History
Established in 2017.
Mario Fernandez, owner, has been in the flooring business since 2006. He has mastered the skills of a hardwood floor installer from his boss, Bruce Reid, in Accents & Essentials. As Bruce was getting ready to retire, Mario was trained in overlooking the entire flooring project from beginning to end. Mario also started working on his own flooring projects for the past several years, and in 2017, after Bruce has officially retired, Mario has branched off on his own and started his company, FZ Ogawa Flooring, with his wife Yuri Ogawa in the South Bay area.
Meet the Business Owner: Mario F.
Mario Fernandez, born and raised in Oaxaca, Mexico, came to the United States in 1999, searching for his American Dream. From the day he stepped foot in the US, he worked very hard in learning English, the American culture, and worked long hours trying to support his family in Mexico. While he was working as a server at a Japanese restaurant, he meets Bruce Reid, a highly experienced hardwood floors specialist, who often ate at the restaurant that Mario was working at. When the restaurant closed in 2006, Bruce willingly asked Mario to work for him, taking in the fact that Mario was a hard worker with a very approachable and friendly personality, and with great dedication in giving exceptional customer service. Over the years, Mario has learned and mastered the art of craftsmanship in the hardwood floors industry from Bruce. He is married to his wife, Yuri Ogawa, who is now supporting him with the Japanese service with the flooring business.
