So called to confirm availability of the car I wanted and when I showed up, got the keys to test drive it without any type of sales pitch. Personally I prefer this style. You know the price upfront and there's no need to haggle. They ended up being the be price for my car and also matched another dealership for my trade in value. Kye Au Claire, my sales guy, was really easy to deal with and professional as well as knowledgeable. He didn't over promise but he over delivered. Everything took less than 3 hours and I didn't have to sacrifice my weekend. Initially when I took the car home, the detailing wasn't up to par. Service department was slower to respond to calls and appointment requests but Kye stepped up and coordinated that on my behalf. When I brought the car back for service items, Ryan was quick and attentive and they addressed the issues within a day, albeit waiting on my extra key from BMW. When you shop from a small business, you support big dreams. And while your business isn't for everyone, it is for a lot of people. People like myself who value relationships and customer servicing. Unfortunately I have to update my review. I have been dealing with the power steering rack on my car failing. After going back and forth with Armando Lopez in the service department and the general manager Raymond Lonsway I have been told they will not offer any assistance to me. I even asked if they would split my cost and they said no. The situation was dragged out for over a month while my vehicle say waiting for repairs. On 09/01 I received a email from Armando, "so I have look at the invoice you sent over to me. What is the final cost to the repair. And if we agree on it you would need to pay for and then send me the invoices with a receipt for a reimbursement" I felt this was good to hear and I continued with the repairs to my car. It wasn't until 09/27 that they said they wouldn't cover any of the cost. I have had the car for 8 months now and driven it 8000 miles and I just put $5000 into it. The power steering rack had to be replaced and when the alignment was performed I was told my tires were worn so badly the alignment wasn't accurate and the tires were two different brands with different wear issues. I replaced the tires. When the car was delivered, I noted a few items and was told they would be resolved and after taking the car into the dealership they were either not resolved or it was done poorly but I just decided to move on and not worry about them and now this. I am always happy to refer people to business that I have had success with but now I will do my best to keep at least one person from buying a vehicle from your dealership. If you want to buy a car from them have it looked at by an independent shop or like me, I will never recommend or use The Carshop again. I understand there is always a risk in buying a used car but after this problem it makes zero sense to buy from a dealership what will not stand behind what they sell. read more

Very disappointed with this place. They have replaced a gasket on my Ram do to a leak. I have paid that day $900 just to have same problem within a month or so. When I called Armando the service manager, he told me that they are going out of business and didn't do anything to help. Nothing but excuses! The car was clean, and people were professional. CarShop was a top notch experience. William was our sales representative and was fantastic. He did sales right. There were no gimmicks, there was no uncomfortable sales pressure, and there were no hurt feelings. The warranties offered complementary were exceptional, and the service contracts were fairly priced. The whole transaction was quick and easy, and we would be happy to purchase a car here again. There wasn't much I can say was wrong with the place. Any hiccups that happened were negligible, and resolved fast enough to not even consider an issue. Managers, as someone who use to work as an assistant manager at a car company, I believe William would be on track for a good candidate down the road for a similar position. Not a good experience. I begged the rep (Kye AuClaire) to tell me up front about any concerns before I made the two hour drive. Was very specific about this request. He assured me this would be done. Guess what...the concerns weren't taken care of. He considers these minor and feels by sending someone to fix the concerns, I should be satisfied. I am very inconvenienced by not having my car, having someone who might be a bad driver drive my car and four hours worth of wear and tear put on my car to say nothing if gas at $5/gallon. The real issue is that if he had done his job, none of this would be necessary. The repairs still aren't complete. I wish I had never bought this vehicle. read more

Update: The manager contacted me shortly after my original review. I emailed multiple photos of the frame and subframe, shared where I got it inspected, and shared that the repair shop found no evidence of subframe damage. What you see below is their response; how disingenuous. Not once during this entire experience could they tell me where and to what extent the damage was. It became my responsibility to prove that I didn't have damage. If there really was damage, there would be no need for me to take the car there for a third time to be shown the damage. That information could have easily been shared over the phone yet it wasn't because they had no documentation of the damage which is a huge system failure in need of a process change. If they were willing to devalue the car by 40% based off claims of damage, they should be able to substantiate those claims. Original review: If you are considering doing business with CarShop, please read this first. I was looking to sell my car and out of all the companies that buy used cars, (carvana, vroom, carmax, etc.) CarShop offered me the most. A salesperson was in contact with me shortly after submitting my cars information and I was able to schedule an appointment within 24 hours. The initial appointment went well. I filled out a document with my cars information while someone did an inspection and did a test drive. I was told there was no one available to do a frame inspection that day and to come back Monday. This was no big deal and I made my follow up appointment. Before I left, I asked the salesperson to write my offer down so I had a reference- $6,500. On Monday morning, I meet the salesperson and we started the process of handing over the registration and title while the frame was being checked. Everything was going well until I'm informed there is subframe damage to my car. Confused by this discovery, I asked what that is and how it could have happened. I'm informed it could have happened if the car was bottomed out or went over a curb/speed bump too fast. My car was a rental before I bought it, so it seemed possible. It was at this time my husband came to meet me and we were told the new price would be $4,000 due to this subframe damage. After this point, the salesperson started putting a lot of pressure to sell the car because the market was changing. He emphasized how the owner of the company would never allow a car to be resold with existing damage and the company practices with honesty and integrity. My husband encouraged me to wait and not sell, so I asked the salesperson to give me some time to think it over. The following day, I took my car to my local mechanic who had been servicing the car for years and explained what happened. I had a complete inspection of the car including an inspection of the underside of the car, frame, and subframe. Given the events of the day before, I was worried about this potential damage. What I did not expect however, was to find out I had been lied to. There was zero damage to the subframe and the mechanic even included photos. I was at a loss of how to feel but my immediate feeling was violated. This company had no problem lying directly to me, assuming I wouldn't know any better, and pressuring me to sell, all the while emphasizing their trustworthiness and impeccable integrity. Luckily I didn't waste too much time with these guys. I was trying to get rid of a vehicle to them and I'm out of state. I had to constantly follow up with these guys and it just became a hassle. Most places like these Carmax clones love to harass you with automated emails to have you sell your car to them. This place is the opposite but in a bad way. I initially reached out to these guys for a quote on a very new car. They couldn't give me a price after I did their online appraisal due to their buyer claiming the car needed to be registered with the state. Fair enough so I waited a few weeks. When the time came to sell the car, I reached out for a final time to see if they could give me a quote. Whomever I was dealing with said they'd get back to me. I waited a few days and I never heard back. I ended up selling it to a dealership in the east coast and they even picked it up for free, on top of being very competitive. Car Shop would of had me ship it to them on my own dime and I would of had to account for that as an added expense to myself. The last contact I had with them was with me waiting for the same response of waiting for them to give me a quote. They just never followed up at all and most times, it's me being proactive and I already had 1-2 high offers at this point and I figured it was too annoying to follow up so I just got rid of it. Carshop won't tell you that they have certain stipulations on how they get cars, or at least in my specific situation. Not only are they out of state unfriendly, they need to do an in person appraisal with the car actually present. The dealer who I sold my car to did not need any of this and everything was done online and via text and FEDEX. Out of state cars just seem too much hassle for them unless it's a car in demand that they want. Again, they will tell you anything you want to hear so you can be on their home turf. I just don't have to patience to deal with places who I have to follow up to give business as there's so many choices to sell your car to. F-, won't deal with again. Cue the bot or low paid PR guy to give me a BS apology about how they did wrong and would make up to me. Sure, I know how to do this, give me a first class plane ticket to Germany and give me a budget of $5000 for hookers and blow for a week. Trying to sell a car here is a waste of time; they give you an estimate over email and confirm over a phone call that they're interested in the car for the price they offer then, once you take the drive to get there, they lowball you. Bought a 2022 model car with less than 3,000 miles on it from the CarShop in Scottsdale for my son at UofAZ in Tucson. During the process I was handed off to 2 different salespeople and each had to start over. I paid cash for it and was told that the 6 month warranty would cover everything on the car and then the manufacturer's warranty would take over. We have been dealing with a slow air leak in the rear passenger side tire and took it into the local dealership in Tucson. The dealer told me that the rim is cracked and that the tire on does not match the other tires on the car, so something is not right. The rim is almost $600 and we aren't sure if there is any damage to the car beyond the wheel. I called the CarShop and explained the situation and asked how they would like to handle it with their warranty. I was told that they would not be covering it. They told me that the 6 month warranty would not cover this type of situation. The dealer in Tucson was very helpful and nice, but told me that the manufacture's warranty would not cover the wheel or any damage due to impact. I am in the Bay Area and my son is in Tucson, so we wanted a very dependable vehicle for him. This has been a very disappointing experience and now expensive. I do believe that the CarShop people did know about the condition of the vehicle and sold the vehicle dishonestly. If you do buy a vehicle from the CarShop, make sure to take it to an independent shop and pay for an inspection. I also want to make note that I used CarFax to locate the vehicle and it had a clean CarFax report. They wouldn't give me a ride to the bank to get them a cashier's check...they did give me a free bottle of water though... read more

For the love of everything good in the world, worst experience here. First off the typical bait and switch.. "oh several people are interested in the vehicle, come in right away". I had literally been texting with sales associate all day (i will not place the name here) ,and they just now tell me this when I start asking the tough questions. Its just crazy how unorganized they were. Low and behold im 5 minutes away and I FINALY get a phone call that the "prospective" buyers have arrived and with a check". How convenient. I had already submitted info on the vehicle and the associate was sloppy and drug the process along. Very frustrating and lack of experience shows here and I question the ethics and integrity as well. When you call prepared to be talked over, given the run-around, and overall be left in the dark. I bought a car here a couple months ago after the dealership had just opened. The car was a BMW in a spec (color, interior, etc) that I was looking for, and the price was fair considering the market. They offered me more than I expected for my trade, and the process (no-haggle pricing) was long, but relatively easy, and I left the lot with my new (to me) car. I had to go back to finish some paperwork and get the promised "detail," and a week after that (so two weeks after the sale), I washed the car myself. Now, I'd looked at it pretty closely the day I bought it, and it appeared to be in almost pristine condition, which made sense given the low miles. When I washed it and took a second look? Scratches on the trunk lid. I scratched my head, because I would have noticed that. A week later, I washed it again and began to detail it myself (polish and wax) and noticed even more scratches. It wouldn't have been a deal-breaker since the car was in great shape otherwise, and since it was a few weeks since the sale there was nothing to be done, but it does very much seem like the scratches were covered up by the dealership. Sharpie? Cheap temporary paint? Did they scratch it when they did the "detail?" I don't know. But they weren't visible when I bought the car. Caveat emptor, folks. read more

He insisted that he would give me "way too much" for my car, and more than what KBB offered me online. I figured why not. This man offered me FOUR THOUSAND dollars LESS than KBB. The whole thing was honestly embarrassing and insulting. We were looking for a specific car and Car Shop had exactly what we were looking for. We arrived at the lot and went inside to see if the car was still available, it was. Instead of taking us to the lot our sales person said he would have it brought to the showroom. While we're waiting he explained how they did things. The car Wes brought up, freshly washed. After attaching a dealer plate we were allowed to go on a test drive by ourselves, no sales person in the back seat prying information from us. Very pleasant surprise. Back at the lot our sales person, Max Lester greater us at the door, not rushing the car, another pleasant surprise. We went inside and discused the car, the price, details of the sale, all with Max. We had another car to look at, which we did. And came back. We sat down with Max and did financing paperwork etc. Durring the whole transaction there was no pressure, we did every thing with Max. It was by far the most pleasant car purchase I have ever experienced. I would so VERY HIGHLY recommend this car dealer to anyone that hates the "high pressure " car buying experience. read more
