To Whom It May Concern:…read more This is a forewarning if you are looking to replace and/or repair a roof, fencing, gutters, or any contracting job in the McLennan County area. We hired JAC Roofing and Exteriors in Hewitt to replace our roof that was damaged by hail. They came recommended by my insurance company representative. We have several reasons as to why we would never allow them to enter onto our property again, nor would we recommend them to our worst enemy. The last item we requested they fix is the disconnected vent to our gas water heater that was left disconnected along with ceiling damage by them. We contacted JAC and sent photos notifying them of the damaged ceiling and disconnected vent - no response from JAC which is what we've learned to expect from them. We don't want to write a book but the many lies they told were so compounded it was ridiculous and would take far too long to list them all. If they won't give you an itemized bid up front, run! All work is done utilizing outside contractors with little or no supervision by JAC, they only act in the capacity of middlemen, they do nothing hands on. (I believed I was hiring a roofer, not someone who would hire a different roofer of their choosing and at my expense) I would very strongly suggest that if you are considering hiring this crew who use Colorado, not Texas paperwork, please contact the following agencies for your personal safety: Texas State Insurance Commissioner's Complaints, The Roofing Licensing Enforcement Center, (they are not licensed), the RCAT - Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (they are not a member), the Hewitt Chamber of Commerce, Waco Chamber of Commerce, BBB and Yelp. There are several other and I'm sure more reputable roofing companies out there. I would highly recommend you do your homework, contact all available agencies, and ask for local recommendations prior to hiring any one of them. They should have sent someone out to the repair the condition in which they left our home - we had to take care of it ourselves, on top of all other headaches they provided us.

AmeTex had the shingles delivered to the property and placed directly on the top of the building, so that it was easy for the crew to get up there and do the work in a timely manner. Gus was respectful, his men did a fine job, and he communicated clearly. He sent a receipt even before I requested it for insurance purposes! Even though I am a property owner from out of town, and they could have taken advantage of this, they really did a good job for me. They busted holes in my wall while replacing the flooring that has never been fixed. When cutting holes in the ceiling to replace lighting, they cut the hole to big and even after trimming out the light, you can still see the holes. The CEO has refused to meet with us about these problems or finishing the work that the insurance paid to have done, yet he had no problem cashing all the checks. I have tried so many times to give these people the benifit of the doubt that they would be truthful and do what they were paid to do, but this is rediculous.

In less than 5 months flooring started coming up around us. Duct taping to keep from tripping now. I wanted glue down vinyl planks but they talked me out of it (more prepping for them and said you can't have any cracks which all we have is hairline)First off they laid this floating lock vinyl planks in kitchen on top of dishwasher mount so when dishwasher went out we had to have them come out do it right, pull flooring up and relay it and do it right by laying it to the wall before we could even get dishwasher out. Repairmen couldn't believe the sloppy short cut of a job. Flooring company where RRR sent us to buy flooring hired inspector to come out and reported back that it was RRR installation problem. RRR not taking responsibility and blaming on flooring company and we are stuck in the middle. We spent $12,000 for a floor that's literally falling apart in less than 6 months. RRR say they will re-install for an additional $4500 PLUS cost of new flooring. We are looking at another $7000 - $8000. I'm in a wheelchair, have MS and this has caused us consuming stress since August. (Another 5 months) I can't sleep I'm so upset which causes my symptoms to get worse. What happened to customer satisfaction, or to do the right thing? I could NEVER recommend them.
