I loved this hotel from the moment I walked in. We stayed the first weekend of November for the proximity to the marathon starting line. The room was stylish and we faced the back of the hotel so our view was of some magnolia trees. The bed was comfortable and I loved that our dog was welcomed in the hotel. We got cocktails one night at the lounge. I wasn't feeling the cocktail list and asked instead for a paper plane and was delighted that the bartender could accommodate that request. Having stayed at many hotels this year, this was one of the best and most memorable.

We joined Longleaf for their 5 year anniversary party with food, live music and special cocktail menu, it was amazing! The vibe was fantastic and the staff were also great. I can't want to go back. Maybe even plan a staycation.

Bottom line: The Longleaf Lounge is a nice retro style/vintage type of place to get your drink and snack on. Great drinks menu and modest but tasty snack choices to accompany your drinks with. Great service. I am a fan! The Deets: I had a chance to check out Longleaf Lounge in the downtown Raleigh boutique Longleaf Hotel recently when asked to join Melissa O. and Robert O. for drinks and snacks there before they head out to Red Hat Amphitheater for a concert later. I had seen other Yelpers comment on and review this place but not got to check it out until now. If you dig retro/vintage feel for your bar or lounge, then Longleaf is the place for you. I really liked it, a very cool retro themed relaxing place to hang out. They also have an outside patio type area as well as the bar/booth situation inside. They had a great menu of custom cocktails, beer/cider, wine, even "zero proof" tequila or gin to choose from. I went with a very dry Eden Cider to start with and it was a great choice. For snacks, they have a modest selection of nibbles...we chose the French Onion Dip with ridged potato chips and the Port Wine Cheese Ball with Ritz crackers. Both of them fit the bill for good and tasty snacks to accompany your drink selection. Most all the selection are snack oriented and not heavier than that. Bartender/server Canaan was wonderful...personable, on point with service, and a great bartender. I will go with 4.5 stars for Longleaf Lounge and looking forward to hanging out there again in the future!

If you are staying at the Longleaf Hotel, a nightcap here is a must. You can sit inside or outside, we grabbed a table inside. You can choose a beer, glass of wine or cocktail from their menu. There is also a small selection of snacks available. It was two Cuke Gimlet's for me and the Laura Palmer for my husband. We really enjoyed the cocktails and service here. Cheers!

I highly recommend checking out the best kept secret outdoor lounge in Raleigh! Y'all need to head over the Longleaf Lounge ASAP, for the drinks for the fire pits, for the snacks and the vibe. The staff is so helpful and completely knowledgeable of the menu. They even have Pendleton Wool blankets you can borrow for the chilly temps -- or take home for $60! Enjoy a socially distanced, loungy vibe + high quality drinks & snacks.

FYI they don't start serving until 4pm! They have a lovely outdoor area to sit and enjoy drinks. Great drink menu but they only have small snack items for food.

The air hums with the scent of tobacco, oak, and good decisions made slowly. Plush couches and deep leather chairs form little islands of comfort, perfect for sinking into a conversation that doesn't need to end soon. Along the walls, humidors stand like treasure chests, keeping their cigars in stately silence. Vintage wood glows everywhere--from the bar's polished surface to the beams above--each grain steeped in quiet history. Overhead, TVs flicker with old games and new ones alike, while dart boards wait nearby for a little friendly competition between sips of bourbon and curls of smoke. The bartender slides the Old Fashioned across the bar with the precision of a man who's been doing it long enough to know that showmanship is for amateurs. No fancy garnish, no chatter--just the soft clink of glass meeting wood and a nod that says this'll do. Happiness here isn't loud or glittery--it's slow-burning and pleasantly lopsided, like a jazz tune played just slightly off the beat. It seeps in between sips and smoke rings, wrapping itself around you like the worn leather of the chair you've claimed for the night. It's the kind that finds you sitting still, glass half full, smoke curling upward like a satisfied sigh. Cheers!

With little signage the space feels like a natural speakeasy. It's unpolished enough to feel a little sleazy, yet polished enough to never feel dirty. In other words, it has character, and plenty of it. The bartenders were fantastic: knowledgeable, talented, and happy to chat about the spirits behind the bar. Whether you're a serious whiskey enthusiast or just looking for a well-made cocktail, you're in good hands. Being open later than most Raleigh bars makes Foundation one of the city's go-to late-night options, but that shouldn't overshadow what it really is........a great bar at any hour. The atmosphere, the drinks, and the people behind the bar make this a place worth seeking out whether it's your first stop of the evening or your last.

I had their basil smash, which was refreshing, and the Manhattan--bold with a warm, spicy profile. Pleasant surprise to see Michter's as the special of the night, and it was excellent with smooth caramel and vanilla notes. Service started off a little hands-off since we ordered at the bar, but picked up toward the end when staff came by to check in. Drinks were high quality without being overpriced, and the vibe is relaxed--not at all pretentious. You can definitely come casual. If we had more time, we would've stayed longer or come back for another round.
