Unfortunately, I didn't receive a warm welcome from the receptionist nor the doctor. I'm a 77 year old diabetic and immobile. The quality of care was inferior due to insufficient numbing procedure as well as a lack of patience, empathy and insensitivity to my pleads and screams for more numbing due to extreme pain. My cries for help fell on deaf ears. In return, he kept on grinning in my face. I had brought two people with me, my pastor and a geriatric nursing assistant; both stayed in the exam room with me throughout the procedure and was shocked by the doctors behavior. I've never been so horribly treated and subjected to this kind of inhumane experience. He didn't even provide my nursing home facility with any written followup for continuous care to the injured right big toe. Needless to say, I won't ever return to his office again.

However, I was recommended an orthopedic boot and given no information how to put it on or walk in it. I waited for her to come back and give me the boot and explain how to use it but instead a person came back into the room that I think was an assistant or a student in training? He was by himself and handed me a boot and said here you go I was told to give you this. I expected a little bit of info of how to walk in this new boot to prevent further injury or even how to put it on, but that didn't happen. I googled it in the exam room by myself before I left and figured out how to put my boot on so I could leave the room. Later I was billed over $700 for this boot that I found online for $75 while I was trying to figure out how to walk in it. When I found out it was a $75 boot I could buy from Amazon, I looked at the notes from the doctor that said they explained the purpose of the boot and how to use it and walk in it but no, that never happened (not like that's worth the $625 premium anyways). I was told the only way to dispute this charge is to talk to Tatijana, the office manager. I called 14 business days in a row but she was in a meeting all 14 times I called so I left messages and finally after 14 calls she took my call (she never called me back despite 14 days in a row of messages). She said she would look into my concerns and call me back. No response after 30 more days and I have continued to call once a week but she's in a meeting each time I call. Even if I received a call back that said "hey we know we sent you out of this office with a boot that was marked up over 800% with no instruction how to use it and you have to deal with it" that would be better than being ignored by the manager 20 times. There are a lot of foot doctors in the area, don't waste your time on this one.

In addition to being warm and friendly with an incredible bedside manner, "Dr. Mo" is BRILLIANT! She spent an HOUR with me in my initial consult, asking great questions, explaining the mechanics of the foot and what could be going wrong and talking about possible next steps (pun intended lol). She listened attentively, made sure that I understood what she was explaining and she asked me what my goals were ---sadly, none of those things apply to my previous podiatrist. I've had moments when I've regretted having surgery. But when I left Dr. Rolle's office today, I actually felt optimistic. Dr. Kimbrough was extremely patient in dealing with any issue or concern I threw at him. One Medical Group is membership-based primary care. It costs $199/year, but is worth every cent (and then some). It's kind of like a medical "start-up" done right. Online scheduling, really long appointments, nice offices. Check 'em out.
