My wife and I just bought new furniture and wanted to replace our large area rug. We went here because we bought our current one there. We spent a long time going through all the samples and had some questions but no one wanted to assist us. We felt like it probably wasn't enough money for them to bother with at a 1000 bucks so we decided to go elsewhere. There were plenty of people sitting at the front desk as we walked out. We did get the attention of one person that just stared at us but didn't even say a word. We went there a couple years ago and had the same experience and that time we gave 10k to a competitor. We tried them 2 years ago and spent 8k on carpet. Terrible customer service. They seem to be so big that they don't care if you buy anything or not. I can honestly say we will never go back. I have had experience in the past with carpet exchange and it has always been positive. This one was positive until install day and this isn't the installers fault. I was told that they would be painting the floors with oil based kilz. I inherited a home that had a lot of cat urine odor upstairs. I was told that the oil based kilz is what would seal it in. They swore up and down that it would work and I wouldn't need to replace the sub floor. Install day they painted the floor with kilz. The installers said it was water based. I asked them how ling it would take to dry. I called and spoke to Jimmy the manager. He was rude and told me there was no plab to put on the oil based. I specifically talked to Josh who told me that he would change the order and that the oil would be the best at killing the urine smell. Jimmy's solution have the installers spray paint the areas with kilz.... My solution I will sue carpet exchange if I have to have this new carpet pulled to replace a sub floor. I trusted what they said a out the oil based kilz. I have read the water doesn't work as good. read more

Ordered carpet through the Parker location. Originally wanted Costco, but decided on these guys. Install day comes and they are short carpet....like an entire master suite of carpet. The pattern of carpet in the hallway is slanted as well. The excuse is that they upgraded their computer system and they are 6 jobs short of carpet this week (including mine...not my problem). I spoke with the manager, 'Jimmy', who basically told me that he understands that my experience is bad, but that I have to wait 3 weeks for new carpet to arrive. I asked for some sort of credit and he said no...that I am not paying for the additional carpet and that is enough....WTF. Needless to say, I placed a stop payment on the credit card. I cannot express how poor of an establishment this place is. read more

We are in the midst of having several thousand square feet of tile and carpet installed from Carpet Exchange of Parker. The experience has been poor, with a number of issues arising that suggest a structural problem from Carpet Exchange. First, they are difficult to deal with as carpet and tile installations are handled separately (it appears that the latter is outsourced) and communication between the salesperson, carpet installer, and tile installer is poor. This meant frequent waiting for people to chase information even when we called to let the salesperson know we would be there at a certain time. Next, the day for tile installation arrived and while the gentleman seemed to do a good job overall, he did not have enough tile to finish the job. Somehow they had ordered too little and hence had to order more. We are still waiting. Yesterday, on a Sunday, they rang to tell us that the final payment was due for the carpet. I said that I understood that this is their normal approach, but pointed out that I had already paid in full for the tile (again, tile and carpet are treated separately) and that the tile work was not complete - and other than their assurances I had no way of knowing when/how it would be completed. As such it seemed reasonable to me to suggest that I hold off on the final carpet payment until we had the work done. The person on the phone said that they certainly understood but that they would have to have a manager call me, No manager called me back. This morning, another call, saying that they needed payment. I pointed out that I had been told a manager would call me. The person on the phone could not make the decision, told me how important it is to Carpet Exchange to care for the customer, but still put today's installation on hold while we were waiting for the manager to ring me. Finally just now the manager, Jimmy, rang me. I explained my position. He replied by saying 'corporate policy is.' I asked him if it was corporate policy to not complete jobs at the specified time, to not order sufficient materials, and to promise for people to return your call and then never call. He did not seem to agree with my view that Carpet Exchange is either not to be trusted, or that they themselves had already failed to meet their corporate policy. I tried to convince him that corporate policy should not be one-sided in favor of the corporate, but should instead be a fair agreement between corporate and customer. He did not agree. To get the carpet installed on time I had to go ahead and pay. Perhaps they will show up today to do the work, perhaps they will have sufficient materials, and perhaps they will come back to do the tile work. The important point for Carpet Exchange though is that their corporate policy has been met. As a quick follow-up, after typing the bits above Jimmy's manager Brad called just now at my request. While Brad and I still disagree on the main point that corporate policy should be fair to both parties, he did a much better job of explaining his perspective and agreed that some improvements in their process could be of value to both Carpet Exchange and their customers. I have my fingers crossed, but I do not feel that I should have to hope to be lucky when dealing with a corporate, their policy or not. read more

We needed to replace original carpet in downstairs walkout and I wanted to go to Carpet Exchange because I was interested in the core tech vinyl. We knew what color we were interested in, so the pick was easy, now only to pick carpet for the bedrooms and the stairs. The manager of the store, Jimmy, was amazing, helped us with the carpet choice. We were in and out of the store in probably about an hour. His carpet installer called the same day to set up an appt to do the measuring, he came the next day. Our flooring was done this week, they got the job done in the amount of time they said it would take. Both carpet and vinyl installers were very professional and did not leave my house in a mess. I purchased Karndean LVP floors to replace my wood floors and carpet. I have 3 dogs and didn't want to deal with scratches are carpet accidents. We decided to purchase this floor because it said "Pet Friendly" and was recommended by Carpet Exchange as low maintenance. I can honestly say my pets haven't scratched the floors. The floors look beautiful when they are cleaned (water/vinegar). However, this is short lived. As soon as the dogs walk on the floors every paw, human foot and any shoe print appears on the floor. You can see my dogs foot traffic patterns. You have to use a heavy mop head to clean the floors. A light floor mop like Bona's will not clean the floors. There is some type of film on the floors that grabs all the prints and dirt. At the end of the day, we traded scratches for dirty looking floors. read more

We made the mistake of choosing Carpet Exchange to replace old carpet and install vinyl plank flooring in a bathroom. Upon learning that my wife's 86-year-old mother's health was declining, and she would need to come live with us we felt it necessary to replace the carpet both for her and her cat and update the old, outdated linoleum in the bathroom. We spoke with Judy (if you deal with her, ask lots of questions about hidden fees!) and chose a carpet and vinyl plank flooring. She stated the carpet would take a week to arrive from the warehouse in Arizona and that I could pick up the vinyl plank in town at any time. The carpet installer arrived, one man, no help to carpet two bedrooms, a hallway, and a stairway. We asked and he told us he prefers to work alone as he makes more money that way. I admired his enthusiasm (not realizing the install would take 12 hours and three stairs would be left incomplete and several special surprises would be left for us for the future!) and purchased him lunch and dinner and removed all the doors to make the installation easier. To skip to the end, the roll of carpet was damaged upon arrival and three stairs were left uncarpeted for 10 days (though in fairness the installer covered the tack strips with little pieces of padding) and I later found the installer attempted to add a furniture moving fee of over a hundred dollars for helping me slide a queen mattress and move a small nightstand between rooms. When the second installer, Carlos, arrived (he was amazing, professional, and competent and I would highly recommend if he were contracted by any other business than Carpet Exchange!!), he put down new padding as our cats had found a new toy in tearing up the padding from the first install in the ten days they were given. Carlos pointed out that under each piece of padding a razor blade had been left. Now, I am left to wonder how many other razor blades are lying under our new carpet. While it is unlikely they would work their way up through it, I still consider it a possibility and wonder about the safety of whoever pulls up this carpet in 15-20 years. My big question is "Why?" What would be the point of leaving them there? So, the vinyl flooring crew shows up, 4 people to do a 5 x 5 bathroom as opposed to the one for carpet in half a house, and I ask if the old linoleum will be removed. I am told no, that is not standard for Carpet Exchange and would cost extra. I ask if I can return the cheap, unappealing threshold piece made from vinyl with no tack strip for the carpet and use the high-quality metal one I purchased with a tack strip and am told they use the cheap crappy one and glue it down and hint that if mine even can be used there will likely be a charge. The installer calls Judy the Shark. Let me pause to point out that when we initially met Judy, we explained that my wife would prefer to have vinyl plank in the upstairs hallway but considered it a safety issue with her mother's mobility issues but stated multiple times that someday she desired to remove that carpet (dodging all the razorblades) and install the vinyl plank we chose in the hallway. Having a layer of linoleum under the flooring in the bathroom would cause a height disparity necessitating removal and reinstallation of the flooring (completely aside from layovers in any realm of construction from roofs to floors being lazy and unprofessional and inevitably causing problems down the road). But no mention of this or any fees was made to my wife and I was, sadly, not involved in the conversation. So, after being informed of the $200 removal fee on top of the $300 installation fee for a 5 x 5 floor and the additional $175 "Carpet Tuck" fee that would then be necessary, I told Judy to cancel the install. It was after being informed of the $175 Calling-us-out-on-being-an-unprofessional-rip-off-company Fee that I hung up... read more

I have had carpet installed twice now by this company. Both times there were issues, and an ongoing headache. Last time was finally resolved and they fixed the carpet. This time they damaged multiple things in my home, left a huge mess and I've still yet to have it 100% resolved. I've tried to be reasonable and let some things slide, but the back and forth emails with their arrogant manager Jimmy is testing my patience for sure. I went into Carpet Exchange after shopping several locations. The sales person was awesome and credibly knowledgeable about their products along with all of the competitors products. We bought carpet and they had it installed in my house within 2 1/2 weeks. This was a special order carpet and they still made it fit our time frame. However there was a slight problem after the carpet was installed we noticed an area where the carpet looked shaded in part of the room. This did not make sense to us because the seam was one the other side of the room. I called and talk to the store manager she offered to come out to my house that very same evening to look at the problem. When she arrived she knew what the issue was right away. I guess when carpet is rolled up sometimes there is a problem called roll crush, where the fibers of the carpet go the opposite direction of the way they're supposed to. She explained this is a very common thing in carpet and if we leave alone it will go away in just a couple weeks. If waiting would bother us she offered to have our carpets steam cleaned within the next couple of days and the problem will disappear. I understand that problems happen on jobs. I think that the true integraty of a company come out when there is a problem on the job. How willing the company is to fix them when they do occur. I was incredibly impressed with the entire process. even though we had issues with the job this company gets five stars from me for showing that they actually care. read more

This upgrade from carpet to hardwood floor my office was super easy. I already knew what I wanted and only spent 15 minutes in the store ordering the materials and scheduling installation with Tony. The installation was also super easy. It took 2 hours to rip out the old carpet, remove the base boards, install the floor, and reinstall the base boards. And clean everything up. They were on time and worked quickly. I was worried about matching the hardwood in my hallway but it matched perfectly. We had some discussion about how I wanted the transition between the rooms to flow. Ultimately we decided against using the t-mould and keep the preexisting transition in place. We purchased carpet from here about 3 months ago. We had placed an original order prior to the one we ended up with. Their saleswoman ran all the numbers gave us a final price and we put money down. She was later fired because they said she was incompetent. They didn't reach out to us after firing her. We found out when we went to finalize the installation. They basically said oh ya she didn't know what she was doing. So if you still want that order it will be 3x our quoted price. That wasn't going to be possible for us. And they said too damn bad. But wait we have some really nice leftover pieces that would work. "They are so nice and don't show stains". 3 months later. The stains are unreal. We were hesitant because it was for the stairs but the new saleswoman assured us they wouldn't show stains. " you could pour bleach on it and be fine". This is just not the case. We were completely lied to and screwed around. My advice would be to avoid dealing with this place. Their install time was also 2 weeks past the time the originally quoted us. It was basically a headache shopping here and now we are living with the nightmare of carpet that didn't live up to the sales pitch we were given. We will have to get replacement carpet for the stairs soon, but never from here again. read more

Glad I did because my experience with Carpet Exchange has been absolutely awesome! I couldn't have asked for a better start-to-finish experience than what I had. Updating my kitchen with granite countertops and CE was having a granite sale right in my price range. Tony at Parker store was thorough, easy to work with and I will use the Parker store again. Paid $10K to have hardwood floors installed and the finish started flaking and falling apart after 4 months. Now, 13 months in, they keep getting worse and look awful. Carpet Exchange had an inspector come and tell us that the humidity level in our home was 0% and the floor is falling apart because of that and NOT under warranty. I bought a humidity instrument and my house has been about 30% humidity every day, so not only will they not stand behind their product, their "independent inspector" is a liar and in on the scam. In addition, no one said a word about this when we bought the floors (this is CO, humidity is low here people). The store manager said that didn't make sense and pre-engineered flooring does great in CO but she couldn't do anything and to contact Evelyn at corporate. If the experience wasnt bad enough to begin with, I have called Evelyn every day and left a voice mail. She called me back once at 7pm on a Friday (I was busy and missed the call), and never again, what a joke. I have filed this with the BBB, now Yelp, and I will be sending to the local news organizations and getting a lawyer next. Cheap product and even worse customer service. I met with Fred Bode and found that he was a lot more knowledgeable about the available products. We settled on a carpet that had been tested and produced for exactly what we needed. Fred was very professional to deal with and we got a far better deal than Home Depot. The installers were very polite and helpful moving the heavy furniture and got the job done quickly. Title of this review: I shouldn't have to work so hard to help them be better salesman. This review is of the Carpet Exchange in Parker, CO. I had worked with the Littleton Carpet exchange and had a pleasant experience and the new carpet in the house looks great. However, for the Pikes Peak Carpet Exchange in Parker, I walked in to the shop in the evening and pretty much had to wave my arms around to get Randall, one of the Managers, to acknowledge me. Then I asked for a specific carpet by name and Randall wasn't too interested in searching, told me they didn't have it in that shop. Well, the other guy working there found it just 15 feet away from their desk. So I borrowed some carpet samples and returned them with my selection and asked Randall to schedule the in home measurements. A week later I had to call them again because I never got the call from the measurements guy. Randall tried to blame it on me-he said that I needed to put money down! What?! They advertise free in-home estimates? Why would I put money down on a guess-timate? He just forgot to call him, that's all. I asked for the price per square foot for that specific carpet but he would only give me the total price per square yard (carpet+pad+extras). Trying to get help from Randall feels like pulling teeth with a tweezers. Maybe someone else in the shop would give you a better sales experience but I'm going with a competitor for carpet installation. read more

I wish there was an option for zero stars. I purchased approximately 600sq ft of high end carpet and pad for $3,300. This is a significant amount to pay but I assumed this was high quality product and I would receive excellent service. My carpet was installed on 8/15. I returned home to find my patio and screen door left wide open. Carpet scraps were left in the corner of my deck. My brand new curtains were all tied up in knots and just left like that. There was trash left behind and nails left on my kitchen floor. When I purchased the carpet, I said I wanted the most plush carpet you have. I want to feel like I am walking on a cloud. This pad is extremely firm and does not feel soft and plus like I wanted. The carpet is high on one end of the room by the front wall. When I spoke to both the installation manager and salesperson who helped me I was told that the installer said he closed it. That is a total lie. I live on the 3rd floor so unless spiderman scaled the building and figured out how to open a locked door that also had a wood block for extra security it was left wide open by the installer. NO APOLOGY whatsoever from the salesperson who I am also told is the assistant manager. He literally said it was he said/she said. As if I would lie about the door being left open. He also proceeded to tell me that he went over their himself this morning but the code to the door would not work because its locked. Its illegal to break into people's homes just FYI carpet exchange. Permission was granted to enter on 8/15 not 8/16. The powers that be at the corporate office have not called me back but I will say that Frank the Denver Installation manager was extremely apologetic and very nice and did try and help me. I have filed a BBB complaint against this company and would NEVER use them again. The salesperson that helped me literally had the audacity to address tile that we had previously discussed. AS IF I WOULD GIVE THESE PEOPLE MORE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS LACK OF SERVICE AND GIVE A DAMN FROM THESE PEOPLE. read more
