I stopped coming here for a bit because pandemic stress/I needed the ability to schedule…read moreappointments online and they were still phone only. Well, after several misfires I decided to go back to where I know people will not rip me off and came back. They now have an online appointment request form which is pretty easy to navigate and I got my request approved quickly, which isn't an easy feat as they are always busy. They still offer the same amenities (coffee, hand sanitizer) and touchpads/keyless drop off for COVID-19 compliance. This time I didn't tell them I go to local med school and they still treated me fairly, which I appreciated. There was a mix up at the front desk because there were two similar cars, one needed filters and tires replaced and I, knowing from my maintenance schedule, needed my rear brakes and oil filter replaced (among other things but those were the big ones). After telling me I didn't need both cabin and oil filters replaced, one of the workers came back and told me I did, by *bringing my air filters to me in the lobby where other patrons were waiting*, telling me "it's time to be replaced". It was weird because it felt like he was shaming me for not maintaining my car after someone else had a conversation with me about not needing that part fixed. I told him that I will do whatever I need to do in order to get my car running well, but told him about the mix up conversation I had and he was pretty rude to me about it. Ultimately, I paid for all the recommended repairs here even though I was quoted cheaper elsewhere because I like John, since I first met them, him and his team have always been kind and honest with me and I want to support local businesses. However, I was just, more than anything, really hurt by what happened. Maybe they just have a lot of customers being very rude/reactionary when it comes to servicing, but that's not me and it never has been. I know I haven't been here in two years but I still recommend JP to everyone who asks for a quality shop. I honestly still recommend JP, but I will probably talk to Paul or Art next time. Pros: Honest shop, off the highway, takes payment over the phone, covid compliance Cons: Gets swamped quickly, may take a while to get your appointment/finish repairs. The earlier the better, especially if they need to get parts.

Hands down the worst shop I've ever dealt with. I went in to get ONE tire sensor replaced and they…read morekept my car for 8 hrs. When I finally got it back, not only did the new sensor not work, but all four sensors were not responding, my rim was damaged, and the tire they worked on had a slice in the sidewall. When I called them out, they immediately tried to flip it on me, saying I "must've hit a curb." On top of that, there was grease around the cut and the tech even admitted they patched the sidewall--which is ILLEGAL and flat-out dangerous. No legit shop would ever do that unless they were trying to cover up their own mistake. Their response? "We'll call our rim guy." Well the rim guy said it wasn't repairable, and instead of owning up, they told me they weren't replacing a thing. So now I'm stuck dropping $700 on a new rim and tire that they refuse to take responsibility for. The owner Tony was rude, arrogant, and tried to bully me into thinking they "did me a favor" by patching the sidewall. A favor?? If I didn't know better about cars I could have been put in a dangerous situation. This place is a joke. Dishonest, careless, and dangerous. Don't trust them with your car. Ever.

Outstanding, Honest Service!…read more I can't say enough good things about A-1 Complete Auto Care in Guilford! I recently brought my car to Town Fair Tire in Wallingford for a slow leak in my front passenger side tire. They told me there had been a plug that came out and the tire couldn't be repaired. Not only had I never had a plug in that tire, but they also insisted I needed a brand new tire--and even suggested replacing all four, despite my car only having 26,000 miles. Wanting a second opinion, I brought my car to A-1 Complete Auto Care. They quickly identified the real issue: a nail in the tire. They confirmed there had been no previous plug and were able to patch the leak with no problem. Their honesty, professionalism, and straightforward service completely blew me away. Instead of trying to upsell me on tires I didn't need, they provided a simple, effective, and affordable fix. I couldn't be more grateful--and A-1 has absolutely earned my trust and future business!
