SCAM. GM CENTRE PARKING…read more There is a parking lot on court street across from the GM centre that Alpine towing has a contract for. The front sign looks like a green P parking sign and the signs within the lot are confusing to read. One states private parking and also states medical centre parking. This company watches people drive in confused deciding whether or not they will park there and watches by camera and in person as they walk away leaving their vehicles parked in the lot. As soon as they see the person walk away, they take the vehicle and lock it up in their yard 500 Metres down the road and block it off with their trucks, forcing people pay $200 to have it removed. There is no one on site to talk to, not one on site taking payment for parking and no machines to pay at which is completely ridiculous. There should be a parking arm installed or new signage written more ledgible for people to understand as this happened to all 6 of the people who parked in the lot at this time. We are told this happen ALL DAY EVERY DAY. This company made $1200 in 20 minutes off of hockey players playing in a beer league at the GM centre who parked their cars in this lot for a 40 minute game of hockey. Sounds like a deal for Alpine towing! But it's completely unethical and very sad. Sad to see people forced to do work like this. Must be a pretty crappy life to live. Will NEVER using an unthethical local company like this EVER.

Contacted them to get a quote on a tow for an RV. Was told between $150 and $250/hr depending on…read morethe weight. Was asked to send a photo of the RV, which I did and received an email stating "$150/hour". Booked the tow which was a total distance of 44 km from tow yard to the destination. Got billed at a rate of $250/hour for 2.5 hours. Asked for an accounting of the driver's time which they say they track with GPS. They took 30 minutes to hook it up (seems excessive), then took 70 minutes to drive 44 km which means they drove less than 40km/hour in an 80km/hr zone (I've never seen a tow truck drive that slow). Took 20 minutes to unhook the RV , took 30 minutes to drive back and then tacked on an additional 20 minutes. Guess the client pays for coffee breaks. Being generous, this job should have taken a max of 2 hours. If you find yourself having to use this service for any reason, get EVERYTHING in writing and accompany them the entire way to track the time. Better yet, use a different service.
