Never showed up ever. I called and got upset and they said i would be called with another 4 hour window.. The service was OK, they had two guys come out to light a pilot that went out on the water heater. The base price was $89.00, which was fine under the circumstances but then the total adding in labor only (no parts needed) was another 100.00. So to light the pilot only for about five minutes, cost me almost $200.00. That's pretty lame. UPDATE! My pilot light went out again and they honored their work and lit it at no charge. NO REGARD FOR A CUSTOMERS TIME!!! Scheduled a repair by this company" Carter's a week and half ago so I could get a " First Appointment" . That should have been an 8-10 window but I just got a call from repairman at 8:20 to say it would be between 11:00-4:00. So since I cleared my morning calendar and now they wanted me avail 8:00-4:00 missing a whole day of work or anything else?? I originally had Carter Service (a different company with a similar name) come out and they did a horrible job. When I called to have it fixed, I accidentally called George. He did a fantastic job in our old building with sensitive plumbing and I've been using him ever since. He's on time, charges fair prices, gets the job done and cleans up after himself. What more can you ask for in a plumber? He often gets yelled at because of the confusion with the other company who coincidentally also has a plumber named George although with a different last name, so make sure you call the right place. read more

Our experience with Carter's Plumbing was exceptional. We had all toilets at our place start overflowing just before Thanksgiving when we were expecting 12 guests to be coming over. Obviously that would not do so we found Carter's Plumbing on the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce website. They had no reviews on Yelp, but we decided to give them a try. We were not dissapointed. The owner was at our house ahead of schedule, quickly got to work and did an outstanding job. We are no longer clogged, and when he told me the price I was amazed. Especially right before the holidays some companies might gouge on the prices and get away with it, but that was not the case with Carter's. The price was more than fair and I almost felt guilty based on the amount of time he spent repairing our plumbing. 5 STARS all the way for Carters Plumbing! read more

I'm a firm believer in getting at least 2 estimates when it comes to plumbing. One of my tubs wasn't draining and I was hoping to get my kitchen faucet repaired. The first company I called the plumber told me my kitchen faucet could not be repaired that I needed a new one. The second company I called was Carters Plumbing&Rooter. George came in and gave me what I thought was a very reasonable estimate to get my tub draining again and to REPAIR MY KITCHEN FAUCET! I had him do the job on the spot. He cleaned up the area after he snaked the tub and my faucet no longer leaks. Not only does he have reasonable prices, he's very proffessional, honest and I found out he is a one man operation. It's nice to know that I can rely on him whenever I have a plumbing problem and not worry about who will be showing up at my house the next time. My toilets and my shower drain all clogged so I called Carter's Plumbing for Saturday service. Two accesses were available in the garage. The plug to the 3" cast iron pipe was stuck, so he has to borrow my saw to cut it loose (he did not prepare for the unexpected). He then attempts to snake the main line with "small" cutting tool and got stuck approx 60' into sewer line. Couldn't get the cable out. He offers to use the camera to locate the problem but offer no estimate. I opt to have another company to identify the problem and they did. Got sewer line open and retrieved the snake cable. I thought I had help Carter's plumbing by get other people to get his cable un-stuck. Unfortunately, he was so embarrassed that he did not come to retrieve his equipment until the next day. And on top of that he was very rude to demand the full service fee as if he got my mainline opened! One star is too generous. read more

I've lived in my current house for 17 years and it seems that every two years I have to call a rooter service to come clean out my drains. I have 4 daughters who all have long hair, so its inevitable that the drains are going to get clogged up with hair. In the past, I would usually call a rooter service from the phone book (Rescue Rooter, Regal Rooter, etc..) and they would come out and charge me $200-250 for a 30 minute service. I was always tempted to go out and buy my own drain auger and do it myself. Well this morning my wife called me at work and said that the kitchen sink and bathroom shower were clogged up. I decided to check Yelp to see if I could find a plumber or rooter service that had positive reviews. After finding Carter's Plumbing Service, I decided to give him a call and leave him a message. He promptly called me back and said he could come by after I got off of work. He arrived on time and quoted me $85 to snake out my drain from the clean-out opening outside my kitchen. It took him about 20-25 minutes and the job was done. I mentioned that I would write him a positive review and he dropped the price to $75! George Carter was prompt, efficient, polite and honest. If anyone needs to have a rooter service come clean out a drain, I highly recommend you give George a call. read more
