I pulled into space number 17 and checked in with the color of my car. My check-in time was 6:23 PM. I waited and waited and waited. A guy came out with groceries and asked me for my pin number from the order and I gave it to him and he said oh I don't have the right order and will be out in a little bit. I waited and waited and waited. The lady next to me got her groceries after pulling in after me and said I may want to call the store number and let them know you've been waiting for over an hour. I did that at least four times and no answer. A guy was delivering groceries to someone else's car and I went over to him and I said it's been well over an hour and I still don't have my groceries and he said he would check into it next and bring them out. I waited another 15 minutes. I put in a call to the one 800 customer service and got a guy on the phone and he asked me all my information and he said he would check me in and I said I already did that at 6:23 PM. And he said he would do it again and by that time the guy finally came out with my groceries and he says well you have everything. I said well I'm not happy with the service and I feel as though I deserve something because my time is just as valuable as everybody else and it was clearly a complete screwup on their end. I said I'm not satisfied with that. He says well that's all he can do and I said it's not acceptable and I expect something and he hung up the phone on me. I went into the grocery store and talked to the manager and of course she wasn't very helpful. She said they had a refrigerator problem and the people had to run back back-and-forth in the store, not my problem. I got some sorry and there was nothing she could do so clearly she didn't care either. I called the one 800 customer service number back again and talk to a gentleman. explained the situation all over again. I said I feel as though my time is valuable and I'm not satisfied with how I was treated by anybody so far so he offered me a $10 coupon. To be honest with you, not looking to get my groceries for free, but certainly my time is worth more than $10 but at least he was decent to talk to and tried his best. Wow y'all, wow. I…read moreknow tensions are high and we're getting cabin fever, but can we please show some empathy for the people that are out on the front lines? Fred Meyer's employees put themselves at risk of infection every day. They are overworked and understaffed and underpaid. They, along with medical professionals and first responders, are keeping us alive right now. The only difference is that they are paid and respected much less by our society. To clear a few things up: Instacart: is not owned by Fred Meyer. If you have a problem with them, you shouldn't put that on Fred Meyer. Also: Instacart workers are also on the front lines, and need your compassion. It's a GOOD THING: that grocery stores are being strict about returns. THIS DISCOURAGES HOARDING, in addition to being SAFE. In times like this, we should only buy what we NEED. OK, so with that soapbox out of the way: Freddies is doing a great job, all things considered. Social distancing markers are in place on the floors. Employees are constantly sanitizing and/or changing out gloves. Food is getting re-stocked only days after the hoarders take it all. Despite all the added strain, employees remain cheerful and eager to help. Oh, and they are keeping alcohol sales going...essential indeed. Let's be nice, and keep it classy, Anchorage. We'll get through this.
