The carpet in my Mom's house was at least thirty years old to start with, but six years of pet stains, coffee spills and who knows what else had taken their toll. It's time to sell the house, and we know whoever buys will replace the carpet, but we wanted it to look decent for photos and showings. So I looked on yelp, and called the first highly rated companies to get bids and schedule. The owner of Carpet Masters came out the next day and inspected the mess and gave me a very good price. We had a few scheduling conflicts, but after I got the expensive competitive bids, I got over the conflicts and booked Carpet Masters. The carpet turned out better than I ever expected! We had Carpet Masters come clean our carpets a few weeks ago to get our home ready to hand over to our buyers. Had three of four bedrooms to clean, plus a large living space. Figured the carpet was original to the mid 90s home. Dogs are potty-trained, but there have been some accidents. Plus two very young kids in the home. So needless to say, I made them earn their money. He did a great job! Carpets looked so much better and the guy made sure to work hard on the soiled areas that were being more difficult. I had already decided that my old bedroom carpet would have to be replaced... Four grandchildren, six large dogs over the past ten years, and now two puppies! It was so awful that I was embarrassed to have anyone see the room and bathroom, but couldn't decide on what new carpet to buy. So in a fit of desperation, I decided to have it cleaned while I was trying to make the new carpet decision! I used their services three times for my rental properties. The first time I used them the job came out good so I tried them on my next job. I was in a hurry so I paid him before he did the job and when I returned the carpet still showed the same soiling in the traffic areas as before he cleaned it. The new tenants were in a hurry to move in so they wanted it as it was. From my experience those areas would have come up if his process was better. The last time I used them I stayed longer to explain how I wanted the carpet cleaned and showed him a blue stain in the master bedroom that I needed removed or the carpet repaired. He said he would take care of it. When I came back to check the job the carpet was barely touched. The blue stain was still there. I called him and complained about the quality of the work and he told me he would return with his scrubber and go over the carpet again. He did and when I checked the job it was only marginally better and the blue stain was still there and no repair was attempted. Again the tenants needed to move in so they took it as it was. After a couple of days the new tenant contacted me and asked if I could come by and look at the carpet. The tenant had used a small Rug Doctor machine and got the blue stain out and got the traffic pattern out. He showed me a 5 gallon bucket of dark grey water that he emptied out if his machine. I've been in the business of real estate for 25 years and I do not recommend this company. read more
