top it off before and after my treatment she continuously told me I needed microdermabrasian. She didn't base this on any other information about my skin and I felt like I was at a sales presentation. I'd recommend talking to your staff about massages with facials as well as parameters about the elements of the service. I have had many facials in the past and never had these bad experiences. This was uncomfortable and inappropriate and if you're going to do anything other than a neck and head massage during a facial it should be asked beforehand. I will not be returning to Pure and Simple again. read more

I was terrified when I went in for the deluxe salt microdermabrasion- what did I sign myself up for? I'd heard it had good results depending upon the place, but I was concerned about going to a spa that used products full of chemicals. It's also a scary, scary thing to have some magic wand scrapping your skin off by a complete stranger. I searched around online cautiously and found Pure + Simple. I loved the mantra behind their products and that they specialized in just facials. So I gave it a shot, and I ended up having the best facial in my entire life. Granted, it was $250 plus tip, so it's a treat, but it did the trick. My skin looks healthier and it's smoother- all done with great service by a kind, informed and communicative aesthetician by the name of Tabila. I am definitely going back- the experience was well worth the money. I especially liked that she didn't push product on me after the facial as I had already told her that I used another organic brand. It was a well done experience- nothing was rushed, the massages were amazing and we really talked about what was going on with my skin. I've been to Pure and Simple on King Street about 4 times now, and I love it more each time. I've had facials before, and always left tense, unimpressed, red and blotchy. I figured facials just weren't for me, but I'd heard so many good things about Pure and Simple I thought I'd give them a try. Appointments are easy to make as there is always someone to answer the phone. They give a reminder call 2 days before my appointment, which I greatly appreciate. The spa is small, attractive and very clean, with lots of products lining the walls. I was greeted promptly and warmly by the attendant at the desk and offered tea or water. I've been getting my facials from Cheri, who has a lovely warm and welcoming manner. She puts you right at ease and is professional without being stuffy. She is extremely knowledgeable and always remembers previous issues I've had. The treatment room is dark and relaxing, and smells terrific. They play spa music, but it is very pretty and soothing, not annoying and hokey like a lot of relaxation music. The treatment bed is my favorite. It's soft and heated and sooooo comfortable. All the products are natural and non-irritating and they smell heavenly. I've had a variety of treatments. I usually book whatever monthly special they are having. I've had microdermabrasion and the lumilift treatment which both include a cleansing facial. The extractions are so gentle that I usually fall asleep while they're being done.! I have rosacea and Cheri always makes sure to use products that won't irritate my sensitive skin. I've never had a facial that didn't leave me red and blotchy until I found Pure and Simple! The facials also include the most relaxing head, neck and arm massage. Cheri could just do massage full time if she wanted, she has a great touch. I find that my skin looks very young, fresh and healthy after having a treatment here, and I haven't had any dry patches since I started seeing Cheri. I'm a facial convert! My only quibble is that the treatment room is right off the main store/waiting area and you can hear people talking during the treatment. I'm usually too relaxed to care, but some may find it distracting. Other than that, great place. Highly recommend! read more

I've been going to the Pure and Simple spas for many years now (sad when the Oakville location closed!), and only trust them for facials. Love that they use all natural and organic products, and it's great that you can purchase them for use at home! I am in love with their Hydration Serum - it has made my skin extremely soft and kept me hydrated through the harsh Canadian winter. My favourite facial to date is the deluxe aquabraison facial. It feels wonderful, and the skin improves in the days following the treatment. I appreciate how they never push products on you, but instead after the treatments, they provide you with a product recommendation list and even show you what the bottles look like should you wish to purchase them at a later date. The original draw for me were the organic products & services offered and I have been coming back for years. I have been to a few of their locations and would rate all of them with the same high star rating. I have always been very satisfied with their facials. Very informative staff without a pushy sales approach. I continue to buy many of the Pure & Simple skin care products (eg. I am a loyal customer and I always will be, which is why it's so it's hard for me to not give them 5 stars. I love what Pure and Simple stands for, I love that I can find natural products at a fair price, I love their teas, I love the friendliness of the majority of their staff, and I love their facials. However, what I don't love is that they promote their products as helping with acne - If you want to know more about that skip to the large paragraph below but first I'd like to start with what i DO like about Pure and Simple: FACIALS: Recommend any facial - they are relaxing, and they always do a good job with extractions, and they aren't too expensive. My favourite is the hydrating facial since I have dry skin. Clarifying tea: Keeps me regular, I drink it every night before bed! Products: I like that they are all-natural and not too expensive. Currently I use their lip balms, lip gloss, cleanser, and moisturizer. They always have stuff on sale so sign up for their newsletter to keep up with the deals. Ok, so now for my not so great experience... When I first started going to Pure and Simple I was definitely getting a hard-sell from one of the employees that my skin care products are bad and I should switch to all natural skin care. I believe this to be very bad advice by their staff in regards to treating acne. I originally went to this location for a facial but mentioned that I was using acne products with chemicals and they explained why their natural approach was the way to go with acne prone skin. I won't get into the details but they basically told me a bunch of reasons why chemical based acne products (i.e. Retin A and benzol peroxide) are bad for my skin. They even had a book about the natural approach to skin care, which I bought and read. So I decided to use their products (cleanser, witch hazel, moisturizer). Within a week I basically began to form the worst acne of my life. **Please note that my skin was in fairly good condition when I first went to Pure and Simple - I got a pimple here and there but I've never had anything severe** After using their products for a few weeks i had cystic acne all over my face. I went back and they said that my skin was trying to "release years of dirt that's been repressed in my pores from my chemical based acne products". They also said that the acne could be a good thing because it's telling me there could be something wrong with me (i.e. maybe i have a soy allergy) and it's coming through my skin and that I should go search for what this problem might be. They also said to use lactic acid to help the acne. $50 later and this did not help. I also tried their clay mask and this did not help either. I tried to return the lactic acid but they told me that I need to use it longer even though my skin was clearly not reacting well to their products (at this point my skin was grossly cover in acne). I gave their skin regimen 3 months and my skin just got worse by the day with cystic acne all over. After my self confidence reached an all time low I went back on the benzol peroxide and within 3 months my skin was clear again. I am now left with hyperpigmention all over my cheeks from this break out. It's been 1.5 years since this breakout and the scars haven't faded yet! I tried chemical peels and microdermabrasion but it's too expensive to keep it up on a regular basis so I just have to let them fade naturally :( The moral of my story is - your skin is precious - do your research before deciding to change your acne regimen. I don't think Pure + Simple and their employees should be promoting their products as being able to cure acne without independent research to back up these claims. I know it worked for the owner but that doesn't mean it's going to work for everyone. Despite all of this I will still go back because they are one of the few places in the city that offer truly all-natural products without breaking the bank. Plus they do great facials (using natural products) and they have an amazing clarifying tea that I have to drink every day! read more

Extremely nice staff that will try to fit you in with short notice. The place is small and cute, located near downtown and with more locations around the GTA. I went in for a facial after searching everywhere for the best place around, this one came highly recommended. I saw a sweet lady by the name of Aga, and she was incredible. Her hands felt like heaven, everything from my face massage, to the sea salt microdermabrasion, to the masks, oxygen, and shoulder, neck, & head massage, it was all great! I've had many facials in the last 5 years and being in my mid 20s it is so important finding a place that has education employees, organic products, and a long term plan for my skin. I went to this Pure and Simple location again this weekend and I was glad to see a friendly face at the front that was eager to help me out and answer all my questions. Way better than my last visit here!! I got a few products that I am absolutely loving right now: the milk facial cleanser (great for sensitive skin), the vitamin c face serum (amazing) and I also tried the naturopathica vitamin K eye cream which is great for dark circles...ahh love pure+simple. read more

A good friend mentioned Pure and Simple to me a couple of weeks ago, and we discussed making an appointment for a facial sometime in the future. Two days later another friend mentioned Pure and Simple saying that she had just been there, and it was amazing. That was all the motivation I needed, so I booked an appointment for my first facial ever. Pure and Simple had a sale on their Super Hydrating Facial (regular $99, on sale for $75) so I decided that was just what I needed. I was booked in last night with Shari who did an awesome job. The environment is totally relaxing, the products are wonderful, and I was very happy with the results. The procedure was an hour long, but it felt like far less than that, and could have continued for another hour I was enjoying it so much. Shari explained the products to me, but was not trying to sell me a bunch of crap I would never use. She also gave me samples of the stuff she recommended. I think I will be replacing some of my Shopper's Drug Mart products with some of the reasonably priced Pure and Simple line. An excellent experience for my first facial! read more

They have been GREAT at resolving the problem and I truly feel my concerns were listened to and addressed. I really like their facials and the monthly promos (I buy a promo almost every month). Have never bought their products because I don't know much about them, I'd rather buy products based on EWG's Skin Deep® Cosmetics Database --they tell you which ones are the safest. read more

Pure and simple is consistently clean and the employees are always professional. I have extremely sensitive skin that is prone to breakouts and flare ups. I have always felt heard when addressing any skin issues which is rare compared to other spas I have been to. read more
