I have two rescues; a hound dog (62 lbs) and a chawinie (12 lbs). I have been taking them to Carries for close to two years now for nail trimming. The dogs will NOT allow me to trim their nails. The small dog needed to be muzzled at first, however the CC staff is so loving and awesome, he now tolerates the dremmal with NO muzzle!!! I see some negative reviews under this listing and under nearly every single negative review that I read, the writer does not understand dog adoption/ rescue or even the nature of dogs. Every single dog -- including a dog that you get from a breeder, requires training and a dog/ human bond. I saw reviews complaining about behavior and even "house training" as though the dog should be a mind reader. Wow. If you would like an awesome dog; there are plenty who need good homes. Do your research and have realistic expectations. Volunteer to be a dog walker for a shelter. This is a great way to get to know a dog before you adopt. Its also a terrific way to teach your teenager (who wants a pet) responsibility and commitment and it helps shelter dogs to de stress and increase their chances of adoption. But mostly -- shift your expectations to a range that is more consistent with the real world if you would like to increase your peace and serenity. I wish you well.

My new little sweetie we adopted from Carrie. She was very kind and helpful throughout the adoption process. She really cares about her pets

I just adopted a sweet little dog from Carrie, she was very helpful during the whole experience, she made sure that we were a good home before letting us adopt. She really puts her animals first. If you are looking to adopt an animal please do not hesitate to do go to Carrie's Critters!!!

Taking our new boy home. Thank you Carrie!

It can't be easy in this day and time to perceive what is true and what is not in how healthy an incoming dog is or whose home is a loving home.

Calming Nature Pet Grooming - So bad!!

    Calming Nature Pet Grooming

I have a Yorkie/Maltese (14 1/2) and a Maltese (4) that I take in every four weeks. I also had a Yorkie/Maltese that passed four years ago that went here for years as well. They area also always on time with your animals and they will let you know that instead of two hours (for my two small dogs) it will be two hours and fifteen minutes that day. When I show up, they are ready at that time. I have been to groomers that would keep my girls for FIVE hours or more, and just tell you they will call you when your animal is ready. That's just ridiculous. Both of my girls get excited when I tell them I am taking them to the groomers. They used to shake when they would first come out of the carrier, but that was just due to the strange scents and what not. Now they come out wagging their tails and crawl right to Taylor and Joe. I am constantly asked where I take my girls because their grooming is so good. I HIGHLY recommend Calming Nature. You won't be disappointed. Yes their prices have gone up, but they did not raise their prices for the longest time AND they are still cheaper than any place anyone I know takes their dogs. That is NOT a reason to give them a bad review. They also have their cancellation policy posted, they are a business and have people wanting appointments. If you cancel last minute, they can't fill that appointment. A lot of places do the same thing whether it be salons or doctor offices. Remember, if it's your first time there it might take a few times to get exactly what you want if you are picky about what you like. Joe is so great about listening to what you like, or what you don't like and will implement it for you. I have asked him to try something new just to see if I would like it and realized I did not in fact like it at all. It just ended with a "let's not do that again." Just be honest and if you don't like something and let him know if you do.

I found K9 Grooming through Yelp and I'm so glad I did. We drive 30 minutes to get here and I won't lie, the salon is pricey. It usually costs me around $300 with trip for a standard Aussie and mini Aussie regular groom. But it is absolutely worth it. My dogs are my babies. We have a 6-year-old Aussie we've had since he was a puppy, and we recently added our rescue mini Aussie who is now 8. Our rescue has extreme anxiety from her past trauma, including living in a hoarding situation. The team here treats both of our dogs like family. I've never once worried about the way they're cared for. The salon is spotless. Anytime I walk into a grooming place that smells like urine or feces or is chaotic with constant barking, it's an instant red flag for me. K9 Grooming is completely different. It's clean, calm, and you can even watch your dogs being groomed so there's no mystery about how they're treated. Recently our neighbor warned us about fleas in the area, so I called K9 as a concerned pet mom. They were so helpful. They told me they'd start with a regular bath and, if they found any fleas, they'd do the treatment and call us so we could prep the house. Sure enough, they found a few a went forward with the flea bath. They provided me with helpful information and next steps. I sincerely appreciate the level of care, transparency, and customer service the staff provide. I could never take my dogs anywhere else after coming here.

Australian shepherds have very thick double coats, she requires grooming at least every six weeks. From the front desk, all the way back to the groomers they're always so professional, and Mila is always so extremely eager and happy to go there; that says so much. I've had my fair share of very bad grooming experiences, with this very dog. K9 Design Grooming Salon has changed my perspective and Mila's perspective on grooming experiences. We used to live extremely close to the Salon, but we recently bought a house in Olympia and still make the drive! We love K9 Design Grooming!!
