McBride's is one of several locations so you can check out and compare these. Certainly seems like a place to come for a gathering. There's plenty of tables as well as TVs for watching games and whatever kinds of sports. Beers and other alcoholic beverages are why you come to an Irish pub of course. It's got a few deals going on. There's of course the Guinness on tap. Can't go wrong with it. Saturdays it's $6 a pint. As for the food, it's basic. It's $7 to get a few of the Pretzel Sticks. Could be the healthiest food here. These are topped with garlic butter and salt, and served with bistro sauce and nacho cheese, but I got mine without the butter and had mustard. Have to say it's a lot better than expected. It's got lots of specials that help save money for more to get drunk on. The food is okay while being pretty meaty, with bangers and mash types of things, but they also have pretzels.

(I soon learned exactly how) On a chalk board nearby I saw "Burger special $6". I'm not against dropping a coin or two for a good feed, but I've found a lot of places that look like this are akin to those coin-operated machines with a claw that you try to snag an expensive looking gift, only to have it drop just short of the hopped that delivers it to you. Close, but no Cicada... How could they foul up a burger? (I soon learned exactly how) The Wedge was weird-all the stuff heaped on top of the Iceburg slice, and the waste was...weird. Not bad or spoiled, just. Weird. The burger tasted odd, too. I'm betting it was out of a box. frozen as a penguin's ass. Y'know...penguin ass might have been the protein source for this, but I digress. (kidding, but that's how odd the "burger" tasted) I had a Guinness, which was properly poured, and a properly poured pint of the black stuff is worth 2 stars. I've personally been here probably over 50 times (no joke) since I've moved to Plainfield 2 yrs ago. Everything I've ever had was spot on great food. 1st bad experience: They added a few new items to the menu which I was super excited about. I had the carne asada. I was skeptical at first because, I mean this isn't a traditional Mexican restaurant but I thought.....why not.....everything else has always been super good. A lot of places use Goya Adobo but thats pure salt with no taste. Criolla Adobo is good on all meats & gives it a great taste. If you're gonna grill it.....season with Adobo & put in a zip lock bag over night with vinegar.....& oh emm geee.....the most tender, flavorful skirt steak!!! I've even left 'em seasoning for 3 days...& thats even better & more tender.

The Farmer's Breakfast was really good hearty, fresh, and exactly what you want to start your day. But the real star of the table was the shaved Brussels sprout Caesar bruschetta. Zero complaints on the maintenance staff they were very aware of golfers and very polite. This was my first time ever golfing more than mini golf. Knowing I would be slow we immediately let a twosome play through. We kept an eye on the twosome behind us to make sure they weren't waiting. It was getting close but they were just slightly slower than us in terms of pace. A course manager (not sure what they're called) waited for me to get some pointers and then politely interrupted asking if we are allowing people to play through. He clearly didn't know we had already let a twosome play through and were keeping a close eye on the twosome behind us. I was already embarrassed enough from playing terrible and just decided to skip the rest of this hole and let the two some behind us play through and my friend continued to finish the hole and I started on the next hole but at least he was polite. Again, the twosome was slightly slower than us so the next couple of holes we were actually waiting a minute or two on them. No big deal they were super thankful and we were fine to wait. Then a female twosome came up behind us as we were waiting for the twosome in front to get off the green, that's when a different course manager came up to us on the fairway and rudely/aggressively yelled at us "you can't just sit there, the ladies behind you are about to tee off!" We pointed to the men infront of us as they started to pull away and stated we were just waiting for them to go. He sarcastically said "oh you really think you can hit that far?" My friend then gets out and hits his ball which lands not 5-10 yards from where the other twosome had just been then makes a joke about had the tree not been there it would've gone farther. Actually it landed just about where one of the men had just been standing. We picked up my ball and I was done playing for the day. My friend finished the next 2 holes. This is probably a great course for a decent price for experienced golfers but definitely not beginner friendly solely because of the staff.

Inside this location resembles an industrial sports bar with concrete floors and iron accompaniments throughout the establishment. Service was good, the waitress was really friendly, kind, and accommodating. The ticket times were fine, not super get out of here fast, but also not you're stuck in the booth slow. Coworker ordered a patty melt and waffle fries with Italian spring rolls. I ordered basically a custom blackened salmon sandwich with only avocado on it and a side of waffle fries. I had a pretzel too. The pretzel was a bit weird for me; felt and tasted like a brioche bun which overall the idea seems amazing, but I want my pretzels exceptionally salty. The salmon was acceptable but realistically overcooked. The fries were amazing, quite possibly the best version of waffle fries I've ever had. Think of Arby's seasoned curly fries but in a waffle shape. Overall not a bad meal but not an exceptional one. I'd return if I had to revisit this area for work again.

It was quite tasty and had generous portions of blue cheese and bacon, yummy. V had a Lamb Chop which came with mashed potatoes. He enjoyed his meal, it the lamb was cooked well done, just like he ordered. We shared a slice of Blueberry Cheesecake, and it was the perfect finish to the meal.
