Atlas just had another spectacular grooming session, reminding me why we happily make the 2 1/2-hour drive just to see his groom team. He absolutely adores them, and the care they show him proves the feeling is mutual. From the moment we arrive, Atlas is excited and treated like family. Their attention to detail is unmatched, and he leaves looking amazing every time -- clean, fluffy, and clearly feeling great. This visit was extra special because they surprised him with a Seahawks bandana so he can cheer on his team in style for the Super Bowl. It's thoughtful touches like this that set Animology apart. They don't just groom pets -- they build relationships with them (and their humans). Even though we live hours away now, Animology will always be Atlas's groom team. read more

The service was great! We came in for my dogs birthday to get her a little cake and were so excited with the bakery options but when we got home and cut into it we realized we spent $20 on rice cakes slapped together with some frosting. I could have made a better cake out of kibble and peanut butter they would actually eat! They did not like it and it was a huge waste of $20. Animology is such a hidden gem! I originally came in about a year ago looking for something for my nearly 16-year-old ween (she's since gone to Rainbow Bridge unfortunately). While they didn't have what I needed that day, I could tell right away it was the kind of place I'd want to come back to. A few months later, we adopted what we think is a 1-2-year-old Dutch Shepherd/Black Lab mix, full of energy, obsessed with playing hard, and absolutely living for rolling in grass and dirt. Since she sleeps in our bed, keeping her clean is a must! That's when I discovered their amazing self-wash room and grooming services. Now we come in every other week for a nail trim and a good bath. She walks in like the Queen of the Swamp and struts out Queen of the Throw Pillows, smelling fresh, lookin' flawless, and ready to reclaim her spot on the bed. I love this place, we first started coming when they first opened and immediately had the best experience. I'd taken her for baths at another spot, but since the tubs were wooden they couldn't be fully disinfected so she got an infected eye. The tubs here are plastic so they can be fully cleaned, their setup makes perfect sense and everything is always organized and ready to go. The owners are so knowledgeable and good with dogs- especially ones that are typically more challenging. I have a Rottweiler and I hadn't had her nails professionally trimmed in over three years because we had a bad experience at another spot. The owners are so sweet to her and handle her energy well, she typically doesn't like men but she is so comfortable with the male owner. I recommend everyone with a pet comes here. read more

Came in for my dog's grooming appt and was immediately met by a woman that seemed really irritated that I came into the store. She informed me of their new check in policy, which I tried to follow but I never received a confirmation text (only email). After a couple of attempts to follow their system, she informed me to go sit in my car and she would let the groomer know I was here. Instead of waiting in my car because it's 90 degrees, I stood outside in front of the window in direct eyesight of them so they would see where I was. After 15 min I came in to check. The groomer and other woman said they had texted me 20 min ago and even walked around the store but didn't see me. I received no text and tried to explain that. These two women were so immediately agitated they seemed like they just wanted to argue. I said maybe it would help if you explained your new check in system when appts are booked since I just did it yesterday. The original woman snapped back that she already does that and she doesn't need me telling her how to do her job. Now, the groomer says, "I don't like how you're talking to me and I'm tempted to cancel your appt." I told her "I don't know what you're talking about, I haven't even talked to you. And yes, cancel my appt because you two are so angry I would never want you to touch my dog or anyone else's." Looks like this place is all of a sudden getting lots of one-star reviews. Hopefully the owner realizes their staff is doing a terrible job. And update - We did receive a text from this place before we even made it home that we're no longer welcome in their establishment. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Would not recommend for kitty grooming. When they make a mistake (like schedule you the wrong appointment, or fail to complete said appointment) they don't care to make things right, refund you, anything, the owner will tell you to find a new groomer instead. The employees have better customer service skills than the owner. I've schedule my kitty here before and each time has been worse than the last. If you love your kitty and want them to receive quality care, avoid this place for grooming. read more

My cat went to Animology about 4 times in the past year. She is a Persian and needs a nice fur cut . The cut was always a bit off but I was just happy to have it done. $95.00 was also a bit steep because I'm on disability but now it went up to $120.00 ! I have been bringing my older kitty here for grooming for the last year. Her last two appointments have been messed up with one resulting in an unnecessary vet visit. When I spoke to the owner about possible remedies for the problem I was treated like it was my fault, that I wasn't scheduling the right appointment type. She escalated the situation by not being willing to read what was in my kitty's file and her solution was to tell me to get a new groomer! Yikes! Terrible customer service read more

I was quite impressed. The first time I walked into the store. The employees were quite knowledgeable and very helpful! I've been back a few times getting the "pawdicure" for my girl However, the last time we had it done, we had Ryan and I was quite disappointed when he brought her out to me. He asked if her harness was on properly because he pulled her so I heard it came off the five months I've had her I've never had to pull her that hard , which I would understand because she was a little scared however, when I got home attempting to take her harness off, I literally had to cut her wonder walker off because he placed it on in properly. if you're a licensed professional and you promote selling the wonder walkers you would think they were trained on how to put harnesses on properly. It's the fact that my girl is a rescue and has been abused in the past it makes me wonder what's going on behind those doors. I'm just highly disappointed cause I really had great experiences prior to this last one. I sadly now have to find another place to do her nails my rescue pup has been through enough for first year in life prior to me having her I should be able to TRUST the people who are caring for her, even with a basic nail trim read more

I called to make my dog an appointment here to get his haircut. Explained everything I wanted to have done. They said no problem we can do that. Had my husband to drop him off when I went to pick up my dog they charged me $85 to cut his hair and clean his ears and do a full grooming when they brought him out, he looked completely butchered. His haircut was uneven. Hes chopped everywhere. It looked like my three year-old cut his hair when I expressed my dissatisfaction with his hair cut with the lady who worked there she got completely rude and disgruntle told me there was absolutely nothing she could do and basically dismissed me out of the store. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE don't bring your dogs here so terrible. read more

2 stars because I like the self wash, I come every couple weeks, it's convenient and keeps the mess of washing my dog out of my own house. I'll overlook a lot of things, like raggedy anne grooming/pet supply stores because in my teens and twenties I worked in similar ones. What I WONT overlook, again because I used to work in similar spots as a dog bather is how my dog was treated during a nail trim. I can do her nails myself, but why not spare myself the time and being the "bad guy" and get them done after I finished scrubbing her up. My dog is friendly as can be...doesn't love getting her nails done but puts up with it at home, and at the vet. She's never made a peep for shots, or vet exams, nail trims or anything similar . The young gal came out from the back to grab my puppy, and I offered up a jar of treats I was buying to help coax her in case she was being squirmy.. she replied "oh no I got it" She asked if I wanted a trim or a dremmel too. I said dremmel if she will let you and off they went. Behind closed doors where she wasn't visible. Red flag I know dogs can be buttheads away from their owners, but she's not new to this... The music was up pretty high, and my ears started to perk up at what sounded like screaming...I kept trying to hear what was going on until there was a break in the song and that's when I confirmed it. My dog was SCREAMING like I've never heard her do before. Ever. I asked the other groomer who was standing there nonchalantly if that was my dog and she said yes. Without any other explanation. I immediately told her "ok that's enough, no more" and had her go back to stop what was happening and get me my dog. The girl who took her originally came back up with my dog who was COWERING in her arms (super out of character for her) and again nonchalantly said "oh yeah no dremmel" and passed her off without a second glance. No S*** no dremmel!, because I demanded that whatever you were doing stopped! Normally we leave this place with my 11 month old puppy doing zoomies and happy as ever. Check the photo of how she cowered in the car, the whole truck ride home. I'll never go to this place again and make sure to warn friends and family not to either. These girls had zero compassion and only cared about rushing my dog through and roughly handling her enough to invoke that kind of screaming. Never again. read more

I've been here before made another grooming appointment for my cat. They did good work last time. However, this time they wanted my card on file first. I went through the process of putting my card on file and getting approved twice, only for their ghetto system to cancel the card twice. They then cancel my appointment less than 24 hours before the scheduled time over it, and expect me to just call and try to put my card on file again. That won't be happening. If I canceled the appointment less than 24 hours in advance, I'd be getting CHARGED, but they can just cancel on a whim over a stupid credit card issue without any repercussions? We have been bringing our dogs here for a couple years now and it's always a great experience! Scheduling a self wash is easy, they have everything you need, including big tubs, and they clean up after your done. Every employee is polite, helpful and always ready to assist if needed. They also have full grooming services and a great selection of treats, food and other accessories you need for your pets. We have 2 big dogs and they are always treated well when we bring them in and the atmosphere makes them relaxed. I highly recommend bringing your pets here for grooming services. The grooming skill was excellent for my adult American long-hair cat who gets very wooly! He looks fantastic, is clean, and seems pretty proud in his new "do". He had his second lion shave here (by Carnie) and looks great. No more licking a mouthful of fur when grooming or drinking! My trouble was that I was unable due disability to GET him there the last two tries...so they asked for full amount deposit. Now I have a cat carer who could arrive on time--no problem! To date Ive paid 2x95 for appts I was unable to keep! Thank heaven for my new carer ( who was referred by Animology!). Alls well that ends well. Grooming and care was terrific. I found Animology on a whim and BEYOND thankful that I did. From the moment you walk in, the staff make you feel welcome as well as always willing to help with anything you may need. When it comes to their grooming/groomers. The knowledge, care, and love that they give to our grandpup is something that is hard to find. The owners are hands on and always step in to either assist on getting our nervous pup calm enough to head back to his spa appointment or help their staff make our boy feel calm enough to give up his paw for his nail trim. My two cats got fleas from the vet so I made an appointment at animology to get them shaved and a flea bath. The soonest they could get me was on a Monday, which 5 days from the day I called. I didn't receive any confirmation or emails regarding the appointment after I scheduled. However, I show up to the appointment on Monday, and the groomer tells they can't groom my cats due to the fact that I've given them gabapentin to help keep them calm. They claim that it's part of the agreement email, something I never received. Why would they not make pet parents aware of this upon making the appointment!? The soonest they could reschedule was Friday. At this point, I have no idea how the flea situation is going to go, but I found the whole experience extremely unprofessional. First of all, it's ridiculous that I'm not able to give my pets medication to ease their anxiety that is prescribed by their vet! But secondly, if this is so important, they need to make it clear at the time of scheduling the appointment!! read more
