Another clean install, done right! I reached out last week with some questions about dash cams. I already had a Thinkware unit I wanted installed, but I was a little hesitant because of the tint on my windshield. Aaron immediately had a solution, he recommended using a Blendmount, which attaches to the rearview mirror and keeps everything tucked up and out of sight. While we were talking, he also suggested checking out the BlackVue front and rear camera setup. I took his advice, and I'm glad I did. Aaron really knows his stuff and walked me through the options without any pressure. When I picked up my car, I was honestly excited. Scheduled for these guys to do a hard wire on my Mclaren, and I had reached out to about 3 other shops in the surrounding area - Aaron was the first to get back to me with direct and accurate replies, and the price was great. I ended up having to reschedule due to transportation logistics of the car I had just bought, and they were really easy going with my reschedule, which as a customer, I really appreciate. Finally got it in, and they were communicative, easy, friendly, and did wonderful work. I initially took my car to Audio House, Napa. I waited 4 hrs. The only fix they did was remove my Amplifier. Aaron at Cartronics responded to my question of installing a replacement amplifier. He had time late Sat. aft. He installed my replacement amplifier in less than 2 hrs. i had an interlock installed by cartronics. 2 days later it failed to register my breath samples/ i would have to reset it multiple times till it would accept a breath sample. this would occur on a daily basis even immediately recalibrating it trying to start my car to leave their parking lot. i told them its not functioning properly. they responded, they dont have anything to do with non functioning devices. soooooo, they take a lot of money to install this non functional device/product, take more money for recurring payments, take more money for calibration, then take more money for removal, but they dont service the device problems. they take all the money without providing any kind of service! what a scam! do not use their "services"! read more

I had an appointment to get a radio installed, called to confirm. Rushed to get there and found out that they didn't have all the parts needed. Why he couldn't tell me that when I called to confirm Apt don't know. Rescheduled 2 weeks out. Got the radio installed. Terrible hack job. Black wire exsposed under windshield, wonky microphone under rear view mirror. Dirty black & pointer finger print from installer on cloth piller/post driver side, AM radio doesn't work. The radio must have been cheapest one made. Did call and left a msg to see if they'll make it right, I want my original radio put back & my $$ returned. read more

I wanted to get an Apple Play touch screen radio to modernize my 12 year old roadster sports car. Did some research & visited some car audio dealers around the Bay Area. Very happy I chose Cartronics for the job. Their pricing was about the same as anyone else but I was impressed by the owner Dan's great advice and the professional environment in the shop and showroom. So impressed that I drove up from Santa Cruz for the install rather than do it locally. (I used to live there and often visit friends, so the trip was dual purpose but well worth my time.) Sadly the installer ran into a series of problems, not all his fault, and the job ended up taking 5-6 hours instead of 2-3. But everyone was friendly, patient and helpful to get it done. Upon driving home I noticed a couple of issues still remained so I went back a month later to get them straightened out. Dan was totally great about the whole thing even though I suspect he may have lost money on the deal due to the unexpected labor cost (I hope not, though). I just got home from a road trip to Santa Barbara and want to say the stereo looks fabulous and does everything it's supposed to do with ease. Highly recommend this shop! read more

So, I asked for a bluetooth stereo for my 2007 Mustang GT for Christmas, and got one. Yay me. I assumed I could install it myself, but ran into an electrical snag, and had no tunes in my car. I can't have no tunes in my car. I went to 3 places before Cartronics, all said they had 2 to 4 weeks booked. I thought " You can't find a window for a 2 hour install for 2-4 weeks? Seriously? " Wow. Business must be booming for you. Then, I rolled into Cartronics and tried them. I got the same story initially, but at least they took the time and effort to check their appointment schedule. They found a cancellation on the books and I took it. My point is, as busy as we all get, it's easy to turn away business. It actually takes effort to gain business. These guys will earn your business, and at a fair price. My stereo looks great, and sounds better. Down side? Yes, they are very busy, and I got lucky. But the fact that they at least made an effort to find an open spot for me, was more than 3 of their competitors did. They will be my 1st stop next time. read more

Great showroom, but where's the customer service? Every time I've been in to Cartronics, there's either been a complete lack of any employees in the showroom, or a complete lack of attention paid to the customer while in the showroom. Maybe they're just understaffed, but frankly, I figure when somebody walks in to your showroom with cash in hand and a specific request, you see what you can do. Each time I've been in there, the single employee that was in the showroom would stop and run off to answer the phone -- even in mid-sentence with me -- sometimes taking up to 10 minutes to deal with his phone customer rather than putting me first. I'm the one standing here, with cash, looking to buy, what's the deal? I understand answering the phone and asking them to hold for a minute until you're done with me or can find a co-worker to take the call, but don't ignore the people in your showroom. As a result, I've never purchased anything here because I've never felt like they've cared about my business. A flashy showroom with nice displays and high-dollar components is great and all, but it's no substitute for old fashioned customer service. read more

I purchased a nice touchscreen stereo for my 2014 silverado from these guys. It took about 3 months for the thing to stop working properly. Making weird noises and not connecting to my devices. So I brought it in and they worked on it. It took less than 2 months after that for it all to start happening again. BIGGEST WASTE OF $1600. STAY AWAY, THIS PLACE IS GARBAGE. Got a set of Oracles Halo headlights for my BMW through Cartronics. Excluding the price (which was more for the Oracles than the price for labor) these guys were 100% professional courteous and honest. Easy going guys with an incredible floor with some stuff you won't find any place else within 100 miles. Want audio or some crazy sexy upgrades to your car? THIS is the place. After having the headlights for just over 6 months I had a halo go foul on me. Had 3 running green and 1 was always off. Say 3- green 1- red. Called Cartronics and within 2 days had them out and sent back to the company. Had great updates through out the entire process with all the help you'd expect from someone trying to keep his customers happy even when they weren't responsible for ANY of the foulness. It's really easy to give a five star review when everything goes smoothly. Not everything was smooth here (not their fault) but they STILL get 5 stars! Sometimes things happen with a product that is not the fault of the installer or the company that sold it. When stuff like that happens all you can hope for is that the company that sold it to you, will stand behind the product, communicate effectively, and make everything right in a timely fashion. In this regard, Cartronics and Ray, the guy who runs the place were fantastic. I brought my RV to Cartronics to have a side/front view camera system installed. Cartronics was highly recommended by the company who manufactured the system. The install was very complex, but they still got it done in less than a day. Soon after I took the vehicle home, I noticed a quirk In the system where the side view cameras were turning off prematurely. I contacted Ray and within a day he had contacted the manufacturer of the product and arranged to have a replacement control module sent to the shop. They installed the new updated control module at no charge to me. A couple of weeks later, I noticed a different type of problem and within a day or two a replacement wiring harness had been installed. Getting this harness involved Ray contacting the manufacturer again, working out the problem, and figuring out a solution. At this point... I had a new control module and a new wiring harness. I decided I did not want to take a chance on the problem actually being with the factory head unit... So I told Ray I'd like to replace the head unit with a top-of-the-line aftermarket unit. He showed me unit that he thought would work very well, then to my surprise, he figured a way to absorb some of the cost of the previous hardware and install so I wouldn't be paying anymore than I needed to. He did not have to do that at all, and it was not expected by me either! Next, the distributor ended up sending the wrong head unit! Ray called me immediately, and in less than 24 hours he had the distributor send the correct unit, and it was installed in my vehicle. Like I said, stuff happens, and all you can hope for is that the company you are dealing with, stands behind the products they sell, works hard to fix any problems in a timely manner, and has flawless communication about appointments and time estimates for work to be completed. While they were working on the vehicle I called them and said that my daughter had to go by and pick up a large heavy stroller from the back of the RV as well as a car seat. The guys that Cartronics got the heavy stroller out of the back of the RV AND uninstalled the car seat base and brought it to the front counter so my daughter wouldn't have to try to do it on her own. I can't imagine a company doing a better job than Cartronics did for me. Every time I've gone into other car audio places... I always got the sense that they were trying to upsell me. The opposite happens here. Ray sold me exactly what I needed, figured out ways to save me money, and even when I was suggesting that I might want to replace my speakers, he suggested I just listen to them for a while with the new head unit and figure out if I was happy with the new sound. Overall my experience was very good. I dealt with the manager Ray. They delivered on schedule and to the estimate provided. Looks factory, which was my goal. Ray was good about listening to what I was looking for in a system. He took time to rewire a demo unit in the store so I could connect my iPod to it and see the head unit interface. My install required a custom bezel they sourced from a 3rd party. It does a great job of matching my interior. They were very good about communicating on the location of wiring (i.e. where my iPod would end up), before they did it. They had some misconceptions about my factory sound system, which was a little concerning since they indicated they had done several installs of same make and similar model vehicles. I have to say I'm totally blown away with what the guys at Cartronics pulled off for me today. Dan, Doug and the entire crew is amazing and the service they provided me today was above and beyond my wildest dreams. I went in for just a simple update to my clunky (2012) stereo system and they completely transformed my stereo into a modern work of art. Welcome to 2018!! The new system is light years above what was stock in my truck. Everything was updated, stereo, speakers as well as a nifty back up camera that automatically turns on when I put it the truck into reverse. No more hitting poles or running over trash bins as I can now see it all. The stereo itself is crazy nice and the speakers that they installed make this thing sound unlike anything I've heard before. Keep in mind that these guys are really busy and I had to schedule TWO WEEKS in advance! This is a GOOD thing as it shows that they are in high demand and come highly recommended. Doug was nice enough to call me Saturday before they closed and confirmed my upcoming Monday morning appointment. The shop is immaculate and you can tell that they go to great lengths to do the job right the first time. You also have to make time to spend there just checking out all the cool stuff including kicking stereo systems as well as anything you look for in ATV and water crafts. Talk about a one stop shop, this place has it all. I cannot say enough about my experience there today and I'll send all my friends and family there to see Dan and the guys, these guys are the good standard in stereo equipment installation hands down. I'll start off by saying the installation was great, the guys did a fantastic job. On the other hand my sales rep Doug has no idea what he is doing, he tried to sell me two amps when I only needed one, and the one amp i needed was $50 more then just the one out of two amps he tried to sell me on. Dont forget the extra labor and wiring and space he would have cost me if I didnt do any research keep in mind all i needed was one 10in sub and an amp for four speakers and the sub. Also for the quality work that they do my sales rep should have told me where i wanted my sub (which was where the stock Bose sub was) wasnt going to sound good without installing a fiberglass box, instead he sold me $200 in dyna mat and said it's going to sound amazing, it sounded like shit and rattled. So after spending $1400 for a shitty sounding system i spend another $200 on Amazon for a custom stelth box and now I'm satisfied(it also cleared up the rattling with it being 10x louder) By all means the place does do really good work i recommend them, just stay away from Doug. Also he called me a month later and asked for my help on how to work my wireless android auto deck, btw I dont have a wireless android auto deck. read more

A total waste of time. I went in with my car about six weeks ago, explained the situation and the guy said he'd give me a quote the next day. No quote arrived. Two days later, I phoned and asked about the quote. He said he's get it for me the following week. End of the following week comes; no quote. I phone the Monday after that. Guy says that he's been busy, and that the way he works is that he gives total dedication to one job at a time, including the quote. That makes zero sense; it wouldn't work either for the business or the customer. Anyway, he says he'll get me the quote the next week. Unsurprisingly, no quote comes. It's been a total waste of my time. I know I'm not reviewing the quality of work done, but getting a quote is a part of the overall business service, and you simply shouldn't mislead customers and waste their time. Really Bad costumer service. I was charge $35 for them to find a blew fuse within 5 mins, what a Ripped off. I've gonne to places they check the fuse for FREE. Don't go there! Their "manage" started yelling at me and threaten me. I am the customer and you as employee do not ever yell at the customer. I do not recommend this place. havent been to cartronics in years till today but they've always been helpful. i walked in needing a very simple 12v LED for a project. they searched the inventory and couldnt find what i needed. before i walked away one of the workers (i wish i asked his name) MADE a simple 12v test light LED for me without even asking. to me this goes above and beyond good customer service. i cant thank them enough for such a simple thing. too bad im not into stereos as much anymore otherwise id be spending more there. read more

Everyone I know goes to cartronics for very obvious reasons, professional staff, quality of work, great pricing and they have a great variety of quality products... My alarm actually stopped working properly about 3 months after the install.... I went back...they charged me for a new fuse ($20), and it still doesn't work well. I took my car to Cartronics because it is a VW and after having trouble with the battery draining down due to the radio the VW dealer recommended them. About a year ago now I had them disconnect the stereo and that solved the problem. While I have gone over a year without a stereo, the car has not had any problems starting or the battery draining down. We drive this car every single day. A few weeks ago my wife and I went back to Cartronics to have them install a CD head unit, hoping to sell the car in the near future. We spoke to the manager about this issue of the stereo causing the battery to drain and he assured us they would not have any problem installing the radio without causing any issues with the battery. We showed up the next day and took the car home with a new head unit installed. The very next morning, the car won't start. We start by taking the battery out of the car and to our machanic. He charged it fully and gave it a clean bill of health. We jump in the car and drive it back to Cartronics. To our amazement we are greeted with animosity and defensiveness when we explain that the radio is draining the battery. The manager argues for five minutes that it must be our car and not the radio. That we need to take the car to a mechanic and "have it looked at". He finally agrees to check the install and prove to us it is not the stereo. He calls us a few hours later to, again, insist that "something" in our car is somehow draining the battery but the radio is "not causing any draw, and therefore cannot be the problem". The bottom line is it WAS THE RADIO all along! We never were able to get the radio to work without it draining the battery and causing the car not to start. After they wasted days of our time and several trips back and forth I finally got the owner to disconnect the radio, again, and refund us our money. Wasted three days with these clowns. Can't tell you how frustrating it was to have these people stand there and tell me that the stereo they just installed couldn't possibly be the problem when it obviously was. Arrogant, lazy, and just plain mean. read more
