This shop quoted me $35 to replace the fuel line for a chain saw. They texted me several days after drop off stating that the fuel lines need to be replaced, which is what I told them when I dropped it off. Once the repair was completed they told me the bill was $109 for replacing the lines and would require another $81 for carb repair. They told me the $35 I was quoted was for diagnostic. This shop is dishonest and the manager said that I didn't remember the conversation I had with the front desk employee, which he wasn't present for. Bring your business elsewhere. read more

Carthage saw and mowers will rip you off, on the price of parts. Brought a set of blades for my Toro mower Carthage Saw & Mower charged me 58.84 for one set. I brought two set from Toro online 80.80 with shipping. I call Toro the blades are the same, they could explain why Carthage Saw & Mower was charging so much. For repair I brought in my troy-bilt, they gave a big spill it can't be fixed for under $2500.00, gave it to a customer for parts, he call me back the three days later and offer to return it to me, it had a loose wire and PTO switch and tractor run fine. I'll never set foot in that store again and advise all to stay far far away from it. read more

Reception called back saying she found after market tires 18"x8.5"--8 tires for $64 and the front tire for $48. That's more like it and I only need them on one side. But, they have to order the tires. All parts could have and should have been ordered when the technician looked it over and gave the estimate, which I agreed to. Why they waited this long just doesn't make sense. I will update this post as t progress 7/20/18, receptionist said tires were ordered, but the manufacturer sent the wrong size. That was on 7/17. Today I called and was told that the manufacturer doesn't have the tire in stock, so they have to be ordered from a different warehouse. It is unknown when the tires will ship. Since I will be without my mower for the foreseeable future, I asked for a "loaner" to use. But that's not possible because their only loaner mower is.....wait for it....broken, awaiting parts! Bwahahahahah! Is it just me, or should I have expected this right from the beginning? I was told max three weeks and I get that because it's the busy season. Admittedly, I can be an @$$. But I assure all readers that everything I've posted is 100% accurate. I told the manager that the thought crossed my mind that this is payback for the crappy review I posted. 7/24/18, Finally got my mower back. It took 42 days to replace a drive belt and two tires. And after all that--you can't make this stuff up--the mechanic failed to attach the rod that engages the drive belt! It took me an hour to get it on because I don't have a lift and it's really difficult to insert the cotter pin in such a tight space. I can't imagine how this place stays in business with such poor management and quality control. I will NEVER use this business again and I totally regret having tried them in the first place. read more

Not again. Same mower repaired 3 times for the same problem. The last 2 times are what really burnt them. I picked it up for a carburetor issue and paid $55 only for it to work for 15 minutes before it malfunctioned again. Immediately took it back to them. Had to call them several days later to find out if it was 'fixed'. They charged me another $45 for doing what they said they did the first time. We complained and got no where. read more

Brought my saw there for evaluation was told it would be over $200 to repair. Advised I didn't want it repaired at this time and I would pick up later. Saw was there for less then 60 days when I went to pick up was told it was gone and that they don't know what happened to it. Saw had sentimental value as it was a gift to my husband and store is basically telling me too bad. They have no explanation as to why saw is not in store and why it has disappeared. The owners are non empathetic and do not care about customers, I now have no saw and have to proceed with other actions. it was first time there and I warn you don't do business there!!!! There is no where written on the work order that after 30 days you are not responsible. It only stated REPAIRED EQUIPMENT will be sold. Not only that I told the store I would return and was advised I had 90 days you offered me another saw that you told me I had to wait so you can contact the owner because you only had it for 60 days and then you could give it to us. Why is it that you could contact that owner but never contact me to confirm? The saw was there less then 45 days and now can't be found. I don't want money I need my saw I have a down tree and now can't cut it because I have no saw. Even though that saw wasn't fixed we could have fixed it ourselves for less money we just wanted to know what was wrong and that is why we brought it in for evaluation. The worse customer service I have ever experienced! The owner "Patrick" is a complete waste of time when it comes to knowledge of equipment in the store and will talk out of the side of his mouth. When it comes to servicing a warranty issue he is worthless. I purchased a $1200.00 mower less then 4 months old before it breaks. I dropped the Mower off and after 2 weeks of Patrick having it I had to call the manufacture myself because Patrick would not follow up with them. After finally getting the mower fixed I get the mower back home and the first 10 min of the cut the mower starts spiting out parts. I load the mower up and carry it back to the store, wait for 45mins before being helped (not busy in the store). When Patrick shows up he tells me its my fault the mower breaks... I load my mower up and take it to another authorized dealer and get it fixed under warranty with no issue. read more

Worst saw repair experience encountered in my entire life. This repair shop kept my chain saw in the shop for a month and it never got repaired. I was originally told by the staff Rep that for $250 my saw would be repaired. Based on this I agreed, as it would be cheaper than a new one. Well I picked it up today and paid $ 140 for a chain saw still not repaired. Rough on equipment in their position. Bad sales, pathetic repairs, bad support, low customer service skills and general lack for care beyond their own potential to score a dollar, IF they think you are about to buy something and they think you can buy that something - you get smiles and generosities you might expect. That is as far as it goes. Its far worse than a small, used, struggling car dealer who feels they need to scam to survive (simply because they are not good enough to just 'be' good). After 3+ very poor repair experiences and more than a dozen visits, I believe I am finally cured from going here. You might expect to receive less than professional repair skills (though twice, they did a couple things right - that part is simply rare). Poor tone from most of reps during most phone conversations.. - you might just expect to feel like you are completely bothering them for having called. Any re-assembly efforts should be double checked by a second skilled technician at another location to ensure your personal safety. Loose parts, missing attachments and other factors may eventually lead to disaster (at your cost). Store hours online show as different (different from one another, different from what they say and may even be different from reality when you show up and find them closed again) - Seriously, I can never figure out when they might be open or closed. Strongly wished someone there would could understand the customer importance and how knowing hours of operation might be helpful. Prices on sales seems to vary by what they can squeeze out of you. Everything is marked or seems to be communicated in MSRP format with actual price being what you cave into. Is that alone enough to consider? Maybe not. Was gaining interest in a few different models of Zero Turn mowers on display out front (new, I believe). However, was in the vicinity of the store and noticed a repair technician doing donuts and burnouts from what appeared to be NEW equipment being stored 'and' older equipment which may have been a customers. Considering the general lack of professionalism, potentially dangerous repair practices by returning your equipment yet still need of repair, combine that with poor attitudes and more -- this is a recipe of where not to go. As an additional expense, they will do all they can to ensure they 'sell' you their diagnostics. You may go their for just a new set of blades but they will TRY HARD to find something to create enough curiosity for diags. You will pay for diags AND you will pay for repairs (usually repairs can cost you the repair twice: once to do it and elsewhere to do it right). Expect a lecture and repeated sales-pitch to purchase their gasoline. No matter what is wrong with your equipment or what actually led to it, it will be diagnosed as your bad gas because it was not their gasoline. While I completely understand the physics involved in types of gas and common ethanol fuel mixtures (both available vs recommended), they really do push a little too hard on the fuel. I really do not want another conversation about it. I would not even want to inquire the time of day because you may certainly get "hey, have you heard about our fuel and why its so important?!". Seriously - get off the gas. I buy whats recommended by the manufacturer and if that's not enough then they can pay the warranty. I don't also need to purchase your $30 quart of gas. Note: I exaggerated on the $30 price there but it is a little beyond "too high". There may even be potentially some benefit to using 'their gas' but let's not make it all about the gas. Sometimes, I needed new tires -- gas does not need to be in a tire conversation and certainly not 6 times during the tire convo. Enough = enough. Too - if they do not see dollar signs approaching the register, you may even be ignored during internal customer training. No, really - I am serious. At least twice, I waited over 35m so that I could get a 15s answer. OK - yes, it was important questions but the 'excuse' me's did not help as they said 'be right with you' (the excluded 'right with you' might mean half an hour). But, to their defense, its easy for them to be terrible this way when they are the only known source for your specific business needs in the area. Please note: we are in need of a go-to place for small equipment repairs. As much as we truly need these services and convenience in location - we have decided a 2+ hour drive may pay for itself and hope to be a valued customer, maybe even appreciated for the business we bring, elsewhere. This is an unwanted but easy decision. We will also be replacing equipment with that in which has a warranty can can be easily supported and certainly by another service center. Final note: At a minimum, you should get at least what you believe you paid for. You may not get that here, most of the time. Things may rarely be OK, once in a while - but that is not good enough for my hard earned pennies. read more

We were given an estimate for a new carb that was quoted at $50. Dropped it off on Thursday and had to call them to check up over the weekend to which they told us Monday was when work was scheduled. Called on Tuesday after no word and was told mower was ready. When we picked it up we were hit with a bill for $144! The owner explained that after the carb was put on he changed the air filter and spark plug along with a gas cleaner through the tank. After expressing that I had not authorized any of this work he simply told me I got a good deal. Went back in and the owner's wife told us they meant to call us first but never did, after I showed her the receipt where it states in writing that they had to call us before performing additional services, she agreed to $30 refunded for labor but told us we would have to remove the extra parts ourselves if we wanted the full refund, including draining the gas they put in, even though it was full when we dropped it off. Either these people are completely incompetent, or they are running a scheme. Buyer beware! read more
