I just took my fluff in for a nail trim (now $15 bucks) and asked if they could do a paw shape and pad shave I got quoted what I thought was a total of $20 and turned out it was $35 after he was done. Not much of a paw trim at that total rippoff. Give me a break!!! A full bath & grooming including those 2 services would have been around $60. I'm a Senior working a minimum wage job. 2nd time they've tricked me. I'm DONE with these guys. I live right around the corner from them but now will happily drive right by them to take my lil' guy to someplace more honest. Counter person was very sweet & that's why they got 2 stars. Also, I've left 2 messages over the past couple of weeks trying to confirm they are still open as the daycare portion of their business is clearly closed. No call back. read more

Today was our dog's 1st visit and trial run. I'll leave an average review for today as she was there for 2 hours. Staff was great and friendly. We seen a video of our dog playing and it appeared she had fun. Hasn't been to a dog daycare in awhile so it was probably some adjusting. Our dog will be going back as we were happy with her stay. I took my dogs out to Capitol Lake to get some play and exercise. My yellow lab Huckleberry was overly excited because he hasn't been to a nice park in a while. What's funny is that he got so excited, he decides to jump in the lake and splash around a bit lol. Once Huck got out of the lake, he was soaking wet and smelled awful which bugged me because he just had a bath less than a week ago. So after some research, I found West Coast K9 and decided to give it a shot because I liked how they provide self service dog grooming. When we arrived at the shop, there were a few cars parked which made it seem like it's pretty busy. I looked in the shop and there was A LOT of stray fur spread out everywhere. My dogs loved it with all of the different smells though. I like how the cost is pretty affordable, about $20 for self service. I didn't really like how the strap for the grooming tub is very short, restraining the dog and adding a bit more stress on them. After about 15 minutes later, Huck was clean and smelling great! Only downside was that I now have fur all over me from the pet dryer and the other loose chunks spread around. But if my dogs get dirty and would rather do a quick cleanup, West Coast K9 might be the place to go. read more

Took my dog here for the first time today. Admittedly, I was wrong about the appointment time but they said they would take him for a bath but not a trim. Sounded good! They said they would call me when he was done. 7 hours go by... no call. So I reached out and they said "Oh yeah, he's done". I drove to get him and realized he was still damp! Which means they must have had him for about 5 hours before giving him a bath. Just not efficient and my poor guy was there for 7 hours for what should have taken 2 (at the most). And it still cost almost $70 read more

I asked that my dog be left longer on the top of her back. Wasn't done. Now her hair is short on her (previously fluffy) back and she looks like a rat clipped short everywhere. I think I will write it down next time for the groomer. read more

I have been a client of k9 fones rd olympia wa. Since 2016. I have had multiple groomers which I specifically stated I wanted the same one for my maltese. Today after paying 40.00 each full groom always. I was shocked with a 65.00 charge and no explanation prior .in fact michael confirmed it was 40.00 when scheduling the appt. As that was my account price My dogs appearance was that sgmhe didnt have a bath just a cut combout and blow. I am saddened. Her personal requests like anal glands, ears and toes not done either I wont be back. Shame on them. They lose 3 relatives of mine also as of today. read more

We've gone here 3 times now and have had a great experience each time! This was the first groomer we ever took our doodle to and they did a great puppy cut to help him get used to the groomers. The staff are always super helpful and kind and really listen to you. Our dog loves coming to the groomers which really tells you how well they handle the dogs too. Usually you guys are fantastic which is why I've never gone anywhere else in 4 years to get my dog groomed. This time was a disaster though. My dog is a West Highland Terrier and was supposed to be cut in that style for her head and tail but instead was cut short everywhere and barely even looks like my dog for holiday pictures. Very disappointing. Also got no bow or kerchief and she usually gets both. Worst experience I've ever had here and hope for better if we try again next time. read more

I took my 1/2 black lab 1/2 golden retriever (think pitch black golden retriever) in for a summer groom and haircut yesterday...she has been miserable in this heat. A gentleman came out to get her and explained different options/costs to me as I have never had a long haired dog before. I picked Callie up 4 hours later and she looked absolutely gorgeous and so much cooler. She was sooooo soft and smelled sooooo good too! My German Shepherd gets his bath once a week and West Coast K-9 is right around the corner from me. The staff are always super nice! I wish they had more wash stations, but everything is easy to use and they have the BEST dryer ever! I used to take him to a place downtown...but their dry blows cold air. That's not going to work for his double coat! $20 is expensive for a wash, but it's convenient and we always get in and out. They are very nicely located next to Mud Bay, so he gets to pick out a treat after his bath. ;) read more

Filthy, loud, understaffed, and overpriced. Had to clean hair out of the drain. Had to clean hair out of the brushes. Had to shake the towels out since there was still hair on them presumably after being washed (maybe not?). 1 person working at pickup time for doggie daycare with a line out the door. Literally the only reason this place is still in business is there's no competition. And even with no competition they still couldn't keep their other location open. I shudder to think of how bad things must be in the back area we can't see if this is how bad they are in the area in public view. The only positive is the employees are nice. I feel bad they have to work for such a horrible owner. :( read more

This place is WAY over priced. They had 4 people waiting with more coming in and only 1 girl if front to address everyone. I needed to get in and get out and it took much longer than necessary. There's a ton of large dogs in the daycare and they all just hang out by the fence where people park. I didn't see them playing around or fetching anything. They just bark, watch the car park and the owners come in and out. I used the self bathing area for my dog. They have nice warm water and provide everything you need. However I bring my own shampoo for my dog. The only thing I used was the water and it still cost $20. I don't believe it should cost so much to wash your own dog when all you're using is the water. They should charge separately for towels, dryer, shampoo, etc. The self wash in downtown Olympia at The Pet Works charges $15 and less if you bring in 2 dogs at once. I wouldn't ever go back. The girl was nice but too long for service, not worth the money when your not using everything they have, the daycare is not stimulating. There's nothing special for those kind of prices. read more

Went there with my service dog last week to self wash and get nails trimmed . The place smelled horrible. I asked the the groomer who was going trim my service dogs nails to keep her away from other dogs , because she gets nervous, when my dog came back she was in a choke strap and whimpering . The groomer had chocked my dog. It took every bit of restraint to keep me from jumping over the counter and chocking the groomer the same way she did my dog. And she did a shitty job on her nails . Brought our little dog in for a bath, facial groom, anal glands, private area trim, and nail trim on July 6th, 2020. This was his 3rd trip to this facility, the other 2 appointments took 2 hours. This appointment took 4 hours & when we picked up our dog, only the bath and nail trim had been done. His face was still hair & his back end areas were not trimmed, as I saw him on Thursday, 3 days after his visit to West Coast K9, drag his but along the ground, meaning his anal glands were still full. Truly poor service & am not sure I am going to go back to this facility. read more

I don't know what's happened since I first starting taking my dogs here. Michael used to work here and everything was fantastic! One day, he was gone and it felt like the whole place went to pot. I have a large dog and a small dog. Now they separate the two, even though I've asked them to leave them together. When I told them that it might keep me from renewing my packages, the girl said, "That's okay." lol I also had a problem with a change of my last name. I guess it was the manager to whom I was speaking. She said they couldn't simply change my last name, she said, "... just like you can't go into the DMV and tell them to change the last name on your license." I told her that's for a driver's license, this is doggie daycare. She was perfectly willing to take my money under my new name. Regardless, she said I had to complete all new contracts because it's "a legal thing." I hope they're not correct because ALL my IDs are under my new name. lol I won't renew my dogs' packages. There are plenty of other doggie daycares out there. read more

I went to get my dogs' nails trimmed. Since wearing a mask is now mandatory, I expected the employees to comply. I interacted with three employees, none of them wore a mask. When I asked why, one told me she had "medical condition". After I had asked my question, the male employee handed me one of my dogs and refused to trim their nails. I give it one star because they at least had the heat on. Used the self serve dog wash. No hot water. No towels. Rude staff. So when they ran out of hot water the staff person told me to come back in 40 minutes to finish up. Really? Let's see, would I go back? Probably not. I can do a backyard dog wash at home. Showed up at 4:35. Looking at sign on door that says "grooming, self wash and store close at 5pm". We were told that self wash closes at 4:30. So they can clean. No where does it say that. Update: there is a self wash dog place in downtown Olympia. The Pet Works. I definitely Recommend it over this place. read more

Took my dog in for a self wash. The place was dirty with hair all over place. The aprons were dirty and smelled nasty. The bathroom was full dog hair on the toilet seat and around the floor. It looked like it had never been cleaned. The bathroom sink was also full of dog hair. Needless to say, I did not use the restroom. The guy who was in charge of the Daycare yelled at me and was very rude. I was waiting by the doggie ramp for my dog and of course the dogs came out to the ramp. He yelled at me to get away from the fence. There is no sign posted anywhere on the fence that you are not allowed to stand by the fence. He could have been more professional of informing me. I will probably not return to this location. read more

This review is for K9 Clubhouse in Lacey on Martin Way. I have been doing self wash here for years. The best experience was the PREVIOUS owner who retired I think. It has gone downhill since the new ownership. I've been okay with it, but after today I'm not so sure i'm going back. This place is DISGUSTING. There is hair EVERYWHERE with NO attempt to even try and clean it up. They need more help or something. read more

Our German Shepard sheds like crazy, but when we drop off him and our Chocolate Lab they come home smelling so good, looking cooler and their coats are so beautiful and clean. West Coast K9 is the best groomer I have been to. I have a large Siberian Husky who absolutely hate to take a bath and when I retrieve him he is so clean, brushed and he looks marvelous!!! I also have a Australian Shepard who is quite a little poker and his hair grows out of control. But after being to K9 he looks like a brand new pup. I was extremely disappointed with the service today. I have brought my Shih Tzu to this business for years but this ends today. I will never bring her to be rushed through an "Express Appointment" again.. A Very Young girl I called at front desk on 8.19.20, did not know her job, the grooming rules, or of new changes/billing /times etc. (training is a good thing).....I said wonderful Thank you! See ya tomorrow. (as I am a very nice person.. :O).....) Nothing of $$increase, time changes, told to me prior to my lil dogs pick up. She changed my set appointment 3 times during 1 phone call. (this was not the issue... :O)...) I informed her what the groomer had asked of me at the last visit. ....To allow My dog to have a longer appointment as my dog gets anxiety. So, I did.. but I see now...this was not taken into account. This girl, put my dog in a express appointment without my knowledge and it cost much more.. NOT acceptable. Inform the customer please. People watch for hidden fees!. I went to pick up my lil girl and the staff.. (tall dark) said she would NOT GET my dog until I paid. #2 NOT ACCEPTABLE!.. I told her I would not pay until I could inspect and calm down my dog.. I got the dog.. paid my blown up bill, left a professional hand written not to the manager, lets see If I get a call back.. Not holding my breath. Funny thing is.. I have the love FOR MY PETS and the $$$$ to pay top dollar for extras and more time etc.. If I were given the choice. I will never go back. read more

I brought my dog in today for a self wash and as we were walking out of the front door, a staff member yelled at me to keep my dog away from the dog run. The dog run is directly next to the front door, where else am I to take my dog in order to get to my car? My dog was very well-behaved. He did not bark or growl at any of the dogs in the dog run. I found his remark extremely unwarranted and rude. Service was great; however, I'm extremely upset that I was yelled at for something that I had no control over. If you don't want dogs walking next to the dog run, DON'T PUT THE FRONT DOOR NEXT TO THE DOG RUN! We were regulars here but I will not be returning. read more
