We decided to try some food too, ordering the cubano along with yuca fries and a side of tostones. We couldn't resist a coconut fan dessert after having a latte, because it just felt like the perfect way to end the meal. The food was quite good for a cafe, but the real highlight is their coffee so much so that I bought a bag of their whole beans to brew at home. I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try!

As time went by I noticed the barista was working on three drinks for a solid twenty minutes. The girl manning the register started to help out maybe 20 minutes into me standing and waiting there and seemed easily distracted by other things going on. I don't know if this business is understaffed- if that's the case they should hire additional help so they have enough people to deal with to go orders but while waiting close to thirty minutes for my drinks nothing was even STARTED! There was a guy who kept coming in and out looking for his drinks to no avail. Now I understand the pained look on his face. I had an appointment and I didn't have time to argue or ask for my money back so I just left. I have never encountered service this slow or incompetent. While I'm sure the coffee is very good here if you have anywhere you need to be do not go to this cafe. Please hire additional staff or train your staff to be faster, this is ridiculous.

If it's an upbeat café you're after, this husband+wife team at LuDy (named after the couple's 2 children) are bringing their Melbourne coffee culture to quaint Irvington, NY. They partner with Proud Mary Coffee to bring coffee to the masses, Flour Power from Pelham, NY to offer scrumptious baked goods and Spirit Tea. Judging by the number of people I found sitting at the tables chitchatting with their friends/co-workers, etc during my Tuesday 11am visit, this is the place for a hangout over bites and beverages. Since their June '24 opening, LuDy's owner is setting himself apart in the community and is the epitome of a friendly neighborhood cafe. They didn't take my name, which is my biggest coffee shop pet peeve, but luckily it wasn't busy so I was able to hear when they called out my drink. The latte was good and I could tell the espresso was high quality. Unfortunately I couldn't get the wifi to connect, so it's a good thing I had my book with me. The table I chose (high top with metal chair) was not super comfortable and part of the table was broken, so it was a little precarious. The bathroom was clean. It's a cool concept, as they also have a bar serving beer and wine, and it looks like a nice community space with events. And it's dog-friendly. If I lived in the area I think I would come here often!
