The quality of care was inferior due to insufficient numbing procedure as well as a lack of patience, empathy and insensitivity to my pleads and screams for more numbing due to extreme pain. My cries for help fell on deaf ears. In return, he kept on grinning in my face. I had brought two people with me, my pastor and a geriatric nursing assistant; both stayed in the exam room with me throughout the procedure and was shocked by the doctors behavior. I've never been so horribly treated and subjected to this kind of inhumane experience. He didn't even provide my nursing home facility with any written followup for continuous care to the injured right big toe. Needless to say, I won't ever return to his office again.

I got an MRI which revealed that I would need surgery due to three torn ligaments. Although I was a little skeptical at first, since surgeries take a while to recover from, Dr. Bannerjee early explained the entire procedure which made me feel a lot more comfortable about having the surgery. The surgery was very successful and Dr. Bannerjee made sure that I had all of my questions answered during my many visits. They are efficient here. I was able to book an appointment online, finish e-check in before hand, and arrive on time with everything already in their system. They simply asked to scan my ID and that's it. No need to fumble for insurance card. After a short wait, the nurse came out to get me. I love it when there's no long wait at the doctor's. In a corner in the waiting room is a stool with two cute legs / feet underneath. Interestingly the stool says "do not sit here." Tempting! The office is on the ninth floor of a building near Dupont Circle, and there's security guard downstairs who asks for your ID and make you sign in (a bit different from most medical offices in similar buildings).

I suspect that if I had waited any longer, I might not have been able to narrowly dodge surgery like I just did for a much more complex and serious bone condition that definitely is NOT a stress fracture (and apparently was missed on X-rays, too). It's difficult to write this review but I know that many patients like me rely on these opinions. It's scary to think that intuition and some luck are what saved me from letting this go incorrectly treated and facing a much bigger problem down the road where it'd be too late to avoid surgery.

She spent an HOUR with me in my initial consult, asking great questions, explaining the mechanics of the foot and what could be going wrong and talking about possible next steps (pun intended lol). She listened attentively, made sure that I understood what she was explaining and she asked me what my goals were ---sadly, none of those things apply to my previous podiatrist. I've had moments when I've regretted having surgery. But when I left Dr. Rolle's office today, I actually felt optimistic. It costs $199/year, but is worth every cent (and then some). It's kind of like a medical "start-up" done right. Online scheduling, really long appointments, nice offices. Check 'em out.
