I lined up a handful of painters based on reviews from around the internet. The saving grace in this instance is the Owner's wife. I dealt with via email and she was always quick to reply and seemed friendly. Meeting the actual owner? That's a totally different story. I had high hopes because most of his reviews are pretty glowing. He came to the house and immediately rubbed my husband the wrong way. He looked like he was angry. He came into the house and didn't bother really making small talk. Like I said, he apparently was angry. Maybe because he had called to move our appointment up and unfortunately I could not accommodate him. He got his tools, measured the house, wrote up an estimate and left. He barely shook my husband's hand on the way out. Even with glowing reviews and a good price, I could not in good conscience give him our business. You only have one time to make a great impression and he failed.
