Larry really took his customer service to the next level and I was extremely comforted knowing I was in good hands. He treated me like his own daughter and I really needed that. He had his master mechanic look over the car for me and they ended up saving me about 5,000 of repairs if I had bought this car (just shy of 9K including the car). Once again the guy off of CL said had "absolutely no problems." And they ended up giving me a ride home:) Best 100 dollars I've spent. Master mechanic was awesome, Daniel was awesome, Larry was awesome. I will definitely be making another visit soon.

No idea if this was bad installation or defective product, but multiple tires failed. Due to personal circumstances, the follow up service was made to the Parsippany NJ location. They failed to listen and did not take the return visit seriously. This resulted in a failed service visit and forced an escalation before the correct action was taken. This took two days and many phone calls. My experience is that the customer service is a joke. The process is bad. Management do not return phone calls. They drag out resolutions hoping customers just go away. And requests for satisfaction are ignored. I do not recommend Pep Boys brand - it is only the commercials, they do not provide the customer service they suggest. If you go to this location, cross your fingers. I recommend trying somewhere else.

My most recent experience - last week - was I walked into the store - as I so often do - in need of some advice / expertise. There was a friendly young man, Zach. I asked him a somewhat technical question about a piece of equipment I wanted to buy. There were several types at a range of prices. Zach led me - with perfect clarity to the right piece at the right price. Then explained to me exactly how to use it. I walked out - as I always do from this great store - with a COMPLETE solution. Zach is a young superstar on the rise. Great attitude. Knowledgeable. Provides above and beyond service. his extra effort didn't result in any immediate dollars going into the store's daily revenue. But it solidified in my heart and mind why O'Reilly's is my ONLY go to store in their specialty. I recommend to O'Reilly's Auto Trader Corporate. Sneak in a video camera and train it on Zach on any day he works there. You could use that as an absolute role model for training others. They had a ton to choose from, and I ended up picking a Pioneer that resembled my old head unit. The CD player outlived my Grand Am and I pulled it out before calling...GUESS WHO?...to come junk my old Pontiac. After my Pontiac died, I drove around my mom's old yellow Chevy Astro van until that died. I bought a VW Passat and called...GUESS WHO?...to junk the Astro van. Drove my VW Passat for 4.5 years and when it was time to trade it in for a new car, I couldn't find the title. Since the Passat had a million and a half things wrong with it, I called...REALLY, YOU'LL NEVER GUESS WHO!...to come junk it. They asked me if I wanted to know how much $$$ they'd give me for the Passat, but I said, "Nope, IDGAF, just come lug it away!" I'd already gotten a quote from another company for $250 but since Elm City is a mile from my house, I had them do it instead. When they came to haul my Passat away, I was expecting $200 or so but they gave me $300 instead. I'll take it! Someday I may actually be able to trade a car in when buying a new one, but until then, I've got Elm City Auto Wrecking!

One issue was addressed, after being told the truck was all set and ready for pick up. Went in to find out the truck was half done, after a long commute. Called the next day to see if anything could be done(I have the pre paid service package) so I didn't want money and or anything back, just some good old fashioned customer service and or a SORRY. Got nothing from the service department (Antonio) But told I was wrong. And it was "on me" for not doing something. After I held a conversation saying I wanted my 3 issues addressed. Just wanted the oil changed and issue looked at. Not a free truck. Even trying to chat with a manager is impossible. So many better Chevy dealer in this state, Hamden Chevy is NOT one.
