Came on time fixed my attic wires quickly at the agreed price...what can I add? It's like the bus that shows up on time...just perfect. Suggestion: After reading the poor reviews for home warranties do what I did 20 years ago....canceled our warranty and saved our money for repairs and replacements. read more

Gabe from Carter Electric came on time...called me when he was on his way. Will definitely call again if I need them. read more

From the first initial call with Jessica I knew this was going to be a good company! I told Jessica EVERYTHING that happened w/ the first electrician J&C Services out of Imperial Beach, and ironically she knew EXACTLY what I went through as she always gets referrals from them! She was so polite on the phone, understood my frustration and fixed it literally in 5 mins...she scheduled an electrician to come out to my home the next morning and even called me again to confirm! Randy came out, diagnosed the issue and was in an out w/in 35-40 mins, unlike the last electrician who charged my insurance company 4 hours worth of work!!! I wish this company could charge my insurance 4 hours worth of work!!! I am saving their card and if I have any other issues I'm DEMANDING my insurance company send them!!! Thanks Jessica and Randy!!! read more

Gabriel was so thorough and answered all of our questions with patience. He had good ideas.

Selected Carter electric through my warranty. Was able to set an appointment quickly, and they worked with me to schedule something with my tenant. Best of all, they were able to fix both of my electrical issues. They are the best technicians I've used and would definitely recommend. Be sure to ask for them if you have Fidelity warranty. read more

This company was hired by my insurance company to look at my doorbell since the chime stopped working. There were a lot of negatives to say the least: the tech showed up past the 2 hour time frame given 20 or so minutes late, came unprepared on having his own tools to look at the chime so he asked to borrow mine (a ladder), asked if I installed the doorbell initially which I replaced (which I did)...then laughed about it. I'm pretty sure I didn't pay for services to be insulted in my own home and be left hanging later then usual wasting my day. Add to that he stepped his dirty ass boots all over my throw rug meaning he had no common sense at all to respect my house. At the end of this whole ordeal he didn't actually fix the issue and said I needed to contact the doorbell company I purchased from stating it's likely an issue with them (wish I could have given zero stars to to this place to be honest). I can see the sentiments appear the same about this company's staff basically stepping on people's beds and all. Didn't surprise me he stepped on the area where there's rug (my entire house is wood floors minus the throw rug in the center of the house) when it was no where near the repair area and it seemed he wanted to see what I had playing on my TV! The 1 star is default since I can't do zero stars. read more

Everytime this guy comes to do work on the home addition he seems to somehow always leave his trash in the road. I'm pretty tired of cleaning up after a so called professional. Would recommend using someone else. read more

I made an appointment with the owner, and he was a no show. I called, left a message, and never got a return call. My time is valuable and I need a company who is reliable. Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere. Unprofessional. I would not recommend. read more

I would give 0 star if I could. They were sent out by my home warranty for my ceiling fan. The electrician step on my bed with his shoes to get to the ceiling fan. He also pushed my bed with his hips which scratch the floor and broke one of my outlet next to the bed. He did fixed the outlet when I pointed out to him. But he couldn't figure out what the problem is with the fan and he said it is my remote that is not a match for the fan. The remote worked for the entire time I own the house and he's trying to say it is the wrong remote. So my insurance deny the claim and I paid the guy 65 bucks to step on my bed and moved my furniture. I thought the nightmare is over at this point. But wait, 2 month later I got a letter from my home warranty says I owe carter electric 65 dollar service fee. I am providing my credit card statement trying to resolve it. Thank god I didn't pay the guy cash. read more

We had multiple electrical issues (master bathroom power outage, multiple loose outlets, and flickering ceiling fan lights). We called Carter through our home warranty and they were professional, timely, and extremely knowledgeable. Prior to calling Carter, we had another electrician come out who was unable to fix our master bathroom power outage. Gabriel came out, diagnosed the problem and fixed it within 20 minutes. He was extremely knowledgeable, explained everything to us, and was very courteous and respectful of our house. Thanks! read more

I have used Carter Electric twice now. The first time I got really great service and a very reasonable price. Okay, I thought, this just might be that I got lucky and got a great technician to fix my problem. I called Carter again about 3 months down the road hoping I'd get lucky once more. Well, it happened again. Different technician, but same results. Great service from a pleasant individual who answered all my questions and met all my needs. Now, I'm hooked. Along with my great plumber, great painter, I know have a great electric company I can rely on. I've used others in the past and felt I got gouged with their pricing. Carter charges straight time at a reasonable rate and you never feel over charged. If you need electrical work done, this is the company. A very satisfied customer. read more

I also was assigned Carter Electric by First American Home Warranty... They arrived as promised and resolved my open ground issue methodically and without hesitation. I highly recommend them for any of your electrical needs. Thanks for the good work. read more

We had a challenging electrical job. Randy Carter of Carter Electric and his crew arrived on time and completed the job on schedule. Their workmanship was excellent and up to code. The price was the most reasonable estimate that I received from several electrical companies. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing electrical work. Sincerely, Mark Flanagan San Diego, CA read more

Carter Electric was so helpful in getting us a missing plate for our electric box that we so badly needed to complete our appraisal for refinancing. It took two trips for them to get it sorted out and they were nothing but professional. Jessica was so helpful on the phone! read more

We used a reliable source who recommended Carter Electric to do some work on our house. We've now had them do five different jobs at the house and in every case they did outstanding work. I highly recommend Carter Electric. read more

Excellent service! I made my appointment yesterday and they were flexible enough to come during the two hour window of time that I was available. The technician arrived at the exact time I specified that I would be home, so I didn't have to wait around. The technician was very knowledgeable and found the problem right away and had all the repairs done within the hour. He cleaned everything up afterwards and was very polite and professional. I will definitely recommend Carter Electric to anyone I know who needs an electrician. read more

I have now had three excellent experiences using Carter Electric. Specifically, Jessica was enormously knowledgeable about various electrical repairs and was able to match my needs with an excellent tech. She handled a potentially complicated situation very efficiently. Also, kudos to Gabriel. He is a very and efficient tech. He was able to come in, quickly assess what was needed for the job, and expertly get the repairs made. For anyone reading these negative reviews you will notice a trend. The negative reviews are more likely to be the result of the warranty companies they were using more than Carter Electric. It has been my consistent experience that home warranty companies have poor communication. That is not the fault of Carter Electric. I keep their phone number on my cell phone and wouldn't consider using any other electrical repair company. read more

This company has 5 stars for a reason!! Let's just say Jessica is was a God sent to me. We purchased a fire damaged house in need of major repairs and TLC. I called Jessica frustrated, in need of help in finding the best way to get electric back to our property without having to wait 2 months for SDG&E. After talking to multiple people about our issue, including our contractor, It was Jessica who figured it all out within a 10 minute conversation. All I can say is Carter's Electric is extremely lucky to have her as an employee and we are extremely thankful we found her. Thank you Jessica for your professionalism and knowing you job so well! read more

I used Carter Electric 2 years ago to replace an electrical box. That work was carried out professionally and quickly. Dealing with the city inspector was an entirely different matter. Today, I experienced an electrical outage in my kitchen which I could not resolve despite unplugging and plugging in all appliances, re-setting all the GFIs, and turning off and on all the switches at the box. I spoke on the phone with Jessica. She was extremely friendly and assisted me (over the phone!) to map out a series of other things to try to remedy the situation. Those maneuvers were successful without requiring a tech visit, or......a charge. I will certainly call Carter Electric again if I have other electrical problems or jobs. Ten stars for Jessica. read more

This company was assigned to me by Fidelity National Home Warranty. They do not return calls promptly. I had to call the warranty company, only then did they call me back. When they finally came out it was determined my ceiling fan was failing but was advised by the electrician I could still use it on 1 manual speed and I would have to hang a 6 foot pull chain. It was then determined a new fan would be covered and a 2nd visit was needed. The next electrician was out and needed parts but was getting off work soon and didn't have time to complete the work before his shift ended. Now awaiting a 3rd visit........if I can arrange more time off of work. read more

Sometime last week I was experiencing some electrical problems at home so I decided to call this company to get problem corrected.. They gave me an appointment of 1pm, and I called out of work so I was able to facilitate their request to visit my home. First thing they came two hours later than agreed, the service provided was unprofessional, the job was incomplete and the work area was left messy. I called the office and ask to speak to the manager about the level of customer service received and was place on a lengthy hold. Not the best experience I have had. read more

absolutely the best. We were getting the run around with our home warranty company and after two plumbers an electrician was scheduled to help us get hot water. Randy was beyond helpful not just working with our schedule, but he knew more about our solar/electric hot water heaters than the 3 plumbers and home inspector did. I would recommend, if you have a problem, please call this company first!!! read more

Came to my house for FREE estimate. Replaced my panel for a great price, and other than the clocks blinking, I hardly noticed they were there. Great service, great price, great company. read more

We had electrical issues in a commercial building on Sunday afternoon with SDGE saying "all looks good on our side". I found Carter Electric through yelp and talk to Randy who agreed to come in within 1 hour and help troubleshooting. Other electricians either did not return my calls or said they don't work on weekends. Randy got here in 30 min and quickly pin-pointed to some of our SDGE leads being dead and not issue within the building. With his prompt response and some luck from getting SDGE technician showing up quickly the issue got resolved on Sunday (took 8 hours) and we were up and running Monday morning. read more

Great service provided when we experienced a power outage in our home. The electrician arrived within a few hours of the service call and fixed the issue within 2 hours which involved a lot of trouble shooting. Same day service is very important to me so I was very happy. The cost of the service was reasonable too. read more

Carter Electric was sent out through my home warranty to inspect an issue with my ceiling fan. The electrician turned on the fan for less than a minute and wrote what I told him the issue was. He didn't wait to see or smell the burning the old motor was causing. My home warranty claim was denied and now I'm out $65 for a 5 minute visit. Thanks Carter Electric! I'll go back and use Premo Electric, who thoroughly diagnosed the problem. read more
