If it has been a while [read years] since you went through your crawlspace, or even if it hasn't, you might want to take a look. We were fortunate that two different service persons who were in our crawlspace both commented that "You might want to do something about the mold." So we looked. Yep, it WAS that bad. Who to hire? And what EXACTLY to do? We did get four quotes although they all had slightly different components. Ultimately, we chose Carolina Casa, and we're very glad we did. Owner Ryan Leheny came by within a couple days of our inquiry to scope out the project. He listened carefully and made suggestions but was willing to modify tactics based on our desires. We went through a few emails (well, maybe more than a few) back and forth and he was always willing to adjust. A short one week after signing the quote (several times updated based on our emails) Carolina Casa was ready to start. Ryan's team was professional, courteous, and conscientious, spending six hours (or more) at a time in the crawlspace. As with any project, there were some minor hiccups but the team took them in stride and made things work. We never encountered a "That's not in the quote," "We can't do that," or "That's just the way it is" situation. In fact, Ryan and his team went out of their way to remove some non-functional pipe hanging in the crawlspace. At the inspection (yes, sealing a crawlspace requires a permit in Wake County) there were some minor issues raised which Carolina Casa returned within days to remedy. Carolina casa is a phenomenal company!!! They are very knowledgeable people. From having them out for the estimate and them helping us come up with a solution to fix the problem which come to find out we did not have structural damage and they did not try to take advantage of us on selling us things we did not need, but instead gave us a solution on how to fix the very minor issue. In this day and age it's hard to find trustworthy and honest people and I was highly impressed that they did not try to sell me something that I did not need. I got bids from several companies to install a vapor barrier in my crawl space and found that Carolina Casa gave me a very competitive bid. The scope of work and all issues to be addressed were explained in great detail. There was no attempt to over sell the work that needed to be done, and all my follow up questions were answered in a timely manner. The installation process was on time and well done. If you are looking to encapsulate your crawlspace, call Carolina Casa!  I had been searching around and had received several estimates along with having several 'estimate experiences'.  The one that can't find the time to explain their estimate, the one that wants to 'move in' and give you the grand presentation that is about as fun as sitting through a timeshare pitch, the one that tries to scare you making you think your home is about ready to fall through the ground and finally the one who quotes you a price 4X higher than anyone else but can't produce an itemized estimate claiming their computer system won't allow it, adding that they are rated A+ with the BBB. I was frustrated and about to give up when I called Carolina Casa.  WOW.  First thing, a REAL PERSON answered the phone, and it was someone who actually worked there and knew the business  who could have a good discussion about the work to be done, options to consider, etc.  A date and time was agreed up on for the estimate visit and Ryan showed up on time and was ready to talk.  He did a thorough walk through of our crawl, took pictures and already knew the square footage as he'd pulled it up on the county website.  [PREPARED]  We talked after he looked around and he was able to give me a ballpark estimate ON THE SPOT, no waiting and waiting... He followed up his verbal with an ITEMIZED fully detailed estimate that outlined everything perfectly--right down to the materials to be used and equipment to be installed. The crew arrived the next day to start the work; I noticed Ryan arrived also to touch base with them and drop off some of the materials.  The crew worked their butts off and completed the work exactly when they said they would.  They left things so clean and neat, you'd never have even known they were here, except to look in the crawl space and see a true work of art.  The workmanship is solid; clearly they take pride in what they do and are true professionals.  I still have a hard time believing that it is OUR crawlspace--I can't believe it!  I think I could actually have a dinner party down there...it is THAT GOOD! One more thing, Carolina Casa is also rated A+ with the BBB.  They didn't float that in front of my face upon arrival; I just checked them out on my own.  The only difference is, that unlike the other over-priced conglomerate who was A+ with the BBB, Carolina has a CLEAN A+ rating.  The other A+ BBB rated company also had a laundry list of disputed complaints with the BBB.
