This adorbs little spot is in a renovated old house right on the main street of charming Knightdale. The place is clean and bright, and they have a nice-sized beer garden out back as well. What really set them apart was the service, though. Bad Experience - Unfair Treatment and Possible Discrimination…read moreto : Mr. Jeff Clarke, as the owner and operator On Sunday, October 19, 2025, around 12:45 a.m., I was asked to leave Person Street Bar (805 N Person St, Raleigh, NC 27604) by one of the female servers. While this happened, another individual placed his hand on my shoulder. I was not being disruptive or inappropriate in any way -- I was dressed in a suit and behaving respectfully. I was simply being social and talking with other customers. Despite that, I was suddenly asked to leave, which felt unfair and humiliating. I believe I was treated without respect and possibly discriminated against. This kind of behavior is unacceptable. Mr. Jeff Clarke, as the owner and operator, I want you to be aware that I intend to report this incident to the City of Raleigh Office of Equity and Inclusion and consider legal action for discrimination and wrongful treatment.

The space is effortlessly charming, with a retro-cool vibe that feels authentic rather than manufactured. The biggest surprise was the bar program. The bartender was a far better mixologist than you might expect from a hotel lounge, turning out cocktails that would be right at home in many of Raleigh's dedicated cocktail bars. It's easy to see why both hotel guests and locals seem to gravitate here. In an era where so many hotel bars feel like an afterthought, The Lounge feels like a destination in its own right. Between the welcoming atmosphere, quality drinks, and undeniable character, it's hard not to fall for this place. I can't say enough good things about The Lounge or the Longleaf Hotel itself. He asked another guy who I believe is the owner, and he said that beer ages well. It did not and it was beyond bad. I looked up the beer and it said it loses its flavor after 6 months on the shelf. I'm betting it's been there 2 years. That guy is the same guy that recommended a bunch of sweet sours the first time I went there after asking if he had sours or goses that were not sweet. A few of those were not only sweet but bad as in old. I will not be back at this place. It would do better if the owner stayed home, and they stopped selling stale beer.
