The PPAC is a staple in Providence theater and never disappoints. The establishment has been here…read morefor a long time, but they keep it maintained. I went to see The Lion King and it was fabulous! The theater is small enough to capture the details without binoculars or an additional screen. The music was captivating. The colors were vivid. The storyline was familiar, and the characters were great. I would absolutely go back to PPAC to watch this play, and looking forward to other plays coming later this year and next year.

I was excited to see that the Lion King was playing at the Providence Performing Arts Center! The theater is very easy to get to and there is a ton of parking nearby. Admissions was swift and not crowded - they definitely are organized and know how to keep the traffic moving. They sell various snacks and some are even locally made like the popcorn I bought. The venue itself is beautiful, especially the theater. The seats are as you would expect - velvety and small. The sound and lights were great. I really enjoyed the show. I will say that at times, I felt distracted - it seemed like the audience was louder than I expected - especially with the snack bags. Oh well, what can you do At intermission the women's bathroom was a little bit of a you know what. But this seems to be a common problem with older theaters. Regardless, I had a great time and would def come back to see another show!

I believe some of the doors (there are a lot of doors) have the auto-open feature. Parking lot has a good amount of lights too. Lobby has been updated in the past few years with lots of food options, a bar area, an arcade area and a private room you can rent for birthday parties and the like. There are a few seating options in the lobby as well. In theater seats are assigned, so buy them in advance on-line to get your preferred seat. There is also a kiosk inside the back door you can use to buy tickets and there are customer service reps to buy them from a person. Both these on-site options also allow you to purchase for a future date/time if the on-line option isn't your comfort zone. Cinemas are located off long hallways left and right off the lobby with a large men's and ladies' room off each hallway. Although not remodeled, the restroom does look like it's had some aesthetic updates. Cinemas are wheelchair accessible with ramps on the lower level. Seats recline and have small tables for snacks you purchased and cup holders. Each level is high enough above the one in front that no one's head is in your way. The audio is *loud*. I wear ear plugs and it's still plenty loud. Some theaters offer 3D movies or advanced sound experiences. All movies now offer Closed captioning and descriptive services. See customer service for info on those. Movie tickets are pretty pricey, and it's nice that this cinema is updated to make the experience comfortable with big reclining seats and enjoyable with cinematic surround sound. Lots of base. Theaters, lobby and restrooms are kept clean. Snow was cleared from the lot and sidewalks and they were sanded. It's great they have food, popcorn, candy, soda and adult beverages available too if you really like to splurge on your night (or day) out.

The issue is brought to the attention of management who handles it. In response to previous reviewer, Bre, things aren't always as reported. My understanding of what happened was she arrived late. That happens. But the show was on & attempting to communicate with the "squatters" & Bre could be disruptive to the performers. (Many places don't even allow entry while performers are actively doing their show). So they were told they had to wait for intermission but were given other seats in the meantime.

The theatre recently became part of the Spectacle Live family, which also manages the Jane Pickens Theatre in Newport, and several other performance venues across New England. We were here for Sean Healey's Celtic Christmas show earlier this week, and it was a great experience. We arrived for the 7:30 show at about 7:10 and went very quickly through the security line and the ticket checkers. AS the Brown University shooter was still at large, it was comforting to see an increased police presence at the show - The theatre is in a "good" neighborhood with no reason for extra security, but given the recent events it was great to see they were taking their patrons' safety seriously. The seats in the theatre are very comfortable and even have cup holders. It's a small to medium sized venue and there's not a bad seat in the house! It is connected to a lounge/bar, so there are plenty of drinks available that youc an take in to the concert area. Bathrooms are plentiful, and are on the same level as the seating area, and there is a large paring lot across the street behind Cranston City Hall that is free for concert goers to use in the evenings. Rolfe Square is in walking distance, with many dinner choices nearby. If you haven't been to the Park before, definitely check it out! It's a quality theatre with a great lineup of events!

Beautiful new space for a great theatre company! There is substantially more space than in the old…read more31Studios theater - and a real box office. There are seats for 60 now, versus 40 formerly. At the time of my visit the performance space was fully built but some of the other spaces (restrooms) were still being finished. RI Spirits is on the lower level of the building, and they've graciously sponsored the concession stand, meaning that during intermission you can get Rhodium vodka or gin (with a mixer) along with soft drinks, or sweet and salty snacks. The Burbage Theatre Company is already an important contributor to the Pawtucket arts scene, with free Shakespeare (and the hysterical Complete Works, which still counts) in the city spaces like the Guild over the past two summers. We saw the very funny The School for Lies today, and the rest of the line-up for this 9th season looks equally exciting. I'm looking forward to a fabulous season from an energetic and engaging company.

This is a large theater too. It's open seating so you have to get there a bit early so you can choose your seats. The visual and sound all were great! We enjoyed the film! This time we Ubered there but have driven there too and managed to find street parking nearby - both times on Sunday afternoon. Will be back to watch other classics!

Have I seriously never reviewed the Somerville theatre before? Sheesh…read more I've been going here ever since I moved to the area in 2010, and it's a staple. I'm a member and my husband and I go several times a month to see new releases as well as repertory cinema. They also have events both in the Crystal Ballroom and on the main stage (i.e. the yearly beloved holiday Slutcracker). We are lucky to have a theater like this one in our city, so everyone come on out and support it!

We were at the Stadium last night to see the musical Anastasia. Our seats cost $45 and we were 6 rows from the stage. You really can't beat that! This theatre has excellent sight lines and we could see everything on stage very clearly. The acting and singing of the entire cast was outstanding, and they had a live orchestra as well. The Stadium lineup usually consists of a few musicals per season, several tribute bands, comedians, popular singers from years past, and they also seasonal favorites such as "A Christmas Carol" and "It's a Wonderful Life" radio show. We've always had great experiences here and we'll be going back in just a few weeks to see Melissa Etheridge.

The outside of the theatre is a welcoming beacon of bright lights and fanfare of yesteryear. The lines moved along swiftly. We encountered an issue with our specific tickets and visited guest services. Everyone was extremely helpful. My special shout out to Dekhi Touray who handled our situation with genuine concern and deftly resolved. He was pleasant and really the epitome of a class act. Friendly, Attentive to all patrons and visible throughout the show. Once inside the opulance of this theater shown. Beautiful from wall to wall; friendly attendants helped with our seating and the show kicked off promptly. Acoustics were phenomenal! Restrooms were also impeccably clean considering how many people were coming through. Overall first class! We will definitely be checking out the schedule and intend to see more events here in the near future!
