My experience at Center City Collision wasn't perfect, but the people there were great to work with and I trust the quality of their service. A highlight of Center City Collision is their communication- they call twice a week to give a general update on the car's status, as well as were quick to respond to my (many) calls and emails. I was referred to Center City Collision by my insurance as a in network body shop, so taking my car their would facilitate the repairs. Paul communicated with my insurance company the whole time and I was never concerned with that aspect of the process. Additionally, he promptly sent me an estimate of the parts and time needed for the repairs. Unfortunately the parts for my foreign car were slow to be delivered, but they were quick to repair the damage (in the timeline given during the estimate) and when a needed part hadn't been noticed in the repair process, they had it overnighted and offered a rental car. Lastly, my car was spotless when I picked it up. So while the process was long and had a hiccup, this place deserves 4 stars for their customer service. read more

Total scam - not run by trustworthy people. I was asked by State Farm to take my vehicle into a select location for a quote. CARSTAR Center City was the nearest location, so I went with it. They then refused to send the quote into the insurance company until I promised to do the work through them instead of my repair shop of choice. I again asked that they send in the quote, they said they would, then later the State Farm agent told me they contacted the location and that the quote would not be sent in. I was lied to; this practice is just wrong, and CARSTAR wasted my time - all over a minor repair job. You've earned a 1 star review; I hope losing a customer was worth it. read more

I genuinely do not understand the rating this place has. A COMPLETE and TOTAL waste of my time. I scheduled an appointment to get a quote on some body work I needed on my vehicle. I arrived early, apologized if I was inconvenient, but told them I would be happy to wait. They were very friendly and said they appreciated me being early. Everything went swimmingly until I told them the insurance company already wrote me a check. That is when everything changed. They wouldn't even give me quote or estimate. John, the estimator, actually said, "I am very busy." There was no need to ask for a manager, the manager was standing RIGHT best to us! Never said a word to me. Well, CarStar, so am I. Everyone is busy. That is life. Thank you for wasting my time. Was totally planning on getting a detail when the work was done, too! So, not only do you lose a $3k+ gross body job, and a $100 detail, but now you get one star, CarStar! Best of luck! read more

I came to Center City Collision on the recommendation of a friend and was glad I did. I was in an accident and completely totaled the front end of my car; over $10K worth of damage. The amount of work that needed to be done was extensive and I was completely out of my element with what to do. I'm so glad I came to Center City. I don't want anyone to miss these key points I experienced so if you only read a little know this: Center City Collision has: Great Customer Service, Commitment to Quality and Safety, Excellent Communication. And here's why: Great Customer Service: I closed on a house the day my car was supposed to be ready and Chris told me not to worry and to just reach out to him when I was ready; that impressed me. The day I picked up the car, I called ahead and asked if they could check the gas tank (I seriously had just filled it up before the accident and after buying the house and paying for the car, I was a little budget conscious, lol). The receptionist (I can't remember her name but I know she's getting married so I want to give her a shout out ; )) gladly checked the gas level for me. Randy helped me get me situated in the car when I picked it up and encouraged me to contact with ANY questions or concerns. They also covered the rental car costs after my insurance coverage was up. Commitment to Quality and Safety: What impressed me the most was that they truly stood by their words that safety and quality were the most important considerations. There was a sensor that they could not reset without special equipment. They partnered with another shop, which spent $1K to update software, to be able to reset the airbag sensor. When that didn't work, they worked directly with the Subaru dealership to have the problem fixed. Excellent Communication: Due to the amount of work that needed to be done (basically had the front end of my car rebuilt), it took several weeks for the repairs to be completed. Chris contacted me consistently to give me updates and explain what was going on with the car. That sent my mind at ease. After the accident, the communication with the tow company and my insurance were not at all proactive. This was not at all the case with Center City. Awesome customer service! Quick repair time! No jerking you around! This place is great. I was rear ended and then backed up into all in one week and I needed to get two repairs done. I went to Center City Collision and the repair process couldn't have been easier. They handled the insurance companies perfectly and even arranged for a rental car to be there at the time of my drop-off. They just started a new service where they will send you photos updates of your repair via text and e-mail...how cool is that? You can watch your car go through the body work! They also give the car a wonderful wash and wax when they complete the work which I greatly appreciate. **UPDATE** After posting the initial review, Kevin went way out of his way to reach out to me. He described processes they've put in place to up the communication. In short, this is a shop that really is committed to the community and its customers, and they're willing to right situations to please customers.** Let me say I really wanted to like Center City Collision, and I think it's a good business as far as shops go-it didn't feel smarmy and I was spoken to in a respectable manner, and I felt like they were honest. Overall, the work looks good (still four months later), the guys were very thorough-going over the long estimate with me line by line, and the shop covered my rental for the days over my insurance coverage (caused by their delay). But... My car was returned to me three weeks after the original promise date (repair took a month), and I didn't feel like I was kept in the loop much in the process-didn't receive phone calls as promise dates came and went. When I picked it up, I waited 30 minutes for them to finish washing (after telling them what time I would be there to pick up), and when I finally got in it, there was literally a gallon of gas left in the tank (there was at least a quarter tank when they got the car). They 'let me have the car' for the weekend because I had a trip planned and I didn't want to drive 12 hours in a stripped down rental, I returned it for an additional day to finish the work which also allowed them to tweak issues I noticed. If I happen to be in a four car pile up on the interstate again, I would probably consider C^3, but I would definitely be calling every day or every other day to check the status of the repair. It was over the holidays, and I understand they are waiting on parts, but I guess I at least expect a phone call to let me know what's going on. I chatted with another customer while waiting and she indicated they she called nearly every day. I guess in the end, I could tolerate the lack of communication and delays knowing that the work will look good. read more

I went through my insurance to do one step drop off. I called Center City and they set it up so I could drop off my car and Enterprise would be there waiting to give me a rental. The whole process took under 10 minutes. I was given an estimate of 14 days to finish repairs, but I was leaving town in 12. I asked if early repair would be possible, and at first it was maybe, but closer to that date it was a no. I worked it out so that I could return the rental to the airport, and arranged a ride home for when I got back 6 days later. During my trip, Andrew let me know that it would be an additional day or two from when I was scheduled to get back because my car is new, and he wanted to make sure the paint was up to standard. He said that Center City would cover the cost of rental for additional days. He arranged for Enterprise to call me to pick me up early the following morning. It ended up taking the additional 2 days, and when I went to pick up I left the rental with them, and the rest of the process was quick. Two slight negatives: 1. In total the repairs took 20 days from original estimate of 14 days - but covering the cost of the additional rental negated that concern 2. There were several last minute emails when I was expecting them a bit sooner. Overall my car looks brand new and I was happy with the outcome. I'm glad that they took the time to do the job well. read more

This is a good shop with nice people. They fixed my car up right and gave me a free Diet Coke, too. I admit that a free Diet Coke will pretty much earn anyone an extra star, but the people were genuinely friendly and explained things well, too. Seriously, they must explain their process 100's of times a month, so to do it as if it's new (as it is to the client) is a skill many an apathetic customer service person would not be able to deliver. I've decided to rewrite my original review based on a couple of reasons. One of which, from my original review, I was as accurate and honest as I could recall, I originally gave them 4 out of 5 stars based on my experience, which I happen to consider excellent service to begin with. The owner decided to contact me for a follow up and offered to make good on a short fall from the service we received. It was evident that this shop means business, they truly care about customer service, very hard to find in this type of industry! We received our quote from Center City Collision and it came in under the Ford dealerships quote by nearly $100. Not to mention this included a detail of the vehicle, not just a repair. On top of being cheaper than the dealership, they were very customer service driven and seemed to truly care about providing a service their reputation reflects, outstanding service! This is my second time having my car repaired by Center City Collision and I would recommend them to anyone that I can. I have always gotten the impression that they are very dedicated to customer satisfaction. I took my car in for an estimate on a Thursday, the estimate took just a few minutes and the staff member clearly explained to me the types of repairs required. They took care of communicating everything to my insurance company, money didn't have to pass through my hands between the two parties. I was told when the parts were in and I dropped by car off on Tuesday morning. They already had enterprise there (both Center City and my insurance has already provided information directly to Enterprise), with a car for me. So I dropped off my car keys and signed a documents and immediately was given the form to sign for the rental, got the keys and was on my way. Drop off was exceptionally simple, took 5 minutes at most. They are great about communicating the status of your car and the work going on. The shop is clean and I feel like the people who work there do enjoy their jobs. I even saw one of the workers from the garage leave to help someone at a neighboring business to jump their car. My car was actually completed early and was given a full wash and wax. The repair was perfect and my car looks to be in perfect condition. There was no dust left on the exterior or interior from the repair. They even have little gifts for their customers, like t-shirts and cups, of which I also received (notice the gift boxes behind the counter). Everyone I worked with were friendly, straight forward and dedicated to getting things right. Sometimes at repair shops, I feel like I am being talked down to, this was not the case at Center City, they are very professional. I had an excellent experience, both this time and when I had my car repaired here before. I wholeheartedly recommend Center City Collision! P.S. We had an experience just like Becky L - this body shop is terrible. We have been lied to from the beginning, which was a month and a half ago, when we first gave them our car. We also chose this place based on Yelp reviews, and at first they seemed great. The owner, Kevin, was really nice. He told us that they take care of body and mechanics, so they would take care of my brakes as well while it was there. Since then, we have been told by others that they refuse to do any work on my brakes. I left my information, but Kevin never returned my call. We left our car there for the estimate, and once they heard back from the insurance, Kelsey called us and told us our car would be ready in a week and a half. Just enough time to pick up the car before we went on vacation. Two weeks later, we stopped in to check the status. Nothing had been done. Kelsey was waiting for the official estimate from the insurance. They never thought to give me a call to let me know that they were waiting for something. After ensuring that it got to them, I went on my trip. I expected that the car would be ready once I got back. Another two weeks later, and I get a message from my friend. He saw my car outside a body shop. They still hadn't started! After giving them another call, I find that they are waiting on the insurance for their response on something else. The shop said they left the insurance one voicemail, but didn't send them the estimate, despite having all of the information. I made sure to give them all of the information before I left, but instead of sending the estimate, they just left a voicemail and forgot about it. The insurance never got anything from them. The adjustor had a medical emergency, and was behind on voicemails. They never thought to let me know that their pitiful attempt at contacting the insurance hadn't worked. At this point, I began calling them every few days to ensure that my car would be ready by the time I got back. Kelsey told me she "thought" that they started fixing the car. I asked her to check. They did not. I was told it would be ready by Tuesday...then Thursday...then Friday after 5. I can't afford to rent a car any longer and insisted that we needed it a few hours earlier. She said no. I asked to speak to a manager, and she told me that all the managers were "busy". At this point, I became frustrated, and brought up that the owner never called me back from before. She hung up on me. My experience with this place has been disastrous. It's been a month and a half, and I regret ever taking my car here to begin with. They won't even get the car ready for me a few hours earlier. At this rate, I will never get my car back. I don't know what condition it will even be when I do get it. Hopefully, it will end up better than Becky L's car did. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Save yourself the frustration, find another shop. read more

I usually never write reviews, but I simply had to after the HORRIBLE experience I had at this body shop. Let me preface this review by saying that I had previously had an amazing experience 5 years prior. So much so, that I selected Carstar even though they weren't on the list of body shops approved by my insurance. Lets get into it: My car was towed on 8/3 and wasn't completed until 8/28. There was little to no communication, as far as when the car would be ready. I found myself reaching out to get updates, since they wouldn't call me. When I finally got the car back, the job LOOKED super rushed. CRAZY since they had it for almost a MONTH. The back bumper looked undone, the front bumper was missing my license plate, the car horn- which had nothing to do with the work being done- sounded like a disaster, and the interior door handle was broken off! I called multiple times and left multiple messages for someone to call me with all my concerns. NO ONE CALLED BACK. I finally got someone on the phone and they told me to bring the car back. I sent the car back and they gave me BS about the bumper and said nothing about my license plate. Jess, who I was conversing with EVERY time I called, was seemingly clueless after I had stated all my concerns. She put me through to the mechanic who told me to bring the car in YET AGAIN. When asked about my front license plate, he stated that Ohio didn't require a front plate so they DIDN'T PUT IT BACK ON! I have a vanity plate that I paid for. Why wouldn't you put it back on? Better yet, why wouldn't you RETURN IT TO ME? He told me he'd look for it and call me back. You guessed it- NO CALL BACK. I called yet again and luckily they found it and are mailing it to me. If I could give Carstar NO STARS I WOULD. I honestly wish I just would have chosen a body shop through my insurance. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP TO ANYONE! BEWARE!!!! read more

The only reason why I am giving them 1 star instead of ZERO is because the staff was always friendly and because zero stars is not allowed on Yelp :). Other than that, the service was extremely poor and I will never return here. I read the 'great' reviews on Yelp and Google and decided to take my car with a SMALL dent in it here. I decided to have them replace the whole bumper since the price was only $100 more. After receiving the quote, I made an appointment and was told that I would be able to drop it off and pick it up the same day (Thursday). I get a call in the middle of the day stating that I may have to pick it up the next day (Friday) because the paint was drying slow, okay fine no big deal to me. I then get a call at the end of the day Thursday that the bumper they ordered was damaged and they had to order a new one. This has me thrown off because just a few hours earlier, I was told the paint was drying on the bumper... Strike 1 - stories didn't match up. They said they won't receive the new bumper until Saturday and I won't be able to pick the car up until Monday morning - FOUR days after my promised return date. Strike 2. I call Monday morning to check on the status of my car and see what time I can pick it up. I am told that they never received the new bumper!!! And not to mention they didn't bother to call me over the weekend and give me a heads up either. Strike 3, 4, 5, and more. Now I am just pissed off because I am paying almost $1000 for a cosmetic change (new bumper, no mechanical damages to the car) that is taking OVER FOUR DAYS, all the while I do NOT have a rental. I am not one to write bad reviews and usually think positive about most things in life, but this experience has me livid where I would not want anyone to experience what I have. read more

Have had negative experiences with two different cars: 1- Wife's car was involved in a front left side impact. They fixed it up, however after she got it back her remote entry no longer worked. We took it back, they reportedly fixed it. One week later, it's broken again. This time, we take it to the dealership. After opening up the driver's side door panel, they bring us back to show us the handy work that Carstar had done. They had patch worked the inside of the door with a bunch of duct tape! It was clear they had no idea what they were doing with the electrical work. So, $200 later the dealership was able to fix it and we've had no problems since. 2- My car was hit in the front left bumper while parked on the street. They did a good job with the dents and repainting. I drove home thinking it was completely done. They call me a week later saying, "that extra piece you were waiting on just arrived." I said, "what extra piece?" They had never told me that there was an extra piece we were waiting on. I had no idea! So I take off from work early and drive out there. Once I get there, they say, "oops, it's not actually here yet" and basically laugh in my face about it. So then I had to wait a few more days and make another trip out there! I couldn't believe it. Overall, their cosmetic work is good. However, they lie to you, mislead you, and if they're working on something that isn't readily visible, they will half ass it and patch work it together. My wife's car was actually just hit again recently, but we will definitely be taking it elsewhere. read more

I had the best experience here. Well as great as it could be considering I was having to have work done on my car...and that's never fun! I needed two door handles replaced that had ripped off on frigid weather days. They were thoughtful enough to give me two quotes: one for getting the handles put on with paint matching and one without. I opted for without paint because that saved me about $300 total. But when I picked up my car they did the job for even less than they quoted me...$165 total for both handles attached. They had washed the outside of my car as well and I can't be positive but I THINK the inside was cleaner too! I was more than happy with their service and will definitely go back when I inevitably need more work done. read more

I had minor work done from scraping the side of my car along a parking garage wall, and it came back looking brand new. They also came back $200 under the estimate, and I had my car back in 3.5 days, instead of the 5-ish that was estimated. Lisa was very kind and patient with the paperwork and assisting me with a rental. (Enterprise will drop off and pick up rentals from this location, although I wasn't nearly as pleased with them.) The interior of my car had been thoroughly cleaned, and it's spotless inside and out. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend! read more

i've grown to become a pretty big fan of Center City Collision. and you should too. here's why... i've taken my car here twice. the first time was to ask questions about a roof repair (a nice gift that my car's previous owner left me). i had such a positive experience with them, that it was a no-brainer for me to go back when i got rear-ended a year later. +1 for paying attention to social media. as of last summer, Center City was the only auto body shop in cincinnati engaged in social media. not only that, but they were rated very well on yelp. (imagine that.) +1 for knowing that the guys in the office will actually read the review i'm writing now. while i was waiting in their shop for a rental car this week, i overheard one of the guys reading a new yelp review to his other staffers. again, good on you for paying attention to social media. +1 for offering an online estimate through their website. this allowed me to ask lots of questions before actually taking my car in. both chris and jim were very responsive over email. +1 for giving me unbiased advice about my roof (on two separate occasions), knowing full-well that i may opt to never get it repaired. it's clear that they're uncomfortable with doing bubble-gum-and-twine repairs (in a good way). they want to make the right fix, complete and thorough. +1 for professional and courteous office staff. they never dropped the ball once handing my insurance claim, repair, or rental. +1 for speed of service. i dropped off monday morning, and the car was ready tuesday. +1 for quality of work. i'm no expert, but my rear bumper looks as good as new. +1 for going above and beyond to wash/detail my car while they had it in the shop. yes, i'm the guy that took his car with bird poop all over it to the body shop. :o) the outside was washed, the wheels cleaned, the inside vacuumed and wiped down. thanks, guys. +1 for having a good local reputation. the enterprise rental car guy openly admitted that Center City was the "best in the city". recommended. if you're not completely sold on your own favorite body shop, give these guys a shot--even if it's a far drive for you. you won't be disappopinted. read more

I just brought my car home from being repaired here. This place is outstanding. I had relatively minor damage to my car and from the outset Carstar was professional and kind. They worked with me to try and see what would work with my insurance and around my crazy work schedule. Dan, who handled my case went over and above and was calming and didn't take advantage of the fact that I don't know anything about cars but worked to get the best price for me. He even told me about a factory recall on something in my car and didn't try to get me to fix it with them but told me exactly where to go to get it done for free. This kind of information is not obvious to everyone. He called when the part was in and they had me in and out in less than an hour and while I waited gave me access to a secured wireless connection. I hope not to have to go in again but I would really recommend this place. read more

Took my car in to have three bullet holes fixed, yep bullet holes, after enjoying a good chat and laugh, Kevin and the amazing crew got to work. They took care of all the insurance and not only fixed the car, but saved the bullets for me to show off, and CLEANED the car at no charge, and trust me it was NOT clean. I can not express my appreciation and love for this body shop and the people who work there. And thenI find out that they are VERY active in the local community! I chose this shop based on the positive reviews here, but was very disappointed from my experience. When I received my car, it clearly had not been cleaned. There was a layer of dust inside the vehicle and I had to wipe down the inside of the windshield to have enough visibility to drive the vehicle. Most importantly, when I inspected the entire vehicle, I found additional damage to the car that was not there before. The manager offered to repair the damage, but it was very discouraging seeing additional damage to the car during the repair. The folks working there were respectful, but I would not trust them with my vehicle again. read more

I choose this shop based on the reviews and I wish I would have done more research. They were great when I first contacted them about fixing my car. They were able to get me in for an estimate the same day I called and were able to get my car in the following week to be fixed. That is where the great customer service all of the other reviewers rave about stopped. I was told it would take 6 days to fixed my car. I contacted the shop after 7 days to see about the status of my car. I was told it would be ready the next day. The following day I get an email that my car wasn't ready and would be done the next day. The next day, as I'm getting ready to leave work to pick up my car, I get a phone call that my car still isn't ready and would be ready the next day. Again, the next day I get a voicemail that my car still wasn't done. On to day 12, I followed up with the shop and they told me my car would be done at 4 pm. At 3:30 they called to tell me my car would not be ready until 5:30-6pm. When I finally did get my car back, the job they did detailing left a lot to be desired. I'm not sure why they bothered to wash it because there were water spots all over. For a shop that prides themselves on communication, they were terrible. I was never told of any issues they had getting parts, etc. I'm pretty sure I would still be in the dark had I not reached out to them first. I would not recommend using this business unless you don't mind them taking double the amount of time to fix your car and not communicating with you. I will never use this shop again for any kind of body work and will tell others in need of body work to go elsewhere. read more

This was unfortunately the worst experience I have had with any business. My Wife was involved in a front side accident and our insurance company recommended Carstar. They missed multiple deadlines and the repairs took longer than promised costing me more money for a rental. Not only was my car not fixed properly but the work done caused added damages to my drivers seat and the engine was overheating. After I brought these damages to their attention they told me "It was a pre-existing condition". My car was non operational and they refused to fix damages they caused and I was forced to Tow the car and fix their mistakes at my own expense. The way this company operates should be against the law. Please don't do business with Carstar read more

I heard about Center City Collision from my sister after she took her car there to get body work done. I had a dent in my driver door and the paint was scratched off. The door also made a horrible creaking sound every time I opened it. Center City Collision was very friendly and able to fit my repair in their new 24 hour repair program. My car was ready to pick up a day later all shiny and good as new. I would definitely recommend them in the future. read more

They communicate honestly and thoroughly and the even managed my budget from my Allstate deductable very effectively right before a vacation.
