    Where the carpeting is coming loose and rippling in a hallway

    I have never written a bad review before. However, it is warranted at this time. Please review my pictures - they will show you everything. I saved for a long time for this carpeting. It was "Pet" friendly carpeting, expensive, however I wanted to get a Dog after my Mother passed away as I took care of her for 10 years and I would now have the time to take care of a Dog, and wanted a companion. The day of the installation went very wrong. The carpet was not stretched properly, there were ripples in some areas, and the corners were coming up in places. Afterward, I contacted the owner, Monte, and after much discussion he finally agreed and sent another installer. This installer fixed some of the problems, however there were still some issues. I explained I was nervous that other issues would come up as the carpet was walked on, as I still saw some laxity in places. Monte's exact words to me were "live with the carpeting, and if other issues come up, I will send someone to address the areas." More rippling began to build over time. I always thought that Monte would come and take care of it, so I gave it some time and thought I would take care of all issues in one visit, and I was mourning the loss of my Mother and needed time to grieve. The carpeting was installed less than two years ago. I just contacted Monte, sent him the pictures fully expecting he would send someone and he told me "you had one year warranty and it expired." He will not help me. Please look closely at the pictures and rippling. This should not happen less than two years after installation. It was a rush job requiring initial repairs, and then "assuring" me he would come make additional repairs if needed. Please consider not doing business at Monte's store if you can help it. I would not want you to take the chance of something like this happening to you.

I received an immediate canned response that clearly wasn't based on anything I wrote or the photo I submitted. It even included a note about ignoring outreach from other companies. The next message invited me to call Joshua Diaz-Blanks, so I did. My call went to voicemail, I left a message, and I never heard back despite calling during their posted business hours on Saturday. Before they closed on Saturday, I texted Joshua. His response was that his grandmother was in the hospital and might not make it. I was sympathetic, offered prayers, and told him we could reconnect Monday or later if he needed more time. Then nothing. No follow-up, no update, no communication at all. On Monday, I walked into Banner Carpets on Artesia instead and purchased what I needed. It was a small $1,300 job, but small jobs add up and reliable service matters. This was handled very poorly, Joshua. I truly hope your grandmother recovers, and if her time is up, I wish her peace. But using a family emergency to excuse basic lack of communication is not professionalism. At some point, adulting is tough, but following through on what you promise is part of running a business. Amateur experience and extremely off-putting. One star Disclaimer: Do not call, text, email, or message me on Yelp regarding this review. I do not want further contact from this business. FOLLOW UP: Joshua texted me to discuss, then went to ChatGPT to craft a garbage response. You decide, I'm a liar and my review is nonsense? So disrespectful to me... 0 stars.

The staff was very personable and professional and welcoming. A young salesperson by the name of Maggie, helped us by showing innumerable samples. Their stock of available samples was impressive. We were not hurried, and she kept pulling large samples and when we rejected the offering, she put them back. I should say that all this was done with her knowing that the product that we were going to buy was for a water damaged floor in the state of Wisconsin. The product would be purchased in a flooring store in Eau Claire, WI. Nonetheless, she gave us her time, energy, and expertise to make our selection, write down the product number and contact our source in Wisconsin.

I set up an appointment for an estimate. Stacie came out bringing with her some alternate carpet samples even though we already narrowed down what we wanted. Stacie had great patience in explaining floor options and answering all my detailed questions without us ever feeling pressured for time. She explained carpet padding and what we might expect with general preparation for installation including furniture relocating. On installation day Sergio arrived promptly at 9 am as promised. He was very organized and very considerate of setting up for this second floor installation. He began by cutting out the old carpet which was not the dusty mess I thought it would be thanks to his consideration. I would recommend a good vacuuming of the old carpet before this process begins in any case however. Our existing wood subfloor had some squeaky boards that over the years can be expected. I blue taped the ceiling to identify noisy boards, but Sergio went beyond that and screwed down a majority of the floor boards in the room. This was very impressive as it secured the whole room and I now have a floor that should stay quiet for some time. I supplied new updated baseboards and contracted Carpet Spectrum to cut and install them. Hint - if you go this route consider painting the baseboards prior to installation. I was delighted as the installer used thin nails on the baseboards (to minimize hole size damage) and did an outstanding finishing job by filling all gaps and holes with chalk. He cleaned up the work area nicely afterwards. Carpet Spectrum is located at 1050 Aviation Blvd in Hermosa Beach. We are very happy with how we were treated and of course with the end result. The whole process was much less painful than anticipated. Everyone at Carpet Spectrum is highly experienced and in my opinion there is no better choice in the South Bay than Carpet Spectrum. You will be happy with their work!
