I like the variety, and recently I my coupon didn't show up, it was a problem with the soda buy two get two free and the Grocery Check out person made sure I got the coupon honored. I always find what I need, and this weekend they have their 5$-6$-7$ items available through the weekend. Carr's also selling local farmers produce and products. General chicken was dry , we picked our meals around 6:30 pm Maybe it was just end of day overcooked , still should have been fresh. Noodles and rice also dried out. I love shopping at Carr's, but two weeks ago I asked the store manager if they had a policy in your story that people have to wear mascara in the store. Her response to me was there's not a loss so they don't force it because people get hostile with them which I can understand to a degree but I have a right and other people have a right to go into the store and be safe. And I wish cars would enforce mass wearing in their store other stores do it Walmart does it Fred Meyer's dad said target does and there's no excuse to make people leave. If a customer doesn want to wear a mask then shop onli and have groceries brought to their car. read more

I have been going to Safeway in Wasilla since it opened. I have mostly received a great experience. Lately tho, this has changed. I have asked that certain things be carried like they do at the Palmer Store, but to no avail. Last week, I went in and the store clerk never once greeted me, and did not even look at me. Then she pushed my grocery bag at me and I wasn't expecting that and it went to the floor. All the groceries went everywhere. I waited for about 5 seconds hoping for a "I'm sorry! Let me help pick that up!" But the clerk didn't say a word and did not offer to help. I put everything back on the counter for her to bag. She shoved it all in the bag again and then turned away from me and started ringing up the person behind me before I could even pick up my groceries. When I called the night manager to complain, they asked me if I knew her. I didn't! Never saw this particular clerk before. But what would that matter? Her attitude was awful and she shouldn't be working with the public with that outlook. But they did nothing. Didn't even say they would speak to her, just offered a weak apology. Thank you but no thank you. I will be going to Fred Meyers from now on. read more

I have yet to have a bad experience at this Carrs! Well, other than sometimes I get a slow cashier. Big deal. They happen. Going by the 10 reviews I've just read about this store, all 1 to 5 years old, I'm assuming they've upped this store's management in some form or another. This rating is for one thing and one thing only: the chicken wings. Recently Carr's added a self-serve wing bar to their deli area. You can also call ahead and order them by the pound. They have several different flavor stop choose from and all are good. It's not going to be the best wings you ever had, but it's fast and economical. I love cars! It's the best store I've found in wasilla for produce. I've also found spices there that I haven't been able to find anywhere else. Their pre made salads are always fresh with lots of goodies . Their bakery area is well stocked with a variety of yummy breads & sweets. Do not get flowers delivered from here!! I recently went in to have flowers delivered to my wife for Valentine's Day. I picked everything out and the lady at the desk ask for all my info for the delivery. She said that they deliver from 8am to 5 pm and that I have to answer my phone when they call to confirm someone will be home. I gave her my phone number and she asked for my wife's number too. I told her they only needed mine and that I will answer and be home. The lady said it's policy that we need her number in there too and not to worry they would not contact her. I told her it is a surprise and only call my number. I set my alarms to be up at 8am and around 1030 am my wife gets a call to confirm if she is going to be home so she can get her flowers. I am so disappointed and angry. This was supposed to be a surprise. I payed a lot of money for them to do this and they have completely ruined everything. read more

Bluck. Tiny, horribly organized store, complete with cart jams and the worst parking lot situation in Wasilla, I kid you not. The seating area's filthy and poorly set up, the poor employees are overworked (they have two disabled employees, one with a foot problem, working cart retrieval) and as always the prices are awful. That's not even mentioning the women's bathroom- I'm almost scared to touch the doors, they're so sticky and filthy. They remodeled the place a while ago and ignored everything that wasn't purely cosmetic in the women's bathroom- the towel dispensers have those impossible-to-turn spinwheels on either side, and the old lock on the disabled stall's been broken, so they literally put in another one and Sharpied on two big black arrows pointing to it and wrote LOCK. Absolutely horrible. I'm not blaming the store itself for its problems; it's probably one of the most unloved ever, especially considering the Palmer store just moved into a brand-spanking-new building. But for goodness sakes, they could try a little harder. The selection and produce itself is as one expects; decent enough if you can get through the traffic jams in the aisles. The garden section is actually quite delightful; the plants are mostly healthy and there's a wide selection of orchids. read more

Such a fun little store. It is like every other Carrs in the state of Alaska if you have ever been to one. Its a more homier Fred Meyer and isnt as big so its easier to get in and out. Putting the baked good and deli to good use is something I would definately recommend. Everything is fresh and ready to go for a quick lunch or fast stop. Salad bar isnt too bad either :) read more

7/12/16 Had to do some late night shopping or go without eggs and milk for breakfast. Chose to shop. Normally I don't shop late at night, but this is Alaska and summer subsistence activities are a priority. I had my 4-year old and 2-year old with me because their dad is working out of town. My 4-year old suddenly had to go potty. We walk all the way to the other side of the grocery store and the public rest rooms are locked. I holler, "Is there an employee who can unlock the restroom door? Hello? I need an employee to help me! My little boy is going to pee his pants!" An employee checks through an employee's only area doorway to see who is yelling, pays no mind and goes back to whatever he was doing. Other customers look at me like I'm crazy. My son has to go potty bad and I see that the normally locked after hours entrance is wide open. I take my son outside and instruct him to urinate on the wall beside the doorway. I am humiliated and very angry. I couldn't imagine how much worse I would feel if my son had peed his pants or if he were a little girl having no choice but to pee outside like a dog. I go back inside the store to see a young employee who reminds me of a deer caught in headlights. I am very angry and inform him my 4-year-old had to pee outside the front entrance because the restroom doors are locked and ask for the manager. Other customers are still gawking. The manager and employee both claim they did not hear me yelling. They tell me that there is another bathroom next to the pharmacy way in the back at the other end of the store. The manager apologizes profusely and blames it on the junkies that the store now has to lock their main public restrooms. I leave and abandon my groceries in the store. My 4-year old and 2-year old sons are upset and crying because there were things in the cart they really wanted. My 4-year-old begs me to go back in and buy the groceries. I don't want to ever spend another dollar in that store, but decide to pay for the groceries because I don't want my babies to be upset and I don't want to go on another shopping trip to Walmart. It's late and my babies and I are very tired. I decide that I will use the reference number on my receipt and raise awareness that locking the public restrooms is ridiculous. Walmart doesn't lock their restrooms preventing customers from using the bathroom. There are three available restrooms at Walmart for customers and they are never locked to stop customers from using them. Wasilla Safeway management is stupid and their customer service sucks. read more
