Their sandwiches are fantastic and varied. As a pescatarian, I am still able to find something here (tuna, veggie sandwich, cheese) as can my husband who isn't quite as limited. My friend went into the cafe and ordered our meal "to go" around 830 pm on Wednesday evening .. Three of us ordered the gobbler sandwich , friend ordered the Cobb, and other other ordered the Wendy. The " baked potato " potato salad was recommended as a side and they were right... very good! Despite it being late in the evening , the food was well prepared, fresh, and full of flavor. He mentioned it was a little slow to prepare , although it's a small cafe and one staff member getting ready to closing up , so be patient. I am giving it 2 stars only because the Sandwhich was decent. The lettuce was wilted around the edges. There is limited choices in chips. During our visit, the soda machine was running low in syrup. My biggest problem was the customer service. To say it was bad, would be an under statement. The young lady behind the counter gave "Rude" a new meaning! I love this place! We stopped here because of its close proximity to the Amtrak Station. Extensive selection of sandwiches and a few salads. I got the Cuban and it was absolutely the best I've ever had. The side of baked potato salad was also delicious. My daughter got the Rueben and said it was very yummy. I had the California sandwich (grilled not cold)....I felt like I was eating a warm Ciabatta roll with a couple pieces of spinach in between. This seemed to be the consensus among my coworkers and I. Good news is that this place has a lot of potential...great ingredients and a good menu, but the sandwiches just need to have a higher meat/veggie to bread ratio and they need to be left on the grill longer. Okay, I'm in Wilson working in a contract looking for good eats. I found this on yelp with great reviews. I order the Ruben sandwich. The sand which was nice not NY Ruben is good for the South. But what got me while I was there the guys I the kitchen had no gloves on and not using any food utensil. I was flabbergasted he may wipe his nose then grab the hot chips and place in basket. Then the sand he was making it literally took some of the meat out and put it in his mouth. The wipe his forehead and then pulled out his phone to check is call. While having a few moment of downtime at work today, I happened to be browsing The Wilson Times, online version, special section (http://www.wilsontimes.com/specialsections/) and I found this 2012 Dining Guide. In this guide, I found my next adventure; the guide led me to Carolina Cheese Co. I have tasted CCC before, not directly from their storefront; CCC also does catering for events. CCC is in the Brentwood shopping center, but it might be hard to spot since there is no big sign, at least I wasn't aware. But I found it anyway. I opted for the combo today, so I can get a better taste here. Half sandwich (Al Capone, which I assume is their way of calling it "Italian") and half soup, which is French Onion on Fridays. I like it inside; the chalkboard menu, the warm and friendly service, the cheese and meat in clear display, and the food! Oh, the food! It was delicious. When I checked out their menu online, the only thing missing was the daily special, which according to a small sign near the ordering counter was Fish & Chips. Wished I had known that. P.S. We ate lunch here on a Saturday morning with my daughter's soccer team, about 25 of us in total. We arrived early, around 11:30am, so we were just about the only ones there. It took quite a while to get through the ordering line and get our food (maybe 30 minutes or so). Overall, the food was pretty good. Some folks really enjoyed it, some said it was just average. They had enough seating for our whole team, which was also great. This is a good place for lunch if you are looking for non-chain, deli-style food with other options too, like burgers and fries. This hometown sandwich shop has some of the best sandwiches around! I'm a big burger fan and the Brentwood burger on Pretzel is great! Instead of french fries they give you homemade potato chips! Amazing! The burgers are fresh as the come. The only hangup is that it takes about 7-10 minutes to get your order out. But they do make everything to order so the wait makes it well worth it. If you're in town and have about 35 mins for lunch I highly recommend this place! They are only open for breakfast and lunch. They close at 3pm so mind the time! read more

So my fiancé loves this place and I like it... but unfortunately if it is not one problem it's another. Today really kinda just set off the review time bells in my head. I would say about 8 out of 10 times we go something is wrong or there's some sort of an issue. Usually it is that the food order is wrong in some way shape or form and I've read others reviews stating the same thing. The other issue that is a solid 10 of 10 visits is the wait time SUCKS. It's unacceptable how long it takes for the type of restaurant this is. You will wait at least 15 to 20 minutes or more for your food so if you have to have this place, I highly recommend calling about 20 minutes before your arrival and order ahead. You should either have it ready or still have to wait about 5 minutes for your food if you do this. The other problem I've experienced a couple of times is that the staff is quite rude. Namely there is a specific female that is blonde haired and thin and I'm pretty sure is a manager of some sort because she always seems to be the one in charge behind the counter. However, I will say the last several times we have gone I have not noticed this as much. Lastly, the biggest issue is that apparently the owners or managers feel it ok to just close whenever they want for no apparent reason. This is the reason today that sparked my desire to review. We went once at about 2:15 pm and we're told by the same female I mentioned above that they would not serve us because they were closing early (at 2:30 pm) for a party they had coming in at 3pm. There was no notice on the door, Facebook, etc. then we have gone a couple additional times and they are just closed within their normal operating hours with no notices anywhere to be found as to why they will be closed. This to me is the most unprofessional issue of all. Overall, I typically try not to eat here for all of the reasons I've mentioned. However, I will compliment by saying that usually the food is very good. Which is the only reason I very rarely will tolerate the issues. If you eat here just beware, you will most likely experience some sort of an inconvenience. I would also make sure to call well ahead of time to have your food ready when you arrive. I would rate this place 1 of 5 but the only reason I give it a 2 is for the food and also because they do keep it pretty clean and orderly looking inside. read more
