Yikes!! I called and placed a to go order and a nice guy answered and helped me. Said 15 min but it took much longer which was ok. Brought our food back and noticed our scampi was served with chopped lasagna noodles...what?!!! Supposed to be linguine, not sure how you messed that up not for one order but both??? Took one bite because I was starving and it was disgusting as you can tell from the photo. Called them to get refunded and when the manager got on the line she made an excuse for AM & PM cook maybe got confused and chopped the noodles by accident. Ummmm we are talking two different noodles? We offered to bring the food back and now it's after 8pm and we have to go find some other place to eat because we can't trust our food will be right or taste good.

Sushi
Yadira G.

Every time we come to carvers we always enjoy the food and service! Everything is always so delicious! We recently found out they had sushi and have been enjoying that more often. We always start off with the clam chowder and take our time deciding on what we'd like to enjoy for dinner. So so so delicious we love carvers.

Chicken wings

I really wanted the chicken wings and when I got it I was a bit.. nope i was VERY disappointed. It was dry and the Caribbean flavor was really just mae ploy. Not sure how that was Caribbean. Dont get me started with the size as well. My pinky was probably bigger on some of them. Sad.

Accidentally checked into the wrong one as I did not realize they have more than one location. Went…read morein here for a "fancy" coffee as the place we were eating for brunch only had drip coffee (the horror!). This is a cute place, with ample seating, dining room style, as well as a walk up counter if you just want to grab and go. They have a bit of merch and a sunny environment. Service was cheerful and efficient.

I ordered a mornin' sunshine sandwich using sausage and a croissant. The texture of the freshly…read morebaked croissant was phenomenal. The slight bit of crisp was peak, and the flavor of the sausage was also quite good. Additionally, the egg was soft and fluffy while the cheese inside the egg was noticeably stretchy. I believe this is the second Calico Cupboard I've been to. This chain seems to place plenty of effort into setting the right vibe with its building, decorations, everything. With that in mind, I think the La Conner one probably does this better with its almost fairy tale-esque location right on the river. Aside from that, uuuuhhh, this is awkward. I came here with my mom, and she left a one star review. I believe this is the first time this has happened as I review almost every restaurant I enter, but her account is essentially inactive, appearing only to cast shame on something unpleasant. If she saw this review, she would probably be angry. But I doubt she'll ever read this (hopefully). If she does...maybe it's worth it to write a high quality review. Lmao. Eating at a restaurant with her does give me a small opportunity as I think of myself as a low maintenance customer. Conversely, she has specific requests, and I get to observe how much each restaurant is willing to accommodate. Recently, she will always order a veggie egg white omelette. She will order this whether it's on your menu or not. It needs to be egg whites, and it needs to be an omelette, not a scramble. She will basically never want breakfast meats and will probably ask for something like shrimp. Oh, and swiss cheese or mixed cheeses. And if there's bread, it has to be English muffin. Absolutely no potato stuff. Calico Cupboard, to their credit, was able to meet all of these needs except that they don't have shrimp lol. Oh, and I guess the English muffin was an extra charge. She liked the broccoli. Anyways, service was slightly delayed, which left my coffee cup temporarily empty. I guess that's objectively a hit on service. Also, she didn't like the look and texture of her English muffin. I didn't try it so I can't judge that aspect, but I guess the cut did look rather "flat" to me for some reason. So these were the, uuuuhh, "impetus," for her to find something else, and she found it on a grape. Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of this before the waitress took it to the kitchen, but it was some small....white.....thing. In my personal opinion, I could not tell what it was at all, and it could've been some small disfigured piece of egg or cheese, but she was adamant that it was a "bug." And basically demanded to know why the kitchen didn't clean their fruits. The waitress agreed (or at least pretended to agree) that it looked off and went to the kitchen with it. However, the back of the house was not so easily intimidated and maintained that they did clean their fruits and there was nothing wrong with it. As a result, even though the waitress apologized, we did not get a discount for the "bug," which obviously put her in a bad mood. I did at least take a picture of my own fruits, with the grapes towards the front. But naturally, I was unable to capture the same, errr, contaminant.

The proprietress is a fascinating individual with whom I loved talking, and if we hadn't had a mandatory obligation 80 miles away at an appointed time, I probably would have spent more time and money (yes!) in the store. Great place for pictures, affordable great quality second hand books, and oh did I mention it's also a coffee shop. I mean could it get any better? No I don't think it could. I genuinely felt so happy the moment I stepped inside this store. It's just such a beautiful space that feels cozy and inviting. After walking around a bit I went to order a coffee. And I honestly don't think I've ever met nicer baristas in my life! They were all so sweet and kind and helpful! I tried out the fig leaf latte and the autumn tea latte and both were spectacular! Great flavor and smoothness. Overall I love this bookstore and it's well worth the drive! Definitely a hidden gem! I'll be back!!

This isn't a sterile chain shop--it's a warm, sunshiny hub built from beautiful wood tones, welcoming you to slow down and stay awhile. What immediately strikes you is how wonderfully curated the space is. Despite being "jam-packed" with thousands of quality used and collectible books, the store manages to feel open, airy, and inviting. The selection is fantastic, especially their deep cuts in Pacific Northwest History, general fiction, and esoterica. Browsing is a delight thanks to the meticulous organization that makes finding that hidden literary gem feel like a genuine discovery. The "Coffeehouse" part of the name is equally crucial. Serving delicious, locally-sourced coffee (like Olympia Coffee Roasters beans) and boasting a pastry case filled with unique treats--the legendary rosemary sea salt rolls, figgy bars, and baked goods are must-tries--it perfectly complements the reading experience. The friendly, attentive staff, who are clearly passionate about bookselling, are always ready to offer a recommendation or assist, often going above and beyond. Whether you're looking for a quiet, bright nook to get some work done, a comfortable chair to sip a vanilla bean latte, or an engaging evening out for a poetry reading or live piano music, Pelican Bay delivers. Our waitress was so kind! We started off with the calamari and pork belly bites. LOVED the calamari - perfect spices and flavor to it, loved the addition of banana peppers. Usually they put fresh jalapenos with it at other places. The pork belly bites were a nice appetizer and the marination was pretty good. A little chewy to my liking but was not bad! We saw that they had the fiesta flight and my buddy really wanted to try it so we did! There were 4 mini margaritas: the blue Hawaiian, the raspberry coconut, the spicy classic and the peach. The peach was my absolute favorite! The others were OK -- the blue Hawaiian was literally like the blue Hawaiian juice (my buddy said it tasted like koolaid so not the best...). The raspberry coconut was a little off...not sure what it was. With the flight, it came with 3 little appetizers. Shrimp ceviche, mango and other fruits with Tarin and Mexican crema corn (there's a name for it but blanking...) Shrimp ceviche was not bad, a touch of pico de gallo. The mango fruit with Tarin was definitely different - you can taste the spice! I didn't really like the Mexican creama corn...flavors were kind of off and there was more cream than corn. Our main entrees were pretty delicious! They ran out of the braised pork shank. I settled with the hangar steak. Loved the carrots, snow peas and mash potatoes. My buddy got the grilled salmon and that was DELICIOUS! We also got the loaded potato skins which were a nice appetizer to end the night. (Yes we got a lot of food! My buddy and I tend to do that on our food adventures lol) Lots of screen TVs as expected around the restaurant and it was mariners night so the staff was easy to identify. We'd come back!
