We went to Carpet Spectrum at 2212 W. Lomita Blvd in Lomita, CA. We needed to see vinyl flooring samples to be installed in a large basement. The staff was very personable and professional and welcoming. A young salesperson by the name of Maggie, helped us by showing innumerable samples. Their stock of available samples was impressive. We were not hurried, and she kept pulling large samples and when we rejected the offering, she put them back. I should say that all this was done with her knowing that the product that we were going to buy was for a water damaged floor in the state of Wisconsin. The product would be purchased in a flooring store in Eau Claire, WI. We decided to replace existing carpet in the bedroom so we called Carpet Spectrum in Hermosa Beach. Becky was very pleasant and very professional on the phone and even recalled my name from installation work I had done some 15 years ago. I set up an appointment for an estimate. Stacie came out bringing with her some alternate carpet samples even though we already narrowed down what we wanted. Stacie had great patience in explaining floor options and answering all my detailed questions without us ever feeling pressured for time. She explained carpet padding and what we might expect with general preparation for installation including furniture relocating. On installation day Sergio arrived promptly at 9 am as promised. He was very organized and very considerate of setting up for this second floor installation. He began by cutting out the old carpet which was not the dusty mess I thought it would be thanks to his consideration. I would recommend a good vacuuming of the old carpet before this process begins in any case however. Our existing wood subfloor had some squeaky boards that over the years can be expected. I blue taped the ceiling to identify noisy boards, but Sergio went beyond that and screwed down a majority of the floor boards in the room. This was very impressive as it secured the whole room and I now have a floor that should stay quiet for some time. I supplied new updated baseboards and contracted Carpet Spectrum to cut and install them. Hint - if you go this route consider painting the baseboards prior to installation. I was delighted as the installer used thin nails on the baseboards (to minimize hole size damage) and did an outstanding finishing job by filling all gaps and holes with chalk. He cleaned up the work area nicely afterwards. Carpet Spectrum is located at 1050 Aviation Blvd in Hermosa Beach. We are very happy with how we were treated and of course with the end result. The whole process was much less painful than anticipated. Everyone at Carpet Spectrum is highly experienced and in my opinion there is no better choice in the South Bay than Carpet Spectrum. We started our laminate flooring project with "another company" but they were not responsive. So we discovered Carpet Spectrum in our neighborhood and gave them a try. In a matter of a day Stacie was out to visit and take measurements and in another day we received her quote. We went with them because of their timeliness and attention to detail. When they arrived on installation day, they were on time and really cared about taking care of our home while they preped the three bathrooms and kitchen and laundry room for the flooring. Both the flooring installer and the carpet repairer were FANTASTIC. Talk about attention to detail - they were off the charts. I highly recommend them for all your flooring and carpet needs. Unfortunately, this is about their service. Their rep at Costco was wonderful. She encouraged me to set up an appt to get an estimate. This same rep had great ideas about flooring, so I took her up on the offer to schedule an appt. I live in an apt on a busy street. There was street cleaning on the day the sales person, Jean, arrived. Jean phoned that she was here but immediately said, "I can't bring all my samples up, park & cross the busy street. I'm going to have to cancel. Sorry. Good luck." (NO exaggeration!) WOW! I understood that it is a busy street. I even said she didn't have to take all her samples. The fact that she didn't care to remedy the situation or offer to reschedule or even to park and come in to do measurements at least...got me frustrated, especially after taking time out from work to meet her. This was a huge disappointment. My good luck is that I now have the opportunity to take my business to someone that cares. read more

I stopped in this little store front just to get ideas, but they "wow-ed" me! The ladies working there were very helpful and informative. They have bins of samples you can "check out" like library books, and for small lots that they already have in warehouse, there's a special price. I think their store in Lomita is a bigger one, but the Hermosa happens to be the closest carpet store to my house, and I lucked out! Everyone I dealt with was beyond competent, very personable, efficient and thorough. I am very happy with my purchase and installation. Can't imagine a better experience. read more

Worked with them for our new hard surface floors and carpets. Becky @ the Hermosa Beach locations was fantastic in showing us several options for the hard surfaces. She actually moved us towards a less expensive hard surface for our kitchen and hallways given the layout and children in the house. Jason was the estimator for both hard and carpet surfaces. He oversaw the installation as well. His attention to detail was tremendous. He was crystal clear about what needed to happen to make the install work, asked tons of questions about details that we didn't think of and clearly communicated anything that had potential cost implications before we made a decision. Installers were more than professional and did a wonderful job. They touched up small detail areas we assumed would simply be left alone. They were not the cheapest option we received and a little higher than the middle. But there were 0 hidden costs, the customer service was top notch and they made you want to work with them. Mike from Carpet Spectrum spent A LOT of time with me, working out a solution within my budget to purchase high quality StainMaster carpeting and explained the difference in manufacturing of the carpets for durability, stain resistance, and also the options for pet pads to protect the carpet and padding, as I have dogs. The installers showed up on time, were very courteous and cleaned up all the trimmings when they left. Trust is a big issue and hard to come by. These folks are very honest, helpful and trustworthy and I would feel comfortable recommending them to anyone. Don't go there. There is a definite visible seam going across the room, left to right about 4 feet from the far wall. Need I say more? We had carpet installed in the front room. There is a seam. They wont do anything about it. $ 1611.20 Jason came out and told me that it was the lighting, thats why I saw a seam. That it is a "good seam. Whenever two pieces of material meet you will be able to see where they meet." That when the carpet is installed there is a slight "bowing" at the seam. The "bowing" will go down over time with people walking on the carpet. He offered me to have the installer "Sergio" come out to either trim the carpet where it was raised or use a carpet roller(about 4" across). Sergio came out, said it was a good seam, rolled the carpet. THEN WHY DO I SEE A SEAM? I wasn't at the install, so I didn't know where the seam was put. I've never had any problems with a seam or any carpet installed at my houses. I haven't known, or looked closely, for any seam. One installer put it right down the center of the room and I didn't know it was there until the carpet was removed. So, I was surprised when I noticed a line running across the floor. That didn't go away. I was equally surprised when they didn't do anything about it. read more

I looked at several stores for carpet and flooring before my neighbor recommended Carpet Spectrum. (Because the installers are so skilled )So glad I did. Becky at the store was great and Stacie knows her stuff and was able to help me choose the carpet and woodlike floor I needed. The installation is the other best reason to choose them. Paul was in my home for 2 weeks prepping and laying my new floor, plank by plank. He was a meticulous artist and did an amazing job. The carpet installers were fast and efficient. All of the workers who came here were tidy and respectful and thoroughly cleaned each day before leaving. It was a fabulous experience, even though my house was in chaos for weeks. I will have them back to redo the carpets in my bedrooms soon. Cannot praise them enough. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Carpet Spectrum. Peggy from the Lomita location came out initially and discussed options and showed me samples. Then she hand delivered the swatches in the next day or two so I could make an educated decision. She also explained that they had a location in Hermosa right up the street from me where I could go and drop off the swatches. While I was in that location Becky was so nice and I further asked her about a few questions I had on the selection I thought I was going to go with. She is very knowledgeable and showed my husband and I a few more samples. Turns out I changed my mind and went with different carpet selection then originally picked. Becky made sure Peggy was in the loop with the new selection - we took home the new samples, picked the color and then set an instalation date. Last week my carpet was installed and I just love it!!!! The installers were very professional, cleaned up after cutting the carpet and lying it down, and were done with the instalation in about 6 hours. Oh and the most impressive service I thought was that I was told they would be at my house between 9am and 10am and at 9:01 my doorbell rang.
