The best ham calzone I have enjoyed in a long time . The ricotta was like velvet with generous pieces of ham. Accompanying sauce was flavorful. Pizza had a nice crust and generous amounts of sauce and cheese . Reasonable prices for the high quality. read more

Food was very good and plentiful We had stuffed shells. There very nice bread and garlic bread. Waitstaff was were pleasant but not very attentive. The night we were there there was a group of 12 that were fairly loud. But I imagine at other times it would be quiet. We will definitely come again .... or order out. read more

The lady and gent who frequently work behind the register when I get there 15 mins before close (sorry!!) are some of the nicest people ever. They've been a godsend when I'm hangry, tired, and leaving work 3 hours later than intended. My go-to items aren't anything fancy, just standard fare; the five stars are for their reliability in pulling off those items perfectly every. single. time. It's a smaller space, sure, but that just means you can get to know your neighbors a little better as they also pick up their orders. 5 stars for me means don't change a thing, you're perfect. I'll never stop ordering your eggplant parm on hero and when I'm feeling wild enough, I know throwing on a grandma slice and Diet Coke will tip me into a delightful, delicious food coma. Was looking for a place to bring home a pie for dinner. Happened to be in the neighborhood so I sat outside and put in an online order so I didn't have to wait. Watched that there were constant traffic to the restaurant so that was promising. When the order was ready, I went in and told them my name. The staff was so nice and thanked me for giving them business. I felt that they genuinely cared that I came to get my food. Not often do you get that type of response from the staff. They made me feel good that I put in an order and that's before trying their pizza. Well, the pizza was really good and tasty and I would not hesitate to go back whenever I am in the area. Though I've lived in Riverhead for several years, this was my first experience ordering from Caruso's. I placed a phone order for a large pizza half pepperoni, half mushroom. I was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived exactly 20 minutes later and, sure enough, my already boxed pizza was waiting for me. I had a short but delightful conversation with the owner (Ms. Caruso?) who explained that they'd been in business for 50 years. She could not have been more welcoming. Now for the important part of this review. This was one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. The crust was crisp and done to perfection. The pepperoni and mushrooms were in generous supply, the sauce was tangy and delicious and the mozzarella was fresh and ample. My wife and two of our friends also raved about the pizza. What a delightful surprise Caruso's was! I have found my go-to pizza place and look forward to my next visit. read more

There are lots and lots of pizza places around here and most of them are good to great. That said, when I want to just get a good plain slice, Caruso's is the best. The sauce is tangy and there is just a great balance between sauce and cheese. This is review about their pizza and pizza only from my grandson who is a pizza lover par excellence. He is 11 years old. He had two huge slices of the traditional Neapolitan pizza. It was very cheesy and the sauce was delicious. Even the crust was to his liking. Thin, crisp, and not burnt. I had a white pizza which was good but a bit too much garlic for my taste. My son had a slice of their vegetable pizza, and he concurred with his son, good crust and tasty. We will come again to try their other varieties. read more

Whenever I'm back at home visiting, this is my very first stop. It's not just me either. Friends that now live in Chicago, Boston, and Portland still meet at Caruso's, bringing back high school lunch period nostalgia, just to taste what real pizza should taste like. There is nothing better than just getting a plain cheese pizza. I think pepperoni can sometimes overpower their thin-crust pizza. Try whatever you like, but make sure you do plain cheese at least once. read more

From Nassau county but placed an order here as donation for the peconic bay medical center, the women I spoke with over the phone was super friendly even offered to throw in some extra for the employees which was super nice of her. Shocking to get cold subs that have one thin slice of meat topped by one thin slice of cheese. Cheese only? Same one slice thick. A sandwich should not have more onion than meat or cheese!
