    WTF?!??
    MsMichele P.

This park is huge, there are several different grassy areas to run around however, there are also a lot of REALLY SHADY characters chillin pretty much all over too. You know, the kind that tow their homes in back of their junked up, taped together pieces of metal? Yeah, not a good look. The only reason I went here was for the dog park which was closed and supposedly "under construction". Although there was no construction happening nor any workers in site or any what looked to be "work" going on. LAME. I definitely wont go back here. Ever... without my numb-chucks. LOL

Amazing that this park offers so many amenities and is clean as it is, because its run by volunteers only. A very roomy large dog park and a separate small dog park have nice lawns, tables and provide doggy bags. Membership is optional, but it is a big bang for the buck...really inexpensive. I'm happy to donate in order to have a great place for my big dog.

The size of the play area for big dogs is perfect. Enough room to run around , but not too big where you can't keep your eye on your pup. My 6th month old Australian Shepherd loves it here. Only had 1 issue where an over excited Dalmatian tried to go after my pup and the owner didn't do much about it besides say "my dog comes here all the time it has never done that" keep an eye out for bad dogs and owners and you and your dogs will enjoy.

Love to bring my fur baby here. Always friendly people and friendly dogs to play with. It can get a bit crowded at certain times but other than that best place to take your pooch.

Not so great as far as dog parks go. Very dusty and lots of land mines left behind by others. It is better in the morning.

A lot of loud mouth old people here. They think they own the park. Love the park can't stand TJ people.

My dog loves it here. The people and other dogs are usually nice. Pretty clean also. We have gone every weekend for a month and we love it.

I thought u needed advanced tickets so bought online but it's really just whoever wants to ride can line up. https://www.svlsrm.org/ Duck pond: tons of duck and geese Water area: part of american river?? Not sure. Can fish there! Playground: With climate change, unpredictable weather, and summers with many days over 100F, would be nice if all parks in the sac area provided shade. This one has shade only over a small set of swings by a picnic area/ by the trains & barn. The main playground had shade near it but no shade over the play structures. Kids going down the slides could get burned- recommend putting up shade to avoid future liability issues. Overall a beautiful park w a good amt of shade, multiple parking lots and multiple picnic areas. Too far for us to come regularly but likely coming back for the train ride during holidays when I think they usually have a Santa there. (You need advance tix for this)

A few chairs are available for owners, plus a little swimming pool filled with water for the dogs. The grass and shade trees make it extra inviting. It's clear this park is very well cared for.

This off leash area is fully fenced and double gated. Mature trees around and inside the fenced area. It's a single play area not split between larger and smaller dogs. It is clean, people seem to pick up after their pup, and the few times we've been here, it hasn't been crowded. Today, we brought our fur child and our fur grandchild to meet up with a friends fur child - they'll be spending some long hours together in the near future and need to get familiar with each others (butts) .. personalities. There were the three small dogs and then another few showed up .. all small dogs on this Sunday morning. One large lab appeared with his owner and small pup sibling. The surrounding park area (ball fields) are wide open spaces and if your pup is mindful and doesn't stray too far, you could have a full run of the park (but technically, that area is not off leash .. wink wink). Very happy with this off leash area.

Great multi use park!…read more Location: Located in Carmichael off cozy side streets is this great little park with connections to the American River Bike Trail. For the longest time I did realize how extensive the roads and parking is into this area as generally my entrance into this park is off the Bike Trail. It makes a great stop for picnics or for a quick restroom breaks. Activities: There are a lot of open fields, picnic areas, and water areas to explore off the river. One thing is that I would caution exploring the waterways around here as they can be deceptively fast and dangerous. There is also a great handicap accessible fishing areas off the farthest parking lot. Great for working and watching the waterway from the Harold Richy memorial bridge. Cons: It is a self-pay park so important to keep in mind. Can be a little hard to find but is straight down Arden Way.

The kiosk was staffed on a Saturday and the entry fee is $7 (cash only.) Lots of parking and the trail is easy to spot from the various lots they had available, There were a variety of picnic areas, bathroom facilities and walking trails. It's close to neighborhoods in Carmichael, which is nice for people who live nearby and can walk right over. Access to the bike trail was my main reason for visiting and the trail itself warrants its own review. Minus one star, as having an option to pay entry by credit card would be nice. I mean, who has $7 exact change that they carry with them these days? Anyway, I would likely use this park again for a jumping off point for trail rides. Nice, clean, scenic suburban park.
