The owners are Chinese, which is fine, but there should be some basic language requirements. She gave me 2 large cups and charged me $17.95. I said I wanted 2 medium sundaes. She said the flavors you want don't come in Sundaes. I said you should have told me that when I ordered. So my buy 1, get one free turned into a robbery. Used to love this place. New owner and they nickel and dime you for everything. The classic Weds 2 sundaes for 1 is still advertised but they find every reason not to honor the deal. Overall positive experience. They had what we wanted, customized our order to our liking. The cake overall was a success and the young man helping us was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, there was a young girl who was very cavalier about proper health safety standards and was was seen entering and walking behind the counter without a mask on. They made me custom lil rounders - big oreos with mint soft serve - I'm eternally grateful. And boo hiss to the people who give lower reviews because an employee might not be wearing a mask. You could have walked out, but I bet you ate the ice cream and enjoyed it. Maybe the employees are being tested regularly. You have no idea what is going on behind the scenes at any restaurant you go to. Five star for great ice cream and excellent service! They have Ghirardelli chocolate ice cream! The serving is generous and the price is ok for that quality of ice cream. We were on a road trip from NYC to Toronto and we took the back road. We're glad to have this store along the way because it was July hot! The staff allowed us to use their staff restroom. We really enjoy Carvel soft serve and have been coming to this location for years. Biggest complaint is the inconsistency of the serving size, which varies according to who serves the customer. Considering the cost of a single serving, they should give a decent portion size, which should be consistent among servers. Tired of feeling taken advantage of, and will not return. read more

Well, we come here all the time and everything is always good. But.... today we came for a short stop, grab some ice cream and get home. Honestly, I'm super disappointed in what I saw. The one girl doing take out or making ice cream sandwiches had her mask hanging open on her face. And they had a "friend " in there with NO mask at all. Be warned that the hours posted online are incorrect, at least for the winter. Having finished my final exams today, some friends and I decided to celebrate and I said I would bring an ice cream cake. I checked the hours and drove over. When I got there, music was blasting and there was an employee sweeping the floor, and the door was locked. I tried to get her attention for a minute and a half, but she did not see me or hear me knocking until the song was over. She rolled her eyes and walked over to the door. I explained to her that the hours online indicated that they were open until 10:00, and she said "those are the summer hours, we close at 9:00" in a very unfriendly manner. So I suppose that the fact that I actually arrived at 8:58 doesn't mean anything? Maybe she was ignoring me on purpose till the clock read 9:00 so she could deny me service. I have gone to this carvel MULTIPLE times before the new ownership and it was perfectly fine and minimal problems. Ever since the new ownership has taken over, this is the WORST ice cream parlor in westchester county. The hard ice cream is always frost bitten and tastes like it has been melted before and refrozen. The service there sucks too. Everyone is so rude and nasty and it is not welcoming what so ever. I rather drive the extra 10 minutes to the lake Peekskill carvel or even go into the village of croton and go to a parlor there. I go to this Carvel about 2 to 3 times a week for the past three Summers at least... And this past summer there is this heavy set girl that works there and she has served me and my wife about a half a dozen times and every time she is the one that serves us she is unable to make a Sunday and a carvelanche... Everybody else who serves us has no problem making it it's the same way every time no matter who makes it besides her... If you walk into this place and there is a very heavy set girl, not to be discriminatory but that's the only way I can describe her because I do not know her name nor do I want to , do not order from her... Leave and go to another Carvel because if her life depended on making an ice cream in any way shape or form she would not survive... PS. You really can't go wrong with Carvel. Too bad tonight they are out of soft serve nutella. They now have soft serve Reese's the nutella was a temporary flavor. I really hope they bring back the nutella. read more
