I Love This Place. I like to take my pups here to have their nails clipped. I've been going here awhile now. Long enough, to where a couple of my fur pups have crossed the rainbow bridge, and new pups have been rescued, and added to the family. They have always been so welcoming, professional and great with all of my pups. Honestly not impressed. I spent $70 for a bath, nail trim and deshedding treatment and my dog was shedding worse when we left. I could tell she was bathed and blow dried but she was not brushed at all. I usually bath, blow dry and brush her myself so I know for a fact she wasn't brushed. I normally only take her to get her nails trimmed and buffed at a groomers but I'm 37 weeks pregnant and am unable to do the bathing right now. I just had to spend 30 minutes brushing her because it was that bad. Really disappointed truthfully and I won't be back. read more

My experience with Creda at Laurel's Pet Grooming was great! I am fostering a sweet little 6 month old Chi-Min-Pin mix and he was meeting a potential adopter the next day and needed a bath before his meet & greet. Creda was able to fit him in at the last minute (near the end of the day on a Saturday, thank you Creda!). She was very kind and loving with him (he's a bit shy with new people), and she had him all clean, dry and warm (and cleaned his dirty ears) in 45 minutes, and the price was very reasonable! When I picked him up he seemed very happy and relaxed, and did not seem at all traumatized or upset by being bathed by a stranger, so I feel confident that she treated him kindly and gently during his bath and ear cleaning. It is very difficult to find a groomer who will do cats. I'm not asking for much, just a brush-out and a nail trim (my cat is a shorthair but I can't get within 10 feet of her with a brush). I had heard bad things about commercial groomers (like Petco and Petsmart) and so I wanted a small (quiet ha ha) business. I found Laurel through a friend of a friend. When I walked through the door, I was immediately shocked by what appeared to be an unsanitary environment and a beagle who would not stop screaming at the top of its lungs. I mean screaming, and I was there for about an hour because Laurel was "running behind". Also other dogs barking. I was upset because I did not want my cat to be in such a stressful, loud environment. No animal should. I arrived right on time. She groomed one dog and gave another a bath before she got to my cat. I also kept a VERY close watch to make sure she sanitized the table and grooming equipment and hands properly before she touched my cat. The good news: My cat behaved perfectly! Absolutely perfectly. She didn't give Laurel any trouble and sat there calmly as Laurel brushed out a hair pile the size of an Egyptian pyramid. I will not recommend Laurel to anyone. read more

Not the best. Showed up for my appointment on time. No one was there. I waited a few minutes before a woman pulled up smoking and told me to wait in my car even longer until she had the store set up. So I waited until she flipped the open sign. Don't be fooled by the website, you won't see Laurel it is an assistant that does it all. I got the call that my dog was ready and when I walked in, the groomer was yelling and rough handling a cat who was having a very hard time being groomed (understandably). I waited about 10 minutes until she helped me. Cost was very high...and to be honest...petsmart in Lacey provided better grooming service for way less. read more

We took our two cats there to be groomed. One long hair that we wanted trimmed and a short hair that we wanted bathed, we tried to do it once ourselves but it didn't turn out well. The woman grooming our cats told us it would be around three hours before they were done, I felt like that was kind of a long time. I was pleased with the outcome of the long haired's trim and I was surprised that she was able to bathe the short haired one without some claw marks. I have taken my wirehaired dachshund to Laurel since he was a pup. I have developed some arthritis in a couple of fingers, which lock up when I'm using a stripping knife/comb. Few groomers know how to STRIP hair on the wiry breeds. I think they often cheat and use clippers & scissors, which results in the hair growing back in softer and finer. Ok if you have a pet, but not if you have a show dog. Laurel is a professional - even though her shop may look messy at times. Quite honestly, I should have walked out and taken Izzy elsewhere once I walked in. Not impressed. They kept Izzy from 11 am (her appt time) until 4 pm, and clearly didn't give her any water. She came home and drank her entire bowl. Her demeanor was completely off... no tail wags, she was lethargic and just sad. I am quite sure they kept her in that crate in the entry area for hours. I took my dog in for a nail trim. She did accomadate him without an appt. which I appreciated, however she was grooming a standard poodle and it looked like a hatchet job. While my dog waited, she asked me to put him in one of the crates near the door and when I picked him up, he smelled so horrible, I had to open the car windows and then give him a bath myself at home. We were here visiting family and our pitbull pup needed a refresher after our road trip. We called multiple locations before we could find someplace to take in our pup, finally we found Laurel. Laurel was very kind and professional. She told us it would take up to 30-60 mins and she'll give us a call when he's ready. My husband and I went for gas, carwash, and a coffee. He was ready after our errand run, convenient!! I Highly recommend Laurel, her dogs in the background were very well behaved sitting on the couch, I did not even notice them until my husband pointed them out. Moved to Lacey and had to find a new groomer. Tried one and they hurt my dog and damaged anal glands so tried this one today. My dog is a short hair mini Dashaund. They did ok all they had to do was bathe nails and anal glands and the job was adequate but when I went to pay she says $50! I just about fainted I have never paid more than $25 in the last ten years! Had to pay it and couldn't argue because I hadn't asked the price NEVER expecting it would be over $25. Looks like I'll be finding another groomer here as $50 was totally ridiculous! read more

Honestly one of the worst groomers I've been to. When I came to drop my Schnauzer off he made it pretty clear he did not want to go inside, and against my better judgement I made him. This place was gross, dirty, dark, stinky, hair everywhere, it was just gross. I came back when they told me and when I arrived there was a small black Pekingese? Being groomed and screaming it's head off as she continued to brush his ears, yelling at her "stop it doesn't hurt that bad you're just being sensitive" I brushed it off as maybe this dog was just being dramatic until she brought me my dog and commented he was a little sensitive with his ears....he's NEVER been sensitive about her ears she must of been entirely too rough with him, but his cut seemed decent, nothing impressive but not the worst. Then when I got him home I realized he had dried blood up both his sides because he had been nicked over and over and over again. The lady is very lucky their salon was too dark to see this because I would of lost it. I would NEVER RECOMMEND this place to anyone. read more

We just adopted a cairn terrier with hair so long, he looked like a skye terrier. After hunting on the Internet, I found only one groomer in Olympia-Lacey who claimed to specialize in terriers. I really made the right choice by choosing Laurel. She spent at least 15 minutes on the phone with me before the appointment, advising me on my options with a cairn. Then she worked in my dog right away for an impromptu appointment that morning! My little guy's cut made him look like a respectable Cairn. We're so happy with his cut. Laurel even taught me how to hand strip him myself, but she also threw in a ton of hand stripping at no extra charge. I couldn't be happier. Excellent, friendly service. Don't believe the comment from the person that says Laurel doesn't do the cuts. I'm glad I found her, and I plan to use her for all my Cairn's grooming. read more

I was pleased to find a groomer who would do cats. I brought the cat in the next morning and was promised a time frame for pickup. When I walked in there were dogs all over. And the smell wasnt too pleasant. The cut for my dog wasn't too bad but over time I saw she missed some spots. His nails were jagged from being cut bad and not to mention it took 4 HOURS ! my dog was in a kennel for 4 hours with no water or potty break. When I walked in to pick him up she was yelling at a different dog who was obviously not liking the way he was being treated on the grooming table but her attitude quickly changed when she saw me and my husband standing there. The price was way high and I could have got better service at a pet smart. read more

The first time I went in with my two dogs I had a great experience. The dogs were clean and even smelled great. (Sometimes they come out smelling like a kennel) I was happy with the cuts too, did everything just as I had asked. The second time I must have gotten someone new. The cut was not at all what I wanted and on inspection of my dogs, both had cuts on their skin. My little one was so burned like razor burn on his tummy and itched for days. I don't like the location and feel it's too busy of an area to be safe. I will not be returning! read more
