The offices are conveniently located right on China Grade Loop. What I like about this location, which he shares with North Bakersfield Dental group, is that you can park out in front on the street and just walk right in the front door and you're there. With doctors that have offices in the major medical complexes there is always the hassle of parking, walking down long hallways and taking the stairs or elevators to get where you're going. This is so much more convenient. They share not just the building, but the waiting room with a dentist's office. There is plenty of seating, a flat screen television, and sports memorabilia to entertain yourself with while you wait. There is even free wifi (they have the password posted inside) so you can surf the internet while you wait - and a fountain in the waiting room. My boyfriend has always been happy with his medical care here. On this particular visit, we were here so that he could get the side pieces of his eyeglasses readjusted. They ushered him into the back and had him back out front in under 5 minutes. Best of all, they didn't charge him for the service. It's getting to be about time for me to get my eyes checked again and get a new prescription, and once I confirm that they take my insurance I'll be heading back here myself.

I had PRK surgery to correct my horrible vision last December. I was never a candidate for any…read morelaser correction surgery before because my cornea is too thin. However, Dr. Miller knew I was always interested and when the technology got good enough to make me a candidate I jumped at it. It was pretty expensive but I didn't care. I've had such bad vision my entire life and I hated contacts and glasses. The surgery plus all post treatment was $4800 (after 15% covered by my insurance). Dr. Stainer does all the eye surgery and I felt in very good hands. They answered all my questions and were honest about the expected results. They said I may never have 20/20 vision with my eyes and I wasn't a candidate for a second procedure. So this was my one and only shot. Well now I see 20/15 (better than 20/20) and my eyes are still healing and I should see the final results within 6-12 months so it could get better. My only complaint about both of their offices is the very long wait times. I've waited over an hour once for a 10 minute post-op visit. Expect your appointment to run 30-45 minutes late on average unless you book early in the morning. However the time you spend in the waiting room is worth the dedicated care you receive. I would recommend Dr. Stainer for laser eye surgery any day.

I was greeted by the front desk receptionist with a friendly welcome and smile. My wait was no more than 5 mins after my scheduled appointment. I was assisted by Carmen who is one of the friendliest and most knowledgeable there can be. For my pre-exam the process was smooth as I was navigated to each eye machine. I then waited for Dr. Li and again not long. He greeted me with a great sense of humor. He is very easy going and is attentive to patient's needs. He is quick to address any concerns you may have. You can rest assured your questions are answered honestly. He is one of the most thorough optometrists I have even been around. He reviewed all the graphs and results of my pre-eye exam and broke down what exactly I was looking at. I essentially was looking at my entire eye health. This something unique and akin to what a dentist would show you when they take x-rays. I was really impressed. He was very forthcoming about what to expect as I age with my eye health. He also was able to provide a sense of understanding. I was very appreciative of his knowledge. Following my visit, I was escorted to the optician (I forget her name). She assisted me in selecting frames. She helped me with understanding what my insurance covers, and she even allowed for me to combine my wife's coverage. She was very patient with all my questions and not once I ever felt rushed. I may have kept her longer than I intended and had to depart. However, I was introduced to the person that finished up for her and that optician too (I forget her name) was very nice. At the end I was able to select a quality pair of frames that I am sure I will be happy with! From start to end the visit was one of the best I have ever had! The facility is comfortable and inviting. The entire staff I encountered were all very professional and courteous. Dr. Li was simply a joy to speak to and I am sure I can trust him with all my needs for years to come! I cannot recommend him enough. If you need an optometrists consider Li and Liao Optometry! Just a note, I saw many reviews and was skeptical at first in purchasing frames at the optometrist's office. I am someone who have been accustomed to purchasing eyeglasses from Costco. Costco offers a good selection, and the costs are more than fair. However, I can say that after my visit with Dr. Li and having the opportunity to keep an open mind to see what they offered I opted to purchase my frames from his establishment. I wanted to support not only a doctor who knows his craft but a business who provides awesome service, impeccable knowledge of eye health and second to none care. I find that when sitting with an optician I get the most out of selecting the best frames. Of course, you will see name brand choices, and this may scare some when it comes to pricing. But I compare it to what are you willing to pay for your health. It is like purchasing a good mattress so one can sleep well. I look at glasses the same, you may be wearing these 24/7.
