Hidden gem in Planada!! I ordered a torta de asada without salsa and it was good, 9/10. I just wish it some beans and cheese! I'll ask for some next time! There are tables inside and outside. The ones inside has some AC so you can avoid the heat. I recommend this place! read more

Huge burrito and also delicious! There was a long line when we got there so I knew it would be good. The carnitas were super tender and the buche was amazing as well. The burrito supreme has rice, beans, the meat, cheese, and crema. There are not a lot of good carnitas around so I can tell why this place is so busy. Best burritos in CA, I grab one every time I pass by this place!!! And the mamas working in the kitchen are the sweetest!!!

On the way to Yosemite today we stopped at this little spot known for their amazing carnitas. I ordered the Torta with carnitas and he ordered the carnitas burrito. Delicious!! The bread was perfect vessel for the crispy flavorful carnitas. It was huge! We could of just shared that. His burrito was delicious too! All of the times that we've driven through this little town on the way to Yosemite, and this is the first time stopping to eat here. What a gem!! The yelpers don't lie, their carnitas are really delicious! Some of the best we've ever had. 10/10 read more

my favorite place to buy carnitas! I've tried so many different places but these are the best I've tried!

People lined up Sunday early/ I eavesdropped and ordered the 'favorites'. Best carnitas torta. Period. Superb chivo. Fresh tortillas, salsa, car picnic in the lot. Immediately. Do it! Bought the menudo/ still too full but looks very promising.. Tremendous chicharon. Huge 12" x 24". Crispy salty goodness. My wife isn't a huge fan, but she kept snapping off chunks.. says a LOT! Buche was a big seller. If you know, you know. If you don't, I don't think it's going to be your thing. (It's pig stomach. If you like Menudo or tripe, then maybe but it's got a..... "pretty heavy flavor") No tripa or lengua tacos on sundays( menudo and chivo take up the stove-room), I'll grab some the next time headed east. I usually go through Madera, but this place may change my route. It's reaaally good! read more

It's an out of the way place but is definitely worth the stop Food: 5/5 very delicious food and made quickly. All their meats are juice and tender and they make sure all their dishes have a good mix of all the toppings to make the perfect plate. Service: 5/5 Spanish and English speaking with very good prices. Very helpful when explaining what things are and are very patient. We stumbled on this place because we missed our exit to Merced to find food and the GPS said there was a Mexican restaurant a few miles up ahead. Fine, as we didn't want to backtrack. It was a good sign that there were many people eating here in a city with a population under 4,000. I ordered a huarache. Never heard of it before, but the description sounded good. What I got was a huge, fried tortilla filled with lots and lots of tender carnitas (pork), plenty of melted cheese, and cilantro. Simple and delicious. Bonus was the good hot sauce. They also sell burgers. Maybe good for the finicky kids, but the Mexican food is their specialty. read more
